This drama has everything a delusion romance fanatic would want. From absolute jerk of a male lead to the most delusional, gullible and thick headed female lead. The storyline is the most cliche thing ever and it's feels like the writers were torn between teaching filial values, adhering the law and giving this story an obligatory happy ending.
What's more, the love triangles (yes there are more than one) for the male and the female leads don't cease to end nor does the jealousy and misunderstandings which occur due to lack of communication. Also, the male lead has his own fan club (which is creepy considering he is not a celebrity) who just like the lead characters are delusional and jerks of the highest order.
Also the female lead's character is the utopia of patriarchy, she's soft spoken, docile, doesn't complain and nor does she believes that she deserves to be treated well.

Unlike most of the kdramas and other East Asian and South East Asian dramas that I have watched, this one is the most sane and normal drama which does not alters the mindset of young viewers into believing that "If the guy mistreats you, he loves you."
I love how the story gradually picks up the pace and the acting is very natural and so is the development of the characters. It's a good watch.
The best thing is that the female lead is a strong character and all the male characters in this drama listen to the female characters and respect the female characters and their decisions.

Typical patriarchal and sexist drama that is ingrained with sexism

Good things first, I simply love the cast of the drama and how there are instances where women working after marriage and giving birth is normalised and the attempt of the drama to normalise divorce and dysfunctional families. I loved how it has moved away from the traditional notion of the family. I liked it's attempt to address the issue of breast cancer.
What I don't like is the sheer insensitivity the drama has had on various topics that have been present in the society since time immemorial. It's very evident that the characters and the story was written by men without consulting even a single woman. For starters, no woman in her right mind would continue to like a person who gives her shit or doesn't treat her well. Any woman would prefer to be with a man who knows how to take care of himself, helps with the household chores and treats her well rather than being with an entitled, arrogant manchild who can't do anything by himself. But since this drama is written by well men who want to be with women who take care of them just like their mothers (or who suffer from Oedipus complex) the woman chases an arrogant and entitled manchild who doesn't value her or treat her well. This also promotes the most toxic mentality that "if a guy doesn't treat you well, he likes you" and "women should leave behind their dignity and self-respect for the man they love".
These reasons ruined what would have been the most amazing rom com korean dramas of all time.

There are a lot of things that i had a problem with in the drama. First of all, why is it that when two people are shown as competitors, they also have to compete for liking the person. like if they have good and a healthy dating life, they cant be competitors. What i hated was that the women in the drama although started off as powerful women, they were eventually reduced to love interests of the male characters. The fact that the female character described as young genius multitalented athletic strong sociopath who had been to various places and had friends of varying nationalities and gender/ sexual identities was portrayed as a transphobic racist in the begining was kind of hard to digest. It portrayed paedophilia in certain parts. Also the typical chabeol shit , about being portrayed as the negative character.
Although this drama tries to be like about how we should let go of racism and queerphobia and stuff, but its like too cliche and fails to achieve that aspect and ends up being a typical kdrama about the chabeol as the villian.
