Stealing someone else's headline: Sweet

I think one of the few Korean BL's that does not suffer from the short episodes/runtime. They spaced it out well, and resolved it pretty good.
I'm not sure how to describe this feeling that's coming from this series? Sort of like everything is softened with a woozy filter. (Not literally) The tragic prince with his trusty bodyguard that is doomed to be exiled, have assassin's sent after him, and is ordered to commit suicide in the end. Who finds this weird/intriguing person who gives him some hope again, and a reason to laugh. And this student who likes art(history) who gets send into a painting, which is actually the past, to meet with this prince and is intrigued by him in his own way, and bring some of his light to him. And then the bodyguard who has off course always loved the prince, who doesn't trust the intruder at first, but learns to like him, even love him, because he brings a smile back to the face of his prince.
And in the end all 3 off them escape from the painting/past and go to the future to finish their lives their together. (They absolutely end up together in a poly relationship. It isn't explicit, but you can't convince me otherwise. They all care so obviously for eachother in their own way. )
The series manages to feel slow paced? Even though it is only 8 episodes of 10 minutes each.
They never explained why he gets send into the painting/past... but I'm not sure if it really needs explaining. Higher powers and fate and all. I'm good.

I won't say it's good

I can't say it was a -good- drama exactly, but you know, I really enjoyed it?
It was very episodic, not really an overarching plot. And basically a soap opera, having fixed one problem, immediately falling into the next one. And problems at a scale, where I would advice every sane person to consult a therapist. But you know, sometimes I do enjoy me some overdramatic situations, where I can just be washed away in the emotions and dramatics of it all.
I also appreciated that the couple stayed pretty much together for the whole series and had each others back (or Leo had mostly Fiat's back, really) except for, off course, the last ep, because this is still a typical (thai) BL. So I don't even consider that a spoiler really.
Leo is very possessive, but I think I was pretty oke with it. (Until ep 12, where I went, maybe... back off a bit, and go see before-mentioned therapist) Both would really benefit from looking into starting a healthy dom/sub relationship, me thinks, with some more communication overall.
I really liked Natsu, here whole personality, and her friendships. And her apparent relationship with Anda. Even though it's never really more explicit than some throwaway lines. I love their lesbian energy regardless.
Second couple was cute, but tbh, wasn't overly invested in them. I did really like the sibling energy between Fiat and Leon.
How to end this review? This could have been way better if they would have digged a lot deeper into all of the trauma of these two, because oh boy, do they have some. And it's all very prominent in how their relationship is/has form(ed).

Gave the music a 4.5 because... I can't really remember any of it. Except when it came on during an emotional scene, and I felt it pretty much ruined the moment so... It would have been a truly neutral 5 without that.

The beginning was promising

I liked the first part of the show. Actually pretty much all the way until around episode 8 or 9 when the confession happened. The pace was slow, I agree on that, but I also think that the pace really suited the show itself, so that is not a complained in my book. I do feel however that in the last few episodes they did not have the time to work everything out?

So the conflict starts with the confession, with Aek freaking out. And I do not understand why he is freaking out so much? There are some vague reasons about him thinking Aue is just playing with him, him hurting his arm and thus not able to to compete (which he does than anyway without any problems? so idk about that) and a more general freakout about his own insecurities and fear about his future and disappointing his mum? But it never really gets explored further? Because in episode 10 he is suddenly capable to participate in the contest after all, Aek confesses to his mother that he might have feelings for Aue followed by a montage that I understood as Aek being happy to finally have set his mind right, but in contrast to Aue who is still in the, it's really all over now. But then in the next scene they hug, and everything is suddenly alright? No explanation, no talking. Just boom. And that just really pissed me off. I didn't feel like anything was resolved at all.

Also the relationship between Aek and (I think his name was) Pock, that other junior chef, never gets explored. And we also don't know what actually happened with him and his inheritance from his dad, the whole reason he joined the competition. Except a vague shot of him throwing his trophy on the ground.

Last but not least, the second couple, between Prem and Vich. I was -not- interested in that. I think mostly because, and I'm sorry, but the actor who played Vich wasn't very good in acting. And the actor of Prem wasn't that good either... I just... did not feel any chemistry between those two. I sill gave the acting a 6, because I did like the acting of the rest of the cast? But they just... brought it down.

Music: didn't stay with me, so a generic six does the trick.
