First off, I watched this for Sung Joon and UEE.
I’m a fan of UEE (even though truthfully, I really haven’t seen most of her dramas) and also a big fan of Sung Joon but I think I finished this because of Park Hyungsik and Lim Jiyeon’s characters. I will complain about a lot of stuff but I did finish the drama and actually liked the ending. The process to the end was a bit annoying to deal with but all is good and it was a nice drama.

Note: From here on, I will be using their character names instead of the actor’s names.

Story: 6/10
I don’t think I’m too fond of watching shows about chaebol families. There’s just too much drama and bloodshed going on. (LOL) Although I don’t often watch them, I can say that this is one of your typical rich family dramas. One character is insanely rich and another is poor and they fight for their love despite their status blah blah blah. I really didn’t like the story of this either. There were just too many plot twists and all. The main story with Yoon Ha and Joon Ki was confusing. It’s like it needed saving and more problems just came up. However, I did love the side of the story with Changsoo and Ji Yi. The start of the relationship was a bit cliché (but who’s kidding, almost the entire drama is cliché) but I felt the happiness, the sadness, the hurt, and all the emotions with it. It was confusing and whole jumble of problems but as the story ended and everything is becoming resolved, I felt like it was a really good closure for the people watching.

I LOVED IT. It was a really unique story and I don’t think I’ve seen something like it before. I mean, maybe there’s a similar one out there but not to my knowledge. For me, as I’ve been watching animes and reading mangas as well, I typically don’t like having fantasy and romance together but this was beyond my expectations. I thought at first it will be a bit like Master’s Sun- a girl sees ghosts and then a ghost bothers her and then somehow, somewhere she’ll fall in love with the Chef but I have been proven wrong. I love how they were consistent with the story. Kim Seulgi was apparently a virgin ghost and has a grudge about it that’s why she can’t ascend to heaven. It wouldn’t be a Korean drama if not for the amazing fate (more like coincidences) that it just so happens that all the main casts have one connection all together- the ghost. The story about finding about the real grudge of the ghost, Bongsun and Chef falling in love, and finding out mysteries from 3 years ago while sticking to the ghost story was so great. I loved how they were very consistent about it. As a person who has seen quite a lot, I tend to look for loopholes in the story but I haven’t seen one in this story-wise. I think I really just have been rambling but I do like the story and it’s very original. The ending was a bit rushed spending one episode revealing everything but I found closure in it. Some people say it was your typical send-to-abroad and then a makeover ending but for me, it was needed. All in all, it was a cute story and I’ll tell more about how I loved the characters in the “character” section.
