Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo Episode 5

Going into this episode I had already predicted how events would turn out. AND sadly someone posted a spoiler. This in no way took away from the power of this episode.
Though from the previews I have issue with how Wook may feel . . . but I won't discuss this until it's confirmed.
This episode was visually dazzling. The writing and pacing delivered the story to new heights. Wook and Soo have clear chemistry. There's no denying it. I enjoyed that the writers didn't just focus on the tragic romance unwinding, but took time to seamlessly move along other characters stories and plots.
Well done. Well done. My heart was moved.
(That said. Oh my drama, guys!!!!!! The previews. The previews! How is the queen not able to keep her promise to Lady Hae. How the crap am I going to wait a week again!! Curse you airing dramas. You torture me!!!)

Cinderella and the Four Knights Episode 7

Unique plot? Um no. This plot is the same recycled K-drama trope that are famous in K-drama/drama land. I will confess to some unique hijinks accompanied by some great jokes. All of which make CatFK (that looked bad) bearable. I just wish more unique elements could be here, or the writing was tighter. They wasted story with immediate flashbacks is exhausting.
That said I loved that Ha Won put Hyun Min in his place. Even saying that he's not listening to his heart. Ha-ha. Which is true. Hyun Min isn't devastated about Ha Won rejecting him. Only that he is now embarrassed that it's national news and people don't support him! Ha-ha! The whole plastic surgery thing was priceless.
I won't lie part of me is drawn to the comfort food that this drama is. However, I think it's clear how it will end. Hyun Min will reconcile with his first love, Hye Ji, and end up with her. Ha Won and Ji Woon will be the main couple. Seo Woo and Ja Yeong will be a couple or start to be a couple. Which would be perfect. I'm also afraid a blood relation twist might be tossed somewhere in here. Yoon Sun will actually become a brother. So on.
I really wish I could dump this drama, but Ahn Jae Hyeon's powers are holding sway.

Another Miss Oh Episode 10

Oh, and Oh Hae Yeong #1 was not drunk! So that was a nice, and refreshing change, but who are we kidding she's still kind of the same person. Let's not blame it on the alcohol. (Cue song.) It's time for me to say it. Do Kyeong is not the only stalker, Oh Hae Yeong # 1 is too! They're both lurking at each other's windows and doing all kinds of stalker things. Thank goodness they found each other! Ha-ha.
No really. This episode was really moving. After flashbacking to how Do Kyeong's father died it was moving to see the first person he wanted was Hae Yeong #1. They really do have chemistry and I love how this is kind of an opposite attracts thing.
Which brings me to the two kisses! I love the passion of both. The first one born of frustration and anger, but they're feelings are trying to come out. Then the second acceptance of that love. Ha-ha! I love that Hae Yeong wanted the Motel and Do Kyeong played dumb. Only to say something so sweet!
I'm still really worried when Do Kyeong is going to tell Hae Yeong #1. He didn't want to give in to his feelings because of what happened, but he cant' keep not telling her. Not to mention the idea that he's in a car crash and he's flashing back stuff, or . . . . other ways the therapist described it. It's all very interesting, but then it would kind of put into question the story.
It was really refreshing to see Ann say that she'd pity park Hoon if he wasn't her boyfriend! Basically she see's his flaws, but will support and comfort him. It was really great to see this side of her and not to mention how comfortable they are as a couple. Even if Park Hoon doesn't understand how lucky he is. ^_-
Overall this is a brilliant episode it highlighted all of the characters and I loved it! One of the best episodes yet. It will be great to see where all the characters end up! What a great journey.

Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo Episode 1

Oh, and I'm on team 4th prince. Part of it might be all the team stuff I've been seeing floating around, but Wang So is just bad@$$. He's got this Zorro-Phantom-of-the-Opera-bad-boy-prince-outcast-hotty-long-hair-of-glory-sexy-mask-hot-smirk vibe going on. I'm clearly already entranced.
Now that that's over with I have to give the writers mad props. I thought this would be really messy and that's why they wanted to release 3 episodes ASAP. Because they were gonna do an information dump. That is not the case. Episode one was so cohesive and gradually gave is information. What a perfect setup.
I'm blown away by this first episode. (Not to mention the man candy. *_* 14th prince. ;_; Ji Soo, I love you!)
This is my second drama with IU since Dream High. So I haven't seen her progression as an actress. Here I think she did a pretty awesome job! What a huge leap from Dream High (for me). Of course she's still as cute as ever.
Visually it's stunning. The scenery is gorgeous and I couldn't tell when there was CGI or not. Well done! Not to mention that the costumes are lovely. The modern tone of the music through me off at first, but as the episode progressed it grew on me more and more. Especially as some of the classical sounds mixed in. The 4th prince's bad boy music was a campy, but it fit.
There is a lot of information and things happening, despite the stellar job by the writers, so I would suggest giving this episode your full attention. This really did surpass all my expectations, and doused some of my fears. I truly believe that the writer and director are going to genuinely give their all for this remake. Yippee! Really looking forward to getting to know the characters.

There's a lot of characters and story to introduce here. As expected it's a little cold. We see "the future" and of course then jump back to the past. Then we're thrust right into the middle of Ka Suo's coming of age party.
Not to mention introducing all the characters again. It's probably going to take Ice Fantasy a while to find it's legs for it's characters and their development. I'll be patient.
Some of the visuals are absolutely stunning, but you can tell when they skimp out to save for the graphics of another scene. Still overall the show is very pretty to look at.
I've never actually watched a Chinese fantasy drama before. My first impressions are actually like some of the games I've played from China. (Which I understand is actually inspired quite a few drama shows about them.)
Overall I'm not wowed, but willing to see where the show goes. After all I did eagerly wait for this bad boy for months. I figured the start would be clunky story wise.

Oh My Ghost Episode 16

I am so happy with this ending. Not only does it provide closure, but I like that the time jump of two years isn't a quick flash on the screen. It get's length and everyone is fully developed.
My disappointment in Seong Jae story is actually elaborated on. While part of me worries for Eun Hee. Either way I'm still super happy that there is more Seong Jae, it felt like the evil spirit won. Well, now it didn't. Ha!
I love the whole crew in the kitchen and I love that they weren't cast aside. Ah!!! Edward Seo played by Seo In Guk as a guest sous chef was really funny! Ha-ha! Especially the whole kitchen crew's reactions to him.
Not to mention the "Today is D-Day" part. What a perfect scene and then to follow up with that lovely ending with the bikes. Overall this was the best way to end it. My warm and fuzzy fix was perfection. The way this wonderful drama has always been able to give it to me. Oh My Ghost will be a drama I go back to rewatch and will never get tired of. Actress Park Bo Young was amazing and I know I'll probably be drama stalking her.

Still I love that finally Jung Ah got her wish to travel. Not to mention that Choong Nam got her wish with that as well, after all they all are living together. Hee Ja's illness brought them all together. Fulfilling wishes and making these best of friends live life to it's fullest.
I can't think of a better way to end this wonderful journey.

Beautiful Gong Shim Episode 7
3 people found this review helpful
Gong Shim is definitely one of my favorite leads she may not be bright or worldly, but I love that she stands up for herself and gives her opinion. Not to mention when a guy tells her to do something she asks "Why do you keep telling me what to do? Don't do that. It's my choice." That way when she makes up her mind it has more feeling.
Dan Tae's crush on Gong Shim is so cute, and I love that he can talk about her bald spot without judgement. I love that both male leads are not trying to transform Gong Shim, or "not see her" she's just a friend. They both have interests in her and they like her as she is.
Overall this was a brilliant episode, it didn't really advance the plot about the missing son. But I thought it was a "brilliant". This was an episode of character development! Not to mention getting to spend time with a fabulous love triangle. I love all the characters so much, I want them all to win. (I know threesomes are not an option. ^_-)
Hilarious episode, moving, and overall just a ton of fun. Good thing it's a 20 episode drama as it looks like the mystery of the kidnapped son will probably take a while to be solved. I'm okay with that if the writers can keep up this warm hearted feeling and keep me laughing.

Beautiful Gong Shim Episode 5

On that note despite the depth of Chong Mi's scheming and treatment of Chong Shim I felt for her. To find yourself so easily tossed aside after all she took from her boss. But that's what you get when you scheme against the wrong person. They might just be as cold blooded and despicable as you.
The actor behind Dan Tae was amazing this episode. As he starts to realize that he likes Chong Shim, but he wants to be there for his friend Joon Soo. I love that Joon Soo is genuinely a nice guy. This is really shaping up to be a fabulous love triangle. Especially as Dan Tae realizes that Joon Soo may be his friend, but he wants Bong Shim to be his woman!
Overall this was a great episode it made me smile and laugh, but still kept the "serious" plot going and developing well. Now Chong Mi and Shim's mother has connections to the Star group/family. Ah, the drama. Way to end an episode. Right in the middle of what may or may not be a kiss.
Oh, and the previews! I'm off to watch the next episode.

Dear My Friends Episode 2

See the view point from the younger children and the older people. Park Wan and Nan Hee's relationship is complicated. To be honest I can see a bit of my own relationship with my mother. Where she wants to be a friend, but what she wants isn't anything I would do for or with my friends. I can see why Park Wan is angry. Though I wonder why she would sabotage her on relationships.
Hee Ja's story is definitely interesting. It's heart breaking to see how careless her family is. Even with Min Ho coming and finally treating her well. I'm very curious what really happened with her husband.
Jung Ah is a pretty awesome character, and I'm wondering what's going on with her one "sickly" daughter that we got a glimpse of in the first episode.
Yeong Won is interesting in that she would take so much blame for what happened to Nan Hee. I feel like there's a deeper reason behind it. Choong Nam is pretty cute, and for being "stupid" she knows what's going on with everyone else.
What a unique story and I love the setup of friendships going on. The reality of how easily children can forget and turn on their parents. I'm curious as to what the Thelma and Louise plot twist is going to be? There's so much potential here and I'm enamored with it all. It's a great look into the fears of growing old and dealing with it.
Now excuse me, that cliffhanger is one I need to go and resolve.

Hey, there's a reason why most drama fans give shows 3 to 4 episodes before keeping or dumping a show.
Signal's first episode manages to keep the timelines straight AND keep a count down going. Holy, cow I was on the edge of my seat. Not to mention the criminal . . . is amazing. To avoid spoilers I'll go into further details in episode 2.
With the first episode ending the way it does I'm very curious how the timeline and the detective from the past is going to tie in. There are so many possibilities. Not to mention the mystery as to why the police force truly hushed things up. Because it seems like a detective was murdered to keep things hush, hush.
The cast is amazing. The actors, so far, keep elevating the show. Each performance hits the mark and some of the stands out have me thrilled to keep watching. Hye Soo, playing the female Detective Soo Hyun, is captivating to watch. Could it be that I will finally have the pleasure of watching another great female detective in a drama?
Signal's first episode is the most solidly crafted first episode of a drama I have ever watched. The thrill and allure of the mystery being setup makes my heart beat with joy.

So I'm going to say that I love the cray-cray Min Ja (the hacker) and Yeong Jae. OK, so I have mentioned Yeong Jae, he is Healer's mentor. The one I was cracking up wanting to make a move on Yeong Shin. I love when these too are talking. They humorous and yet they're building up the great mystery revolving around that picture.
At this point I know who everyone in the picture is. It's funny that at its core it's a tragic love story. Most likey of greed and jealousy. Building a tragic love story in the present day story! I love how each episode is laying done tie-ins. There's a lot of complex work going on, and I appreciate it.
Moon Shik was our obvious villain. But it's strange to think that he's more of a puppet for this Elder. The mystery around Elder is tantalizing. Is this how Moon Shik took his junk yard business into a huge powerful company? Did he sell his soul much how Sang Soo did?
Moon Ho and Moon Shik are definitely drawing lines in the sand. Which makes me wonder why the Elder jumped the gun.
Serious stuff aside this episode was perfection!
That sweet kiss, which I hope is a prologue to even more passion. Healer's weak knees! The "make over" that took Healer's breath away. I love that everything is on Healer's face, despite that he's playing his cards close. I'm not even sure how to describe it. He's undercover, but you can see it all. That walk home with Healer following was moving.
Honestly guys I think Yeong Shin and Healer might just be my new favorite drama couple. Bravo.

Ha-ha! Healer's mentor wants to make the moves on Yeong Shin, too funny! The way he was talking about her and making plans to swoop in once Healer was gone just made my day. Poor Yeong Shin she has no idea how man people are watching her . . . and wanting her. All for different reasons.
The mystery of Healer's father is tantalizing. Not to mention Yeong Shin's. Obviously there's going to be huge dramatic reveal that crashes Yeong Sin and Healer's budding romance. Or some where down they're romance line.
The dirty side of the news is very interesting. But I also like how the writers are making a commentary on how the news and law can come hand in hand. They affect each other. More importantly in law and news the rich can make it out. But the lower class get lost and screwed over in the outcome.
What I'm baffled about is the last episode I thought Healer was having his lackey steal the car so that he could jump in as the "driver" and show everyone that Bong Soo couldn't be Healer. And now this episode he is using his lackey for a bait and switch! Darn it! Wasted opportunity.
Yeah! Finally Healer does some breaking and entering. It was about time!
(Now excuse me while I try to find that song! "My Eternal Love". Also, looking for Jun Seok in the cast page didn't help me find the name. Who is that?!)
Was this review helpful to you?
But that wasn't the best part. Healer and Yeong Shin have such chemistry. When she was talking about her crushes it was so cute. Healer's facial expressions where all kinds of awesome.
The more I, and Healer, get to know Yeong Shin I really like her. She's so well realized. It's a true treat to have such a three dimensional character as the female lead!
I'm pretty positive I know who everyone in the picture is now! I have some ideas of what may have happened, but the writers are playing their cards close to their chests. The mystery is definitely my favorite part of this show. Not enough is given to reveal everything.

This episode also highlights Bong Seon's compassion. She agrees with Seon Woo, such things shouldn't be rushed. Yet she cares enough about Sun Ae to let her have sex with her body so that she doesn't have to become an evil spirit. Because Bong Seon has chef, she doesn't need Sun Ae anymore.
This did an excellent job of showing Seong Jae past. From what I gather I think he already had a darker side, but the evil spirit possessed him. Not sure if the hint is the real Seong Jae died and the spirit took over, or if he was just weakened and that happened. The suspense! I'm so curious as to how he was involved in his wife's accident and Sun Ae's death. I have know doubt about it and I LOVE how the suspense is building. Not to mention that someone is now clued in that Seong Jae may be evil.
Overall I loved seeing how much the characters and storylines are growing. It would really be great to have more Bong Seon and less Sun Ae. Bong Seon has grown, but I lfeel like she's not getting to experience the live she's striving to achieve. AND! She still has no interest in using the resources in front of her to figure out how to avoid spiritual encounters. After all Sun Ae is friends with a real shaman! Either way I'm really happy with this drama and now that the issue of Sun Ae jumping poor Seon Woo's bones is addressed I hope they can leave that underwhelming storyline be. Though Sun Ae is on a time line here, but I would think she'll realize she wants justice for her death.
