Darker, Deeper

Marry My Husband is a show I began anticipating after learning about Park Min Young's dedication to the role. I have read the webtoon but not the novel on which this is based.

Darker
Compared to webtoon the story is darker and intense. After 9th episode, whatever fluff and fun was left had been drained. The sudden genre change took time to adjust and the viewing became a chore. Upon acclimatising, the twists and turns are justified to nicely put a bow on it and give the perfect ending.

Deeper
The character development is deeper, making it easier to understand each character's actions like Yura and Sumin's. Although Yura's character comes off as unnecessary, the ending disproves it.

Not a 10
Sometimes a bit draggy to intensify the drama and the sudden genre change to melodrama makjangish vibe prevents this from making it into my favourites of 2024.

Top Notch acting
Song Ha Yoon and Lee Yi Kyung stole the show. On a side note, Park Min Young felt like a fashion goddess, " like you could wear that to work?!". Na In Woo was cute. He was different and better than his previous work Jinxed at first. Choi Gyu Ri was the best cast. Gong Min Jung was a bit stiff not sure if the character was meant to be like that. So good to see Ha Do Gwon in not a crazy-villain-role.

Music
Bad Liar and My All Dreams come true are easy on the ear. But the nod to BTS was a chef's kiss.

Marry My Husband nudges to not put up with regrets and fight on.
