Story, comedy, emotions, story, this has everything.
When I saw the 21 pages of reviews, I thought I didn't need to make one. But here I am, because I can't get over this show.
I won't say that this is freaking perfect, or anything, because it does have flaws, there were parts in the show I liked less than others, but I'll focus on the good points here.
The initial story is quite simple. A special force soldier and a doctor trying to find a way to love each other in the middle of chaotic evenments.
But it's well done. The introduction of the drama itself shows these colors. A serious / action based first scene, followed by a comic / funny one. This is a great description for the whole show. One second, you find yourself laughing / appreciating the leads, the next second you're crying your ass off. And it's reaaally nicely done. Even if I watched it four or five times already, I still laugh, I still cry.
This is taged as Action, Comedy, Romance, Melodrama. The action part is really good, the fights are insane, there's nothing to say on it apart than "this is freaking good". The comedy, I won't come back on it, it's nicely done. The melodrama tag isn't there just for the record. It really makes sense. And this is almost my fav part, I think. The romance is really nicely done. The way they try to find themselves, they try to make it work... It's not my fav part tbh, I can even say that now when I watch it I somehow skip the "only romance" parts. But I remember really liking it at first. And I still do! Just slightly less than the rest.
Yoo Sijin was the first role I saw Song Joongki in. And I fall in love in not even two seconds. Yoo Sijin is that character everyone can only love. And the haters just hate him for being perfect. He is handsome, funny but serious when it's needed, charismatic, a great leader, he takes care of the people surrounding him, he's hardworking, he knows how to do a lot of things, and is reliable in crisis situations. I don't think I ever found him annoying once through the entire drama.
Seo Daeyoung, on an other hand, is more secret, less talkative, more rigid. But still funny, caring, gorgious, and loyal. We need more bromance like this in kdramas.
Yoon Myungjoo is this slightly annoying character you can't help but love. She's a little bit arrogant, but talented, really directive, but also caring. Her rivalry with kang moyeon is really funny, and her love story is insane.
Which leads me to Kang Moyeon. My less favorite character in the lead cast there. She's intelligent, beautiful, loved bby everyone... but indecisive, and sometimes it annoys me. I understand why she acts like this, but I can still remember two or three scenes where I really wanted to shake her a little bit.
The musics are legendary. If someone still doesn't know them, you've been living in a hole I think, because I knew half of them before even beginning the drama. No, that's a great bunch of OST we have here.
I don't know if there's more I can say without spoiling everything. And this isn't a drama that should be spoiled tho.
So just... take a great breath, sit down, and enjoy the ride. Because this is gonna hit you hard.
