Unpopular opinion: I love this series? I know it's short, and some of the side couple's story lines are a bit rushed, but all of the characters' chemistry is off the charts, and I especially love the main couple.

I was a bit thrown off when it switched between Taiwanese and Korean because my brain couldn't keep up with the switch at first, but I'm sure that's just because I have to translate it in my head into English. With subtitles, it wasn't as distracting.

Seriously, though. It's a cute, quirky show that I would LOVE to see more of~

I fully intended to start this series when it finished airing because I invest an unhealthy amount of my time binging shows, and it's a better experience for me, personally, when I can watch the whole series in one go and rewatch to my heart's content if I like it (like I've done with several other BLs). There are certain shows that I start with the idea of just wasting time and coming back when they're done if I'm interested in them enough, but, honestly, based on the premise, this wasn't one of those shows. I was just gonna watch it later.

And then we got quarantined here in the US, and it popped up in a 2gether episode where someone mentioned it might get dropped. Now, I may not have been wholeheartedly sold on the idea, but I didn't want the series to be dropped, so I hopped on and watched the 4 episodes that were out.

And that's all she wrote, honestly, because this show is SO MUCH BETTER than I expected.

Let's just start with my favorite couple, okay? There are three main-ish couples (four if you count Mr. Smiley and his doctor friend, which I'm not just yet because their screen time together isn't as much so far) with a good balance of screen time, and my favorite has to be RamKing, the quiet first year who loves dogs and the plant-lover second-year who happens to be great in school. Their relationship is what keeps me coming back every Saturday if I'm being honest. I just love the way King reads Ram, the way they both look at each other, and did I mention how cute King is when he's talking to his plants? He's such a dork, but he still manages to be cool at the same time. He's so understanding, and he really does read those around him like a book. And the venus flytrap metaphor? Even if it's not intended as a metaphor, I'm gonna say it is anyway because venus flytraps are hard to take care of and they take, like, 6-12 weeks to germinate, but King went out of his way to find the seeds and raise it just to give it to Ram because Ram liked it. If that doesn't explain the way King is willing to be patient and take care of Ram to get him to talk, then I don't know what does.

MekBoss is second despite how much I didn't necessarily care about them in the beginning. They stole my heart pretty quickly because, even though Mek likes Boss, he never gets in the way of what he thinks Boss wants, and I think that's so important, you know? They dub over Mek's voice, as I'm sure everyone has realized by now, which can be a bit of an annoyance since the voice honestly doesn't match Mek's great acting--sometimes, when Mek is doing great expressing his exasperation or heartache or even happiness, the voice-over is very monotone and takes away from how wonderful Mek does as an actor--but I've managed to ignore it pretty well. It does suck that they just didn't do a "Beause of You" scenario where the actor speaks his native language and everyone just understands him, but I digress. I still love this couple way more than I expected thanks to how Mek treats Boss. It's honestly the sweetest, most selfless form of liking someone. Add it to the fact that the only reason Mek confessed to Boss was because Boss was being hard on himself and Mek wanted him to know that not everyone thought he was worthless? It's precious. I love them~

Last but definitely not least, we have BohnDuen (DuenBohn? XD). Don't get me wrong--I really do love this couple--but their story has yet to really make me SQUEAL. Like, RamKing had me giggling as soon as they met (with King looking at his plant saying, "You don't answer me just like a certain someone."), but BohnDuen is more of an "aww" kind of thing. I also wish that Duen would stop being so darn Tsundere now that they're together (it's been 12 episodes, Duen; start admitting to yourself that you're a cheeseball just like your boyfriend). They're a hoot, though. Especially when they start fighting over who's the 'wife.' I don't mind that whole "I don't like guys, I like *insert person's name*" trope because I'm a firm believer in gender not mattering and love breaking people's barriers, but I also understand the want for a strong, proud LGBT character.

The acting. The ACTING. All of their acting is superb, especially when you compare it to the events they've held. All of these actors really capture who the characters are, and they make it feel authentic. I was almost surprised when I found out Tay (King) isn't actually afraid of dogs (he even has a cute little puppy of his own) because of how well he portrays King. And Perth (Ram) is anything but shy, but you would never know that from his character Ram. I'm really impressed with these actors, and I'm definitely stanning Tay and Perth, not to mention Cooper, Poy, Inntouch, and even Ryan (if he can redeem himself from his poor attitude).

The OST. I mean, I'm in love with... I think it's "Are You Okay" in English (จะเป็นไรไหม) by Merry Dancers and Goh M (don't quote me on that one--I'm still working on my Thai), but, so far, that's the only song I care for as far as the soundtrack goes.

Overall, I'm invested in this series now, and I didn't think I would be, but here we are. The characters are cute and quirky and a little weird (looking at you Dr. Thara), the acting is wonderful, and the story is definitely pulling me along despite how simple it seems at times~ Definitely recommend~

Take a shot every time I type "I love" XD

WARNING! To vent my feelings, I'm gonna do it episode by episode since others are, and I feel validated lmao Plus, like, there's a LOT of feelings in each episode~ It's so good~ Even so, I won't spoil anything major, so you can experience yourselves~

TL;DR? Full disclosure: I didn't like the book because of certain plot lines that I absolutely ABHOR, including "studying abroad" and "those who are older than us ALWAYS know better" (which is gross, and most certainly not true). The show, though? Is almost NOTHING like the book, thankfully. I mean, p'Aof literally saw it and was like, "There's potential, but it could be better" and BITCH HE MADE IT SO MUCH BETTER. One of my favorite parts is the way it addresses the issues PatPran face. There's an overarching problem that both main characters are working on, but, for the most part, each issue gets resolved before the episode is over, which means the usual tactic of using cliff hangers to keep readers interested is no where to be found. Despite this, I STILL can't wait for every episode. It addresses stereotypical BL tropes (especially those in Thai BLs), and the characters freaking COMMUNICATE their PROBLEMS. It's so freaking NICE. There are misunderstandings and quarrels, but, again, they're generally resolved before the end of the episode WITHOUT rushing. Plus, the OST? It's beautiful. Just Friends is a wonderful song, and Nonan's voice is so soothing and aching and ugh. I love it.

ONWARDS to my completely uncensored reactions lmao

Episode 1.
It's such a good introduction! This episode does a good job of setting groundwork. We get so much detail, but it doesn't feel rushed or forced. It just flows naturally, like a good story should do~ I love this more than the book already lol The way Nonan's eyes are so expressive makes me jealous, honestly. Side note: I'm glad they didn't do that typical, "This guy's my bully, but I love him anyway." That shit drives me INSANE. Another side note: is it me or is Pat more... Pat when he's around Pran? Maybe I'm reading too much into it since I know they're probably gonna end up together (oh, come on! It's a BL, and they're the main starts. That's not a spoiler; that's just common sense!).

Episode 2.
I normally don't like the "opposites attract" rhetoric, because it's (more often than not) complete garbage, since you have to have something in common with the person you like--otherwise, the relationship won't last. My favorite thing this episode (and throughout the series tbh) is the BALANCE. Yes, Pat and Pran have different routines and majors, but they're similar where it counts: kind, thoughtful, and loyal. Pat cares for his sister, family, and friends. Pran cares for his friends and family. They deal with things differently, but they have similarities on a fundamental level. Also, like, the misunderstanding this episode is adorable, and I love how they handle it~

Episode 3.
They're also goofballs. Have I mentioned that yet? Dear Lord! They're such dorks. It's so cute, and I hate them lmao. Also, kudos to Pat for being so stubborn! Despite Pran telling him not to talk to him, Pat just smirks and keeps trying, even offering to help. I love this character the most, to be honest, and I can't blame Pran for falling for him because same, my guy. Same.

Episode 4.
"I know you can [do it on your own], but I still want to help" is the best freaking thing I've ever heard. I love it so much. Also, it's such a good thing that Pat and Pran's friends are with them, because if they got roped into a cultist leader, they'd be so screwed lol They're so easily manipulated, it's kinda cute. It's also realistic, especially with the rivalry, because you don't always thing logically when arguing or fighting--you just wanna be right and have the one-up--so I give them kudos for that as well~ Another nice subtly is the way they show how different Pran is when talking to others (soft, polite speech) versus how he is when he's talking to Pat (angry, informal, rough). I'm starting to get the vibe that Pran feels more comfortable with Pat, just like Pat is with him. Like they can be themselves with the other. My heart~ Also, the way Pat just expected Pran to sit next to him, so he slid the chair out expectantly? And the fact that he's paying so much attention to him that he notices Pran's shoulder starting to bother him? Please don't do this to meeeee~

Episode 5.
This episode. THIS EPISODE. I can't. Also, can someone tell me why it's the fifth episode, and I just noticed that, in the intro, Pat's and Pran's friends switch sides, so Pat's friends are next to Pran and Pran's friends are next to Pat? Small detail, but I like it~ Moving on~ I love how Pat deals with things. He always immediately tries to figure out an answer and/or solution. When he messes up, he tries to fix it. When he's confused about his feelings, he immediately tries to find the answer. I love that sort of "head first" mentality, and I think that's why I like his character so much: I'm so tired of people skirting around their feelings and their issues. As someone who likes to have the conversation so I can get it over with, I totally relate to Pat, who just wants to KNOW. Also, his jealousy over Wai is, like, the single best thing, especially since it's more than just romance: Wai can go to Pran's house, Wai can be friends with Pran out in the open; that's so much more than Pat feels like he will ever be able to do since their parents hate each other. I love that detail~ (Someone, take a shot every time I type "I love that" or "I love them" or "I love" anything lmao). And, of course, that KISS. The difference in emotions WHILE kissing for Pat and Pran is beautiful, let alone afterwards. The different way they handle things is really coming out here, and I *snickers* love it~

Episode 6.
You know, I kinda forgot about the whole "Pat interested in Ink" because, like a champ, this show didn't harp on it, and I immediately started shipping Ink with Pa because, I mean, why can't we get a good GL? Until Pa was like, "You two are fighting over Ink, right?" and then I was like, "OHHHHHH! Is that why Pran..." And I realized that Pat literally told Pran he liked her an epsiode or so ago, so, like, how confusing for poor Pran! Shit! I bet Pat also forgot because he's... Well, he's Pat, and I feel that lmao. Aside from that, Pat using their bets and power struggle to make Pran look at him and pay attention to him? Cute~ Pat going out of his way in an environment that would clearly eat him up? Also cute~ Head strong and unperturbed--two traits I love about Pat. Just give in Pran. For the sake of my heart because Pat's sad eyes are BREAKING IT. On another note, the adverts in this show are also wonderfully done. That flirting scene with the printer? Golden. I also just love how everything is bickering--not quite fighting, but just little quips and arguments because they're stubborn~

Episode 7.
This whole episode is GOLD. The cute flirting, the tactics? It's soooo good. Even the part where they try to make each other jealous, which is something I usually hate, is done so well, with both parties being like, "Why're you acting so weird?" But Pat and Pran are so focused on the other, they have no idea that their "dates" are absolutely lost. It's brillant~ A highlight from this episode is another detail: the fact that Pat looks at the door to see how Pran is feeling (the sad face this time) and immediately changes his tactics because he's worried? God help me because these boys are going to KILL ME. Toto(?) screaming, "I just survived this" at the end is literally me.

Episode 8.
Another good example of communication with a touch of sweet. Every problem, they both admit their faults. They both apologize, and they both compromise, choosing what works for either of them. It warms my heart so much~

Episode 9.
WAI. WHY (ha) are you such an ASSHOLE. I thought you were GOOD, but you're literally just PETTY. In the WORST WAY. UGH. I understand his betrayal, and I know that being lied to sucks, but that doesn't give you the RIGHT. Ugh x2. Korn and the rest of Pat's friends are angels, and I love them, but I tend to like most of Drake's characters, though I wish he'd be the main lead at some point~ Pressing on, Pat's character continues to set the bar higher for an potential relationship I want to get in, which is problem, but we'll ignore that for the moment. Them being open and out DOES make my heart happy. Though I'm annoyed by HOW it was done, I recognize there isn't really any way it could've been done, especially with Pran's PTSD when it comes to being friends with Pat in public (thanks, mom and dad). I wish we could've gotten Pa's initial reaction, but alas~ Also, Wai, did you HAVE to waste that water bottle? It was completely full! Thankful that the issues were resolved in ONE EPISODE, and it wasn't dragged out until the end or something, because then I really would be annoyed~

Episode 10.
I'm SO GLAD this show deviated from the book. The reason in the book for this feud, in my opinion, was absolutely stupid, but this reason? I totally get it. I would be upset and heartbroken, too, and I'm also just happy they made it something UNEXPECTED. Like, this show is doing so well with the "plot twists," because I never really think they're gonna do it well, which is stupid, since this whole show is done well lol. Either way, I thought we would have a prelude to sadness for episode 11 (because of the curse), but, honestly, I was, once again, pleasantly surprised that, instead of breaking up because of the conflict, they decided to face it together. Like, how fucking healthy is that? I love it~ I also love the way Wai is integrating, and I would be totally down for a KornWai ship hinted. Also, InkPa ship is SAILING, bitches, and I'm SO FREAKING HYPED. I was worried (again, stupid on my part) that they'd drag it out and make it to where Pa is just misunderstanding her feelings and blah blah blah, but P'Aof was like, "NO BITCHES. THIS IS IT." And it happened in episode 10, which means we might get even CUTER moments. All in all, my heart is both happy and hurt. Negative Ten to Pat's dad, and 10/10 for InkPa~ See you all Friday~

Episode 11.
THAT SONG, THOUGH. LIKE. WHAT. "Love is nothing else but you" is probably the single best thing ever. The way it's been the opening the entire time? That was so brilliant. I love p'Aof so much! He's such a dedicated, talented director! Like, wow. And this sound track is fucking ENDING me~ This episode was entirely PatPran. They lived their lives, worked out their anxieties, and just enjoyed each other the whole time, and I can appreciate it. Plus, like, not to beat a dead horse, but that song? ugh. I love it. I wasn't TOTALLY impressed when Pran was singing it previously because the beat seemed off, but I attributed it to them making it feel like it was in the process of being written, and DAMN. That final piece? I love it. There were rumors of Twitter spoiling it, but I think people don't realize that the book has been translated into English since almost the beginning of the series, and it's different enough from the series that it doesn't really matter. OF COURSE, based on the previews for the next episode, where they're talking about breaking up (did they even break up? did I miss that? I thought they were just going home!) with each other, I'm guessing we're gonna do that thing I hate, where we have a year or two gap between meeting each other. Ick. I'll probably dock points for that, but I'm still overly impressed and in love with this series. One episode to go, and I'm both excited and sad~ Love is nothing else but you, na?<3(:

Episode 12.
I TAKE IT ALL BACK. THAT WAS AWESOME. They DECEIVED ME, and I LOVE IT. UGH. Way better than the book. I also love the fact that they took what the guy at the beach said to heart like I did. When he said that the world couldn't change him either, I was so inspired, and I'm excited that our boys were just as inspired because I felt like that line was perfect, honestly~ I even love that they included that little thing about their parents giving in to their relationship. Ugh. I just finished it, and now I wanna watch it all over again.

Totally Worth It~ And Not Just Because of OffGun lol

BASICALLY: 9.5
Let me start this off by saying: I didn't like the book. For several reasons, but this isn't a book review, so I just wanted to say that. Even though I didn't like the book, though, the series is almost COMPLETELY DIFFERENT so far. Like, eons apart. Like, the only similarities are the main five-ish characters, their names, and the friendship between the main four (Black/White, Gram, Yok, and Sean), which is proving to be almost nonexistent in the most interesting twist. White fully expects his brothers friend to be more... friend-like, but what he finds are a group of people together because of a common cause: eat the rich, bitch. Well, not quite, but basically, and I love it, tbh~ The issues discussed and the problems they're trying to fix are important in EVERY country, and I'm glad they made it more about the political issues and rich vs poor struggles rather than the bland, too-predictable crap that the book turned out to be (I was REALLY disappointed in the book, okay?).

ACTING: 10
OffGun~ I mean, 'nuff said, right? They're one of my favorite, OG BL couples. Their acting has improved, because p'Off is generally a funny, joking kinda guy, and we get NONE of that with Sean, who's serious, studious, and always learning. P'Gun also does a great job of showing us the contracts between Black and White: Black, who had to grow up in a harsher environment thanks to his mother, who refused to change, and White, who's grown up with a silver spoon. Black is hardened, while White is optimistic and caring. It's awesome, and p'Gun does a great job showcasing the difference from the beginning. If I were Sean, I'd be confused as hell, too, and the confusion every time White (who cares) has to correct himself and be Black (who would abandon anyone if it meant furthering his goals) really shows on Sean's face. I love the friends, too! I'm interested to see what they do about Gram since he's got his own romantic interest in the book~ Yok does too, but they've completely changed it (in the best way, I swear), so that hypes up the anticipation more~

MUSIC: 8.5
I know it's a bit of a low rating, especially since I love the opening song, but the rest of the sound track is so-so. It's probably because I'm watching Bad Buddy at the same time as this, and the OST in Bad Buddy is purely *chef's kiss*, but it's not as enticing. The opening song is awesome, though, and I definitely saved it to my Thai playlist as soon as I could~

OVERALL: 9.5
It's only episode 4, cupcakes, and I'm already invested. I can't wait to see what happens~ I hope they make a genuine change in society, to be honest, because the characters' stories (especially Sean's) just make me wanna root for them~ And I can't wait to see how the White/Black and Sean is handled, and how White falls, and just all of that great things that makes you wanna watch~ I'm the type of person who waits until the series is over, but I just love it so much at this moment, that I can't wait~

tl;dr? Every episode starts out with an introduction basically telling you not to take the series too seriously because the show is supposed to be for fun, and, honestly, I recommend going into every episode with that idea because it's actually super enjoyable~

PLOT:

It's a bit over the place and entirely chaotic, but I still found myself smiling. The entire show is introduced with the idea of not taking it seriously, and I think that's how it should be viewed: it's just some silly show meant to be funny, and, during these times, I really think that's something that's super important. That being said, there are a LOT of Thai cultural jokes in it, and a LOT of references to other BLs. I would honestly compare it to the "Scary Movies" of BLs--while they're not necessarily making fun of BLs, there's definitely a plethora of BL references in it like you would find a plethora of horror movies referenced in "Scary Movies." So far, I've seen references from Make It Right, Why RU, and several others, and it makes my day~

ACTING:

To be honest, I started this show because I saw Lay had a main role, and I love him as King in "My Engineer," so I decided to check it out while I waited for another episode of "My Engineer." Of course, Lay's acting in this is just as good as in "My Engineer," and I'm actually impressed with P'Yoon (who plays Nott) too. Honestly, the whole cast is great and over-the-top, and it's awesome~

OST:

Like the plot, the OST is all over the place (in a good way, I swear). Sometimes, there's piano and acoustic guitars for a "serious" scene, but then it'll switch to some vocalized music almost immediately when someone does something stupid. Also, because it has several BL scenes featured in it, there's a lot of other OSTs from other BLs in it as well, including Why RU's OST, which just makes it that much better, especially since I really enjoyed Why RU's OST.

PRODUCTION:

I haven't watched very many Thai sitcoms, so I don't want to get too far into this just yet, but, so far, I enjoy it. As mentioned above, there are a LOT of Thai cultural jokes, so it can be hard to follow if you're not familiar with little Thai things, but I don't think it takes away from the cute, nonsensical plot they've got going on so far~

OVERALL:
I'm pleasantly surprised with this series, and I'm excited for the next episode~ For something that was just supposed to be a "passing time" thing, I'm actually invested into the chaotic storyline they've got going on. It's great~

Relationships Don't End at the Credits

Story: 9.0
I was a bit apprehensive about starting this drama because of how low the rating was when I first realized it was airing, but I forgot how harsh DramaList reviews tend to be for some reason~ I think the story is interesting, and there's some foreshadowing of Zo's reaction to Joke's plan, which made it a bit more suspenseful, but, overall, the story is a cute, straightforward tale with sprinkles of little issues here and there that the characters have faced and will have to face. It has a very big "Don't Judge What You Don't Know" vibe for several characters, specifically Nita, and there hasn't been any toxic women in this drama, so we automatically get an extra star for that lmao There are cute details in it (like Joke confessing his feelings to Zo in the SECOND episode in Chinese lol) that make it cute, but I don't think it's the most ground-breaking in terms of creativity, though I could definitely see this drama being a comfort show for many people. I will say that the second couple feels a lot like an after thought, so much so that I actually forgot to put them in this review at first, which is why I knocked a half star. They're cute, and they're relevant in certain parts, and I even love how they develop, but they still feel a bit more like background characters instead of a full blown main couple~ BONUS: most of the issues are solved in ONE EPISODE. Like, the characters TALK TO EACH OTHER. I fucking LOVE that shit lmaoo We stan healthy communication in this house~

EDIT AS OF 12th EPISODE: I will say that that final episode was a bit more rushed than I would've liked, and the problem in it involving Zo feels a bit thrown in, so I knocked another half star for that. It doesn't necessarily effect my overall feeling of the story, but it does feel like something worth mentioning here nonetheless~

WE INTERRUPT THIS REVIEW FOR A TANGENT: I'm not sure why most of the reviews are talking negatively about how "the show should've ended when they got together; I'm bored!" and "who cares about family issues!?" I want to just quickly throw in here that relationships don't end at the credits. Real relationships continue far past initially getting together, and I think that struggle isn't shown as much in BLs through Thailand as it should be (unless it's one of the main plot points). Of course, one reason could be the short episode count, but I love that about shows, so I'm not gonna complain too much~

This show, though, has managed to give us all of that without rushing, and too many people are too upset with it because they almost fetishize these relationships, and it's mildly infuriating to see such venom about such a cute show. Yes, there are problems, but aren't there always?

Anyway~

Acting/Cast: 10
This was my introduction to Joong (Joke) with someone other than Nine (Kitkat from 2Moons2), and the roll he plays here is such a stark difference from his role in 2Moons2 that I'm so impressed with him??? I knew he'd expand and do great things as an actor, but I think he might be one of my new favorites, and I love Ohm (Pat from Bad Buddy) and Nanon (Pran from Bad Buddy) so much that THAT in of itself should convince you to watch this~ I hadn't seen anything with Dunk (Zo) before, and he's also joining my boys up on the top. I mean, he does such a great job of playing a realistically insecure guy -- he's not over-the-top with it; just overthinks things a bit too much because he doesn't have confidence. Does he have Nanon's expressive eyes? Well, not entirely, but he's relatively new and does a great job for what this character needs. I've seen both JoongDunk dramas at this point, and I'm thoroughly in love with both of them~

The side characters are also great! They're actually relevant to the plotline instead of being simple comic relief, which is refreshing and nice and I love them, so be nice to them~

Music: 8.5
A bit harsh, but I've been so spoiled by Bad Buddy and 2together and even Not Me that I can't help itttt~ I base it purely on whether I add any songs to my playlist, and I haven't done that here yet~ I will say that the background music for the scenes of the show are well-done, though, and I didn't feel like it took me out of the storyline~

Rewatch Value: 10
Like I said, I think this show has the potential to be a comfort show to some people, myself included~ The problems are solved in a relatively healthy manner, the actors have great chemistry, and the storyline is linear without confusing detours.

Fun fact: I did, in fact, end up watching this cute little show several thousand times when I got sick lol

Overall: 9.5
This series is as straightforward as the synopsis says. It's got great actors, good chemistry, and a cute, easy plotline that might give you cavities in the same episode that it pinched your heart. JoongDunk are a relatively new couple in BL, but I hope they get as popular as OffGun or MaxTul or any of the OGs because they're so good, and they can only get better, you know? The side characters are nothing to scoff at. I've seen Louis (Pat, Zo's friend) and AJ (Kot, Zo's more reasonable friend lmao) in a few other dramas, and I love them to bits~

More In-Depth than You'd Think

BASICALLY: 9/10
Honestly, I went into this with the idea that it would be a cute, simple, cliche story. I figured it'd have that "I'm bullied but the person who bullies me is sooooo cute~" mentality, and, while it may seem that way for a good portion, it turned out to be a really good story about first loves and our perception of people~

STORY (LOOSE SPOILERS; NOTHING MAJOR): 9/10
Like I said, I thought the plot would be more toxic than it was. Now, that's not saying it's mind-blowingly healthy, but it's realistic, and it really highlights how Hira's perception (and, subsequently, ours, as viewers watching it from his PoV) is a bit skewed from reality. The first couple of episodes are told strictly from Hira's perspective, so everything is what he knows, and he doesn't know a lot, as an awkward loner with no confidence. Kiyoi's perspective sheds more light on how wrong Hira is and how upsetting and -- quite frankly -- infuriating it can be to constantly be idolized to the point that you're barely human anymore. Both are wrong in their decisions -- make no mistake -- but they're supposed to be in high school, and who the hell knows anything about healthy in high school lol We make mistakes, and we try to fix them. Just like these two people do.

ACTING: 9.5/10
I've never heard of either of these actors, but I don't really follow Japanese shows as much as I follow Thai BLs and Korean Dramas, so don't take it too seriously~ The main actors, as well as MOST of the side actors, did wonderful jobs; I'm just jaded from Bad Buddy when it comes to acting, so my standards are (unfortunately) high at the moment~ While the main actors did a good job, I felt like some of the side characters that showed up here and there fell flat for me~ Not too bad, but enough for me to roll my eyes once or twice~

MUSIC: 8.5/10
It's not overly impressive, but there are a few songs I enjoyed~ Nothing too major or noteworthy, though~

REWATCH VALUE: 9/10
It's a short, cute story with some deeper themes than most, so I will definitely visit it again, especially with all of this snow~ Snuggle up and binge watch BLs? Sign me up, bitches~

OVERALL: 9/10
Are there longer dramas out there that I'd pick over this one? Yes. Of course. Japan isn't know for there drama productions, after all. Does that mean this isn't a nice show to watch? Of course not! It's cute. The actors are attractive, adorable, and kinda awkward, and the story is pretty good itself~ You should definitely check it out~

I honestly didn't expect to like this as much as I did. I went through a kick where I just wanted to watch time-travel dramas like Faith, and this one filled that need SO WELL. It's a good, cute story. The ending can be mildly annoying, but I think it works well in this case because of certain plot lines, so I'm not angry at it (no, it's not a tragedy. technically).

The side characters are all enjoyable, and I feel like there's a good balance of serious and sad and goofy and romance. Especially since: how else is a prince from the past supposed to act? It's just great~

Definitely recommend if you want a time-travel, goofy show to watch that will make you laugh, cry, and giggle~

Good Drama

I know a couple people don't think it's worth it or that it's a slow-paced show because it takes a minute for the lead characters to meet (officially), but let me just tell you: this show is WORTH it. As someone who read the novel, I can tell you that this was everything I'd hoped it would be and more! Ohm (Dean) and Fluke (Pharm) have such great chemistry, and I think that comes through in the storyline. I'm also a big fan of Sammy (Manow), so I generally love every character she does~ I even loved the side-couples, and that NEVER happens. WinTeam is wonderful, and I'm gonna stan their acting careers from here on out.

The OST. Listen. I'm a huge Boy Sompob fan, so, of course, I love Luckiest Boy (there's an English version, fun fact, though I do like the Thai version better), and I'm a sucker for songs that the cast cover themselves, so another win (wink) for me~

Overall, I highly recommend this show. I also recommend reading the book so you can understand why the portrayal of the characters is so good--it's like they channeled the characters from the novel, and I think that's the best thing an actor can do when you watch a show based off of a book~

First, I love 2 Moons. I love the books, and I love the original series and cast. I love it so much that, when I learned this was a remake, like everyone else, I didn't want to watch it. I HATE when shows change casts like that, you know? It's the worst, and one of my biggest peeves, but, of course, because I was thirsting for some more BL, I decided to give it a go, and man am I glad I did!

I love 2 Moons because of how true to the novel it was, but I love 2 Moons 2 because of... well, everything! I love the acting, the way they incorporated some storylines from all three books to give us more than just P'Pha and Wayo's story, and I absolutely ADORE the side couples~ It took me a minute to warm up to them because of how much I loved Ming and P'Kit from 2 Moons, but I feel like Joong and Nine fit the roles waaaaaay better. I even think Pavel and Dome are a better P'Fourth and P'Beam.

In conclusion, I love both version for different reasons. I think the best way to go about this is to watch both versions, giving them equal chances, and compare them when you're finished, but accept their differences. Just because one version is better for one thing doesn't mean the other version sucks because it didn't have that thing.

Also, just a thought: is it just me, or are the people who read the books the one who generally don't like this version? It doesn't show a lot of the best scenes in the first book, so I understand their qualms, but I was wondering if anyone else noticed that too~

Cute, Light-Hearted Squeals

UPDATE (as of 3rd episode)
So, this show is still going strong, honestly~ I think it's a cute, light-hearted storyline that really focuses on the communication aspect so far~ I mean, there are problems that arise, but those problems are solved fairly quickly, which is nice because I would hate for something so short to be filled with too much angst (I'm looking at you, Love Mechanics). Speaking of Love Mechanics, I love Mark and Vee in this? I love that they expanded the relationship between Vee and Nuea, as well as Mark's general relationship inside Bar, Vee, and Nuea's friend group. It honestly makes me want to go back and watch all of their stories again.

I will agree that there are some pacing issues, but I breeze past that because they have 4 episodes to work with. Do I think P'New would do wonders with 12 episodes per story? Hell yeah. Would I watch it? Hell yeah x2, especially if they use the same actors.

I mentioned this in my original review (below this blurb), but the acting is getting GREAT. There are some missteps and awkwardness in certain scenes in the past two storylines, but those are few and far between in this storyline. Benz (Praram/Pralak) especially~ I mean, guys, he literally uses two different voices to try to set them apart. He's so cute~ Prom (Nuea) is also awesome~ I've loved him in all of the other storylines, so I'm biased, but I'm hyped that he's the lead here~
____

Granted, it's only an episode in, but that means we're 25% done with this story, you know? Besides, after binging the other two En of Love series, I can confidently say that the acting has improved EXPONENTIALLY. All of them, not just the main leads, have improved greatly, and I think that makes this show worth the delay we had.

This honestly is the story I was looking forward to the most out of all of them, so I have high expectations, especially since I love most of P'New's works, and I'm excited to say that I spent most of the first episode squealing, which is a good sign~

I can't wait for the next episode, and I'll be sure to update this as it goes~

Not Everyone's Favorite Star (but I loved it, so~)

Story: 8.5/10
This is another "I liked him first, but he fell harder and just happens to be dumber" situation, which can make it seem a bit predictable, but I think it's still cute~ The first few episodes start out SO STRONG. I loved the way Daonuea and his friends interacted, and the way his sibling relationship was shown; it was so heartwarming and wholesome and just overall accurate. The way they support Dao while also knowing he was full of shit when he said he was over his crush was best-friend-level-tier, you know? The conflict was a bit... much. This story, like many of BLs, suffers from a lack of communication. Well, I should say PROPER communication, as Kluen is more of a doer than a sayer, which pretty much sums up all of their problems. His actions speak louder and way better than his words, but that's not always enough, especially when the other party was explicit and you kinda-not-really-but-technically-did turn them down. If that sounded confusing to you, then that's because it really is a bit confusing. One of the side characters says that Kluen is "book smart but a dumbass," and she's right. These characters are a bit too complex to try to fit into 8 episodes, but I think Dunk (Daonuea) and Joong (Kluen) did great with what they had, which is why I, despite hating the miscommunication, still enjoyed the show~

Acting/Casting: 10/10
We got all of my new favorite actors, even the side characters are some of my favs, so I'm a bit biased here, but I think they did great with what they had. Everyone felt so necessary, even Noel, whom I thought was just an extra to show that Kluen had a friend aside from Gia, ended up being an important player in an interesting way~

Music: 9/10
The OST is good, and there's nothing wrong with the background music or anything; I generally just tend to rate music based on how many songs I absolutely NEED to get on my playlist, and, with all of these great shows coming out with their soundtracks being ON-POINT, I'm spoiled. I felt generous since everyone keeps talking shit on this show, though, so I gave it a higher rating than I probably would have.

Rewatch Value: 10/10
Despite it's flaws and the annoying miscommunication, I still really enjoyed this show. Like I said, the first few episodes were so good and sweet that I had to go to the dentist and get some teeth pulled from the cavities lmao KluenNuea's moments were fluffy and hit just the right spot that I just.. Ugh. So good. I'm actually writing this review after watching 5 times to help boost the rating since DramaList tends to be super harsh on shows for some reason~ (Everyone wishes they were a Critic Writer, I suppose 🤷‍♀️)

Overall: 9.5/10
People on DramaList really do think they're connoisseurs with shows sometimes, especially when others really like specific actors. I'm not entirely sure why, but if the rating of the show is the only thing making you hesitate to watch this, then I recommend going for it anyway. It's not everyone's cup of tea, of course, but it's also only 8 episodes, so it's a short, cute watch when you need some BL or JoongDunk in your life -- it doesn't have to be serious or something you binge, though I absolutely did binge it several times with no shame~ The production was great, the OST was good, the acting was on-point, and I just love how everyone interacts with each other in this drama, from the romance to the friendships; it's all so fluffy and sweet~

Listen: this show would be roughly 284% better without all of that Jeed nonsense, so take my advice: watch the BL Cut Version on Youtube because I didn't even realize all of that side plot existed because it's not in the books. OhmMick and PerWin were hinted in the book, and I can't remember if EarnPete were (though, even if they weren't, they're a nice touch), but at least their storylines ADDED something. What did Jeed add except frustration? Even her redemption is infuriating, with that Grace chick just... Honestly, if they hadn't include all of that nonsense, I'd rate this high because I STILL want to pull my hair out at the thought of Jeed and Grace.

Enough of that, though. What really matters is that everything is wrapped up rather nicely in this cute and heart-warming second season. There are a few head-banging moments when it comes to Aim and Yuri, but I think they're necessary because of how Noh and Phun are, you know? It's their way of learning and moving towards what they want, especially when they're not sure what exactly it is that they want.

Cute~

BASICALLY: 9.5/10
Cute little story about enemies to lovers in the workplace~ By some fate, the two male leads end up living together (of course), and, through that, they see different sides to each other. It does have a few cliche themes, and several plotholes, but there's nothing toxic about the plot, and the actors are good at what they do (all of them), and ALL OF THE SIDE CHARACTERS AND COUPLES ARE SO CUTE OMG. So, yeah. Definitely recommend to anyone wanting a bit of a slow burn (it's only 12 episodes, so it's not a SNAIL BURN, but it's not immediate either, which I can vibe with) adult romance, free of engineer students or high schooler lol

STORY: 9.5/10
As stated above, I think the overall story is cute and endearing. Both leads have something about them just make you love them, even when the boss is being overbearing and acting like a heartbroken tyrant at the beginning~ His rules are both ridiculous and practical, which is honestly what makes them infuriating (like, I can't argue with your logic, but WHERE'S YOUR HEART, ASSHOLE). The character development for both, though? 10/10. I deducted a bit because there's a point in the plot that I'm not fond of. It's nothing toxic, but it's just not my personal thing, so it didn't get the full 10 this time around~

ACTING: 10/10
There's a familiar face if you follow the HIStory BLs that Taiwan does~ The actor who plays Hiro (HIStory 1: My Hero's Aaron Lai) is in this, and I love him~ Aesthetically, he's gorgeous, but acting-wise, he's even better~ I love the way his eyes soften as he's falling, and the way he just melts and ugh. He's so good. Another star from the HIStory shows (HIStory 3: Make Our Days Count's Wayne Song) cameos in the last episode briefly, and that interaction ALSO made my day~ (Side Note: Go check out the HIStory shows! They're so good~ They're not related AT ALL, so each one can be enjoyed separately if one storyline interests you more than the others~ Moving on~)

MUSIC: 9/10
The music is good~ Nothing mind-blowing or out there, but the OST was nice nonetheless~ I thought the sound effects were good and nicely places, with the important moments enhanced by song choices, but I didn't save any songs this time around~

REWATCH: 10/10
Cute, 12-episode BL with adorable main leads and cute side couples? I'll rewatch this one until I HATE IT lol On a more serious note, it's definitely one I'll rewatch while cold this winter or in quarantine~

OVERALL: 9.5/10
It's nicely done~ There's not any real toxicity, the characters both have their rights and wrongs that they commit (never anything too horrid; just normal, I'm-still-growing-as-a-person-because-I'm-human-and-I-suck-sometimes problems that everyone has no matter how good they try to be), and the development for both of them is nice and realistic while still managing to make me scream in excitement and get yelled at 2am lol

For the record, I based my review mostly on AePete because they're the main couple, and the show spends most of it building their relationship.

With that being said, Ae is probably my favorite character in a BL (don't listen to me; I have more favorite characters than there are babies in China) but seriously: he's so open and honest and he doesn't give a damn what others say about him. That kind of strong character is important for someone like Pete, who's very docile and reclusive. I don't believe in the saying "opposites attract," but this is a case of: my weakness is their strength, and they grow from it. It's honestly a wonderful, heart-felt story all together.

And the acting? THE ACTING. In case you didn't know, Saint (Pete) is ANYTHING but shy in real life (he's actually mischievous and playful) with Perth (Ae) being the shy one of the two, and I think that makes this drama that much more amazing because you would NEVER guess that with how great their acting is. if you watch this show because of nothing else, watch it for AePete.

TinCan. Tin-freaking-Can. I know they have their own story in the book (and it's has a better ending) and (now) I know they're having a second season, but, before, when I watched this, I had NO idea I would love them as much as I did. Honestly. Like Can, Tin pissed me off SO BADLY that I cheered when Can hit him. BOTH TIMES. I was like, "Hit him again." But then, also like Can, I was won over slowly, and my eyes opened to what Tin was a person, and I hate him for making me love him if you wanna know the truth.

The acting for these two is just as impressive as Perth and Saint, honestly. Mean (Tin) has a good talent for showing emotions on his face, and it hurts THAT MUCH MORE. And Plan (Can)--I mean, I've loved Can since his Make It Right days, so I'm a bit biased, but he's also a great actor.

Because it needs to be said even though their storyline isn't as intertwined: I don't like Kengkla and Techno. I love Techno as a character (I literally adore his ditzy, air-headed personality), but I think he deserves better than Kengkla. Kengkla was manipulative, forceful, and just downright NOT a good person, and it actually made me feel bad for the naive Techno. I know they have their own story (and the book is translated into English, fun fact), but I can't get past the rape, and make NO mistake: it was rape. And it's downright distasteful, especially when you have Tar's story in here revolving around why rape is TRAUMATIZING.

Tar (Earth, whom I love as na actor as well) and Tum's story wasn't as... filled out as I had hoped, so I can't say too much about them. I originally liked that the story was trying to touch on something as important and TRAUMATIZING as rape since I have watched BLs where people just look RIGHT PAST IT like it's nothing, but I felt like they could've expanded it more and given Tar more time throughout the story to grow (which I understand the reason he didn't is because the book for TumTar isn't out yet to my knowledge, but still). With the stupid KengklaTechno storyline, however, Tar's story seemed washed out.
