I started to watch japanese movies and dramas around 2012, I started because I have always liked anime/manga and learned that my favorite animes/mangas like Death Note and OHSHC were made into live action dramas/movies.

My first anime: Fullmetal Alchemist.
My favorite animes: Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, Code geass 1&2, D.gray man, soul eater, OHSHC, sacred seven, blue exorcist, death note, S-cry-ed, Yuri on ice, lovely complex, the wallflower, sekaiichi hatsukoi, vampire knight, black butler, 07-ghost, D.N angel and some more... :P

My first japanese movie: Death Note(loved the anime!)

 
My first japanese drama: Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge(loved this anime too!).

My first korean movie: Antique bakery.

I started watching mostly dramas from Japan with the themes yankee, school, friendship and the likes and then a lot of action, thriller and psychological/mind games-dramas. I loved these short random and cute dramas that made me fall in love with japanese media. My life changed when I (I think when i was around 14, so about 2012?) discovered that bl (or yaoi/shounen ai from the animes) wasn't only animated, but there were live action movies and dramas around the theme. My life kinda revolved around watching asian media and according to my statistics I've watched a total of 500 dramas and 365 movies so far, that's kinda insane xD.

My earliest bl movies and dramas was the Takumi-kun movies, boys love the movie, itsuka no kimi e, the love of Siam, a frozen flower, ai no kotodama and probably many more. At that time there wasn't a lot of bl media coming out, maybe 1 or 2 each year. So being a BL-fan at that time was a struggle to say the least, we had to watch all of the old (and sometimes VERY strange and mostly tragic) movies xD. 

I guess Love sick was one of the first bl media that ''started'' the trend, in some way or another. Then the extreme outbreak of production didn't start before 2020-2021 I would say? Nowadays there's so many bl dramas coming out it's almost impossible to keep up.

My first bl was the Takumi-kun movies. Even to this day it's so special to me <3
