This is probably one of the best directed C-Dramas set in Modern Time
I gotta say, this show has me hooked. It's shot and directed incredibly well and the leads play their roles to perfection. It also helps that the on screen chemistry between all of the main and side characters really works in this show. And the plot surrounding these great details is engaging enough that it feels like episodes fly by rather than drag. I don't really understand why this is rated as low as it is at the time of me writing this review. It's honestly better than most dramas of its type with a MC having a secret past or past life as a badass cliché.Esta resenha foi útil para você?
Best airing Drama right now
I was a bit surprised when I read that Chinese audiences disliked the show when it premiered because honestly this is a fantastic lighthearted show about a falling in love while doing what she loves. I'm so over Dramas that are melodramatic and this was perfect for people like me that just wants some happiness. Now let me further elaborate the great things this show does.-----Acting-----
Every single actor in this show is fantastic. Especially the leads. I never feel as if they're phoning it in or they're their real life selves rather than the characters they are playing. The characters feeling genuine might have helped as well.
-----Characters----
For the most part, every character (even if not shown with the most screen time) has their own quirks or personality traits. And lesser characters still shine due to the great actors portraying them. The main leads in particular are fascinating to watch because they both have very individualistic or proud personalities but different ways of showing them which plays well with their dynamic when interacting with one another. Speaking of which, their chemistry is breathtaking and at the level I've only seen in the 'Intense Love' series.
----Story----
The story isn't revolutionary but it's the execution in which it plays out that makes it a very addicting watch. It's similar to a fish out of water scenario mixed with a rise to power story in a sense( Mixed in with romance throughout). Again, this wouldn't be as good as it is without the well defined characters interacting with each other believably to their own personalities. The story also doesn't make characters do ridiculous things for the sake of drama. They only do what their characters would naturally do, which makes them feel like real people that live in china rather than from a TV show. That's very difficult for dramas to do properly and makes the show ever more admirable.
------Conclusion------
This show is utterly fantastic so far and I hope many more people watch this show. It's not just the aspects above that are fantastic but the cinematography, animation and editing that feel very professional and done with care. Watch this show. You won't regret it.
