Well...I said I would change my rating once I'm done with this drama but alas....my rating stays the same.

If I had known this series was going to go the way it did I wouldn't have watched the first season over. That was a BIG BIG BIG mistake. But it's not my fault because I thought the second series was going to be like the first.

I was so dead wrong. This series was so bad that it made me go back and see who the writers were. I was thinking did the original writers do something wrong to the new writers?

Sadly enough it was the same writers!!! How could they have done this to the people who fell in love with the first series??

To anybody who watched the first drama, everything that you loved in the first drama....it's not there in this drama if you haven't seen it.

There were stupid things in this drama that was a waste. For instance the so-called 'evil' characters who struggled to speak Chinese. There was no purpose for any of them. The extra counters...why?? Another waste. Ju Seok becoming more powerful than anybody and the explanations as to how he was so powerful didn't make any sense. Not to mention the fighting scenes if that's what you call it. It was more like a telekinesis battle than anything. Everybody got choked by thin black air so many times that I was shocked they were still able to function.
Then there's So Mun who turned out to be the cockiest and most powerful of the bunch while Mo Tak just sat back in the shadows. Mae Ok was the only character who progressed. She fought more but still had that endearing heart of hers. That was the one saving face for me. Then there was a gun battle....why??

The last episode had me skipping through a lot. For the take down to be so quick it sure was drawn out. The series could've easily ended within the first few episodes but again, everything was drawn out.
I wanted to like this series but it wasn't the same as the first. I shouldn't have been so greedy by wanting a second season to come out.
For what it's worth the very last few minutes of episode 12 was worthy of a second watch.

if a drama is good and they only stick with one season, I will be fine with that.

Here's my take on what I've seen so far. I watched season one in 2021 but went back to rewatch this a few weeks ago after finding out there was going to be a season 2. I wanted to vividly remember why I loved the first season and I'm being truthfully honest. I'm glad I rewatched the first season because to me it seemed like it picked up right where it left off once they were able to get rid of the second main antagonistic group.
The plots are the same. The revenge factor is the same except that some scenes are a bit more grittier than the first. Some of the cast that made it seem like they were going to be in season 2 is not in season 2 so far.

I love the cast but it seems like the two guys are dumber than dirt this time around. For one to be good with cars and the other a rocket scientist their skills are truly dismal in the second season. I love their chemistry but I really don't like side kicks who act like Jim Carey.

Unfortunately I knew who the antagonist was before the sixth episode. Makes me wonder how that scenario is going to play out.

I'm hoping against all possible hope that there's no romance in this. It never bodes well and it would be a waste. I got a funny feeling that it will go in that direction. I'm hoping it won't.

Alas as for me, I'm loving the second season. After coming from watching The Glory and it's dismal watered down revenge drama, this one is exceeding my expectations so far.

I just binged on this yesterday. I was all for seeing another bad a** female fighter! It's about doggone time!! Korea needs to portray Korean actresses better than they do. I grow tired of the cliche sappy romance from a love sick, stupid, and poor actresses. I do believe that's not what Korean actresses who portray ordinary females are like.

My rating for this quickly dwindled by the 8th episode. Once again we have the boy hates girl motif but then all of a sudden he turns out to like her and then they have this fling and then something stupid happens because of love. Ugh....I HATE HATE HATE dramas like that!! It ruins the whole atmosphere. I didn't see anywhere where there was any type of romance in this which was another reason why I eagerly watched this.

I liked the female lead. I'm always for a Korean actress who's tough as nails and take no junk. She was relentless to the end!

This story hit home for me because it's something that happens in real life which happened to me last year. The scenario is different but the turn out was the same. The plot was all about revenge and it didn't stray. I did get confused by the 'who dunnit' factor because of what was said in the last episode.

I'm glad this only had 8 episodes. I don't think it would've been strong enough for the usual 12-16 episodes.

Will I watch this again? Most likely no. I do love action though but this won't hold the same feelings if I watch it again. Maybe somewhere down the line I may watch it again. Maybe.

I just finished watching this and I don't know how I feel about what I just saw.

I'm a martial arts fanatic. I will watch any and everything martial arts related. The title got to me and of course the fighting previews reeled me in.

The main character gets introduced as not having a life. He's easily bored if he's not having any kind of fun from winning what he thinks are challenges. He stumbles upon a person getting beat and he winds up helping that person with his martial art skills which gets told to someone in the ankle monitoring department of the police station. He learns the person he helped will be out of commission for 5 weeks and with his martial art skills, the ankle monitoring department could use some help with dealing with the difficult ones who won't obey the ankle monitoring rules. He then takes the job because he thinks it's fun. He then realizes the job he'll be doing isn't so fun because most involves sexual assault crimes against children. This right here could be a trigger for some which is why I think this movie treaded very lightly on the subject.

Now that I'm thinking about how I felt what I saw, the word 'light' explains it. This movie was very light. It only told the crimes of the ankle monitoring perps. Only two actors showed a light dusting of why they had to wear their ankle monitors.

The main bad guy hardly had any back story. We just know he's a horrible person that shouldn't be around kids. He gets out of jail only to pick up where he left off. This happens to be the heart of the movie but again, it was lightly done.
You get a few sprinkles of fighting scenes thrown in. The guy recruits his best friends to help capture the bad guy.....and that's about it.
He faces the bad guy again after the bad guy and his goons manage to injure the first MML and the other ML 's.

It ends with the hero saving the day...as usual...and that's it.

I usually gripe about Korean movies being a lot of fluff with no explanations on a lot of things and this one was like that. Luckily it wasn't drawn out and wrapped up in a news segment like a lot of Korean movies tends to do.

If you want a light hearted crime movie with some fighting thrown in, here's your movie.

I'm going to talk about the takeaways from this drama and there's A LOT OF 'EM!

First we learn the ML has CIPA-a person who can't feel pain, right? But it's only shown in the first episode and it's a really short clip.
We learn the FL develops and instant crush on the ML which is a heavy eye roll for me.

Then we see weak plots about different characters exhibiting pain that barely gets covered.

One episode has a supposedly virus outbreak but that quickly dwindled.

Then the FL learns of the ML's secret and she becomes even more clingy and naggy ( yeah not a word but I can't think of anything else.) She becomes so annoying that I began to look elsewhere when she starts whining and crying over stupid stuff. I had to ask myself is there not ONE episode where's she's not crying and wondering why the ML don't have feelings for her or why he's not showing enough feelings for her?? At different points she made his issue all about her.

The next is that prosecutor and nurse. Call me crazy but the way she handled the guy who had anal cancer was so wrong and yet she didn't get in trouble for it and that prosecutor should've been disbarred for trying to get someone who served their time fired. Isn't that harassment?

Then out of the blue the ML starts having problems with his health. Episode 1-8 he's doing fine then the next few episodes he's having health problems then close to the end he goes to do some research about his disease. We see he's not doing good then the writers time stamp the last two episodes of making it seem as if three years past and the ML shows up out of the blue and the FL goes into her clingy, crying, nagging self...again... By this time I'm skipping a lot of her whining and literally stalking the ML because he didn't call her.

The last episode was the most let down of all the other episodes. The writers had no where to go and just let the uninspired sappy romance go on forever!!! The other doctor and sister's relationship was more believable than the FL and ML.

I like medical dramas and thought this would be a good one but alas, I only watched because I literally had nothing else to do. I just hurried and watched the last few episodes just to get them over with. I could've dropped this but I was curious as to how it would've turned out. With the same three songs being played over and over in each episode, the crying, the sappy uninspiring romance....this has definitely been a medical drama let down for me and is a sign to truly skip dramas that have romance in it. No matter how good it is, if it's got romance in it like this I will avoid it like the plague!

This was a very watered down drama with heavily loose trials thrown in. This drama shouldn't have been called Divorce Attorney Shin...It should've been called the American version of Friends because that's basically how the show went. Three best friends hanging out on a daily basis with a few watered down cases involved.

I watched this drama because I love the three male leads. I've enjoyed seeing each in their own respective dramas. I didn't know the MML knew how to play the piano!! Of all the dramas I've seen him in, his piano skills was never introduced or I missed something. It's good to see hidden talents of actors though.

That trot music and them singing...waste of drama minutes for me!

I did like the second FL who worked in her grandmother's restaurant. I didn't care for the first FL. She was too fluffy for me. Her doom and gloom facial expressions was what irked me the most. She did outshine in the last episode where she went off on one of her viewers. If they would've made her a bit more feisty throughout the series then maybe I would've liked her. The mother and son duo with her didn't mix either. It was awkward to say the least. The kid had better sense than the mom.

Other characters that was apart of the law firm was useless. The new male lawyer was annoying to say the least.

The mediocre cases that was presented made me wonder what was the point?

I did, though, like how they portrayed how children react to adult problems. Kids are more in tune with their surroundings more than you think. Those two little boys out did the adult actors!!

I also had a problem with how slow each episode was. Either I'm losing interest in things a lot faster with these dramas or they're that slow. By golly I found myself pausing each and every episode more than 5 times. Don't even get me started on the last episode...OMG!!! It was only 1:20 but it felt way longer than it should've been.

In my reviews I always capitalize on the last episode because that's suppose to bring in the closure of all the previous episodes but a lot of the times the last episode is redundant. This sort of was. By the end only a few just desserts was served. In my opinion I really wanted the new wife to get obliterated but nothing came to be and that made my blood boil.

I've been hitting a lot of Korean drama slumps lately! I don't care for a lot of rom-coms but that seems to be all that's left. I'm hoping Korea will bring some better dramas that aren't slow paced and don't have any romance in it...Otherwise I'll be going back to my old routine before I knew Korean dramas existed.

When I saw a female lead with strong fighting skills I had to watch. There's not that many in Korea so when a female who can fight pops up I'm there.

I also noticed the two main leads were in Money Heist. So again, had to watch.

I gotta say this movie was a let down. Weak character plots all around had me irritated in the end. There's no back story of the main FL. Her best friend's back story was weak as all get up and the main ML who plays the villain was even worse.

The movie lightly touched up on females being videotaped and blackmailed. They make it seem like the police chief is in on this as well but again, every scenario that was deposited into this movie was lackluster and that's putting it nicely.

All we get is the main FL can fight. The pace was very slow. The bad bad guys got taken out in less than 10 minutes. The ending even less than that.

This is why I tend to stay away from Korean movies. They have no life to them. Stick to the Korean dramas. You'll be more satisfied than this movie.

Allow me to be the odd one out the bunch when I say I am truly upset for watching this drama!! Of course I watched it like everyone else: because of Lee Joon Gi. I've only seen him in four dramas and I loved him in every single one because...you guessed it-mad fighting skills. But alas, he wasn't my favorite character in this drama. It was Park Chul Min who played the father. Even though he was barely in it, the scenes he was in had me laughing. You could tell he enjoyed playing this role.

I wasn't really digging this drama anyway because of how slow it was. I was going to give it a seven but the very last episode made my blood boil!!! i was eager to see how this ended and was hoping for justice but I wonder if something else is going to be done with this drama hence the reason for the ending.

Even though I've only been watching Korean dramas for almost 3 years now I have come to accept that any 12-16 episode drama will not have a good last episode and this one was no exception.

If you want to see justice served up to the very end I'm telling you right now, you're going to be disappointed. Had I known this I wouldn't have watched this drama.

Disappointing last episode

My review is based off the last episode from this drama. To me the last episode should be the nail in the coffin. The final closure from all the other episodes that took place in order to get to the finale right?

Not this one.

It was well over an hour long so I thought everything was going to be pieced together and everything that happened in the first 10 episodes will close out in the 11th.

In my opinion it was a let down. It didn't seem like justice was really served. The first episode had me eagerly anticipating how the bad guys were going to pay but in the end it fizzled. There was too much emphasis on one thing when that could've been wrapped up either in the first 10-20 minutes or so or the last 10-20 minutes. I was given more fluff than I needed. Plus everything went on for so long that most of the plots just ended by story telling from the news. Korean dramas have a tendency to do that. If they can't act it out they'll talk it out in a news segment and that's why my overall score is the way it is.

It ended as if there may be another Queen Maker drama. For this drama's sake I'm so set against it. I'm glad there were only 11 episodes. I don't think it would've lasted for the normal 16.

I wasn't going to finish this drama after watching the first episode but someone suggested that I should finish watching because it gets better.

Well, to be fair I stuck it out because I was hoping as nice as the main ML was he wasn't going to go by the actual psychopath's diary.

I'm not going to go into a whole spiel about this drama. I'm just going to talk about the takeways that happened throughout this series.

First the comedic scenes. There were a lot of comedy scenes but I only laughed a few times. It was because 'in my opinion' some of the comedic elements were too over the top. The constant yelling, screaming, whining, and crying by the main ML didn't help much.

The dumb skills of the two constable officers. The fact that a lot of the times when the main ML did something off the wall these two cops thought it was just adorable when in the real world that person would be evaluated for mental issues or got arrested.

The private detective who'd been a police officer for 20 years which turned into 15 close to the end of the series was horrible at blackmailing. You would think someone with a 20 year skill would be a master of their craft but they made this guy look like a amateur blackmailer.

The second ML was just too creepy. He was the only one that was more believable throughout the series but he did stupid stuff too.

There was one scenario in one of the episodes where the main ML was stuck in a car with charcoal bricks. I guess that's commonly used for suicide purposes and the main ML could've rolled down the windows, or he could've slid to the passenger's side of the car and unlock the door-because the driver side was blocked, but no he just sat there, screamed, cried...did everything but the right thing in order to survive.

The last episode was the reason why my rating is the way it is. It didn't have that closure that I was hoping for. It dragged and it just seemed like the writer didn't know how to end the series so they just put in a little of this and put in a little of that but left out things that I thought would be the icing on the cake.

There were a lot of people who stated that this was the best drama ever. No offense but I've seen better.

Dokgo-Poisonous drum. You'll die if you hear the beat.

This mini series reminded me of Tong Memories. It had the same concept: who ever is the best fighter gets mad props and will be feared by many.

So here's where I'll describe the two: Tong, I believe had 9 mini episodes. If you banked them all together, they probably equaled out to one episode of Dokgo Rewind. Dokgo had 20 mini episodes which was combined into 4-40+ minute episodes.
In my opinion this was much better because there were no cut scenes when a fight was about to ensue. There were female side kicks in both but in Tong they made it seem like the females were going to fight but didn't.
This series didn't have that. Everyone fought where as in Tong, the main character barely fought.

This is the kind of dramas that drew me into what Korea had to offer in the first place.

I'm a action fanatic and if martial arts gets thrown in, then you have made yourself a happy woman!

This had fighting scenes throughout. I love how things went in my favor. There were some sad parts which I wasn't expecting but the justice was done in the right places.

As I said, I'm a action fanatic and there were reviews where this series was disliked. I was going to pass on this because of the negative reviews but this isn't for everybody. It certainly was for me.

Disappointing

OK, so I stuck this out as long as I could but I stopped watching before episode 15 ended. This series was already grating my nerves because of how slow each episode went but by the time the 15th episode came around, it made me feel like I wasted my time!
So the writer decides to pinpoint several people as killers to throw off the viewers which in point almost worked. I sort of figured it out around the 12the episode but my suspicion was confirmed by episode 14. I just wanted to know the reason for the killings and episode 15 let me know...it was just for fun...There was no reason behind the killings!!!

The MML and MFL were already annoying to begin with. The stupid things they did just made my eyes roll. It was already absurd by being able to see people's past by touching their butt because that's how the FML came into her powers. A meteor storm happened while she was examining a pregnant cow and was touching the cow's butt when the meteor hit. That cow gave three people powers but the doctor was the dumbest but I stuck it out because the first few episodes were cute and quirky sans the bully MML cop. How can you body slam a female and not get into trouble over that??

Anyway, when the protagonists starts dying before the end of the series it lets me know the very last episode will be a true waste so I seriously doubt I'll be missing anything. Each episode dragged on and on and I found myself pausing each episode about 2-3 times because I couldn't bring myself to finish the episodes all at once. This series did not lead me to binge watching.

I don't know what's going on with these Korean dramas. The last good Korean drama that led me to binge watching was First Responders season 2 and that was back in September...Haven't seen a good Korean drama since and I'm starting to lose my faith with these so-called Korean dramas. It's already hard enough as it is to find something worthy to watch without all that so-called swoon worthy romance crapola.

Well I for one just finished watching this and I don't know...I liked it. If it didn't have any fighting scenes I probably still would've watched it.

I'm not familiar with the main character but his fighting was what kept me watching. I'm all for any actor who has mad martial art skills. And no, I didn't watch it for drool factors but for the fighting and yes, a bit of bromance. I don't know why but I absolutely love Korean bromances! Not only was the bromance there, the chemistry with each cast member was great as well. That's why I enjoyed this series so much.

I even found myself for rooting for some of the bad guys close to the end.

There was a bit of romance in here which I try to avoid but it wasn't overly done in my case. Again, the fighting scenes were great. I wish there was more to solving the 'who dunnit' factor but hey, the writers can only do so much.

It's funny...whenever there's a series with a low score I end up liking. If it has a high score I question it because most of the time if it involves a male lead it will get a high score because of how the guy looks. Some reviewers should be ashamed of themselves for that.

So being in a Korean action drama drought I decided to watch a Korean movie instead. Since July of last year Korean action dramas have been my go-to and has helped fill a daily void of not having anything to do and to watch.

But it seems like the Korean action dramas-sans the cliche romance has come to a stand still for me.

I watched this movie because of Park Seo Joon from Itaewon Class and have grown to like him. His partner in crime Kang Ha Neul was awesome as well.

Even though this wasn't a top notch action/mystery movie it was something to watch to surpass a few hours.

The relationship between the two main characters as besties won me over. They also had awesome supporting cast members as well.

There were some things that touched a reality shock such as runaways and illegal infertility scams but again, it was something to help surpass the time.

If you just want to do that just watch. It didn't disappoint me in the least.

My first Korean action drama

I didn't know about Korean dramas until I saw this on my Netflix. I read the synopsis and decided to watch to see if it was something I would be interested in.

This was my very first Korean action drama and I liked it. I love martial arts and when I see this offered in movies or TV I'm immediately drawn to it so one will know I highly enjoyed the fighting scenes.

While the story line is a eye roll-highly impossible for someone to receive electronic eye implants-it still held my interest.

I liked the direction it was going until it strayed. It completely went in a direction I wasn't expecting but I still watched to the very end.

I have been out of the loop as far as Korean dramas are concerned. If this wasn't on Netflix I wouldn't have known Korean dramas existed. Since then I've been trying to find any and every Korean action drama I could find and is glad I found some. I hit a snag but hopefully more will pop up.

Thank you, Rugal for introducing me to Korean action dramas.
