Now I feel empty..

I just finished this drama last night and in my opinion, this is one of the best C-drama that I watched. I always like this kind of concept in C-drama, the eternal love. The plot also refreshing, not so typical. There are a big conflict between Heavenly Realm and Demon Realm which affect Mortal Realm, but I can say that it was more like an individual conflict, rather than a whole Realm conflict unlike others drama with this kind of concept.

Main Lead's character background is also understandable, as to why the FL and the ML acted like that (the history behind their choices and action). I find myself admire the FL but at the same time also irritated by her character. But when I try to see from her POV, then I understand why she behave like that. Still, her 'Sifeng, Sifeng' annoyed me so much, like, gurl you're one of the baddest FL in C-drama but why are you so weak and stupid when it comes to your so-called righteous sect and your senior manipulation? I like her character better before she regained her 6 sense and when she was the God of War. After she regained her 6 sense, she was like the center of manipulation. But then again, she was made into a 'puppet'. She is so stubborn when it comes to people she trust, actually it is a positive traits, but for her, it was also a negative traits. Why? because when she trust someone, she listen to them and doesn't believe anyone else until that trusted someone tells the truth (or she sees the evidence of that trusted someone betrays her). For example, when everyone told her that Sifeng is a demon, she believe him and she doesn't stop defending him (even if it means to go against her father). That is why her loyalties to Sifeng and to her so called righteous sect (including her family and HaoChen) is the source of the love and also the misunderstanding within the drama. She was torn between her love for Sifeng and the manipulation from her surroundings. She doesn't want to let down her family and her sect, but she doesn't have the heart to hurt Sifeng. Deep in her heart, she knew that it was impossible for Sifeng to lie to her. If only Sifeng tells everything to XJ, then for sure she will believe him. I hope the couple's relationship in this drama more like the couple's relationship in Legend of Fuyao where the FL and ML avoid misunderstandings by talking to each other. But it just my wishful thinking.. Back to FL story, her history as the Star of Mosha and God of War is so heart wrenching. I feel the sadness by being betrayed by his/her trusted so called soulmate (Bai Lin). The way this drama portrayed the back story in the Heavenly Realm is done so perfectly, I am amazed by how dramatic the storytelling was.

Star of Mosha, despite him being the Asura Clan, is not a bad person. Ironically, the evil mastermind behind all of the suffering the 3 realm get is done by the Dijun of the Heavenly Realm. Bai Lin's action impact deeply on Star of Mosha, God of War, and XJ (also XI Xuan and SF). Bai Lin's prejudice against the Demon Clan is very deep it became his obsession. Like the Heavenly Emperor said, the one who have inner demon is not XJ, but Bai Lin himself. His paranoia gets the best of him and it cost him his friendship and everything he had. If only he didn't disturb XJ's tenth tribulation, then XJ would've been get through it sooner. The reason why she doesn't succeed in her 9 tribulation before is because of her hatred and anger that doesn't dissipated. Her hatred was paid off by her 9 tribulation, and because of SF guidance in those tribulations. That's why on her tenth tribulation, she was able to feels the love and warmth from other people. Actually, all of this also explained by Heavenly Emperor to Bai Lin. SF played a big role on Star of Mosha/God of War/XJ's 1000 years died down anger. I really like how the story goes, the way it flows perfectly and how every story connects to each other.. It's rare to come across a drama like this. I think there's not many plot hole, maybe only one or two, but I don't even know it (I don't really give a f**k about the side character's drama except for Zihu-Wu Zhiqi, Tengshe, Ting Nu, and Liu Yiuhan).

Sifeng, I saw him as a hopelessly romantic. He endures all of the suffering for XJ in all realm. I'm touched by his unconditional love for XJ but it doesn't mean he didn't do anything wrong. He is in the wrong for hiding many things from XJ, for not truly truthful to XJ. Other than that, it was wrong for SF to treat XJ as a normal lover, because XJ's lack of sense made her childlike and inept to act like normal young adult. She needs guidance and protection (especially with all the toxic influence in XJ environment), but SF gave her that support only in the beginning of the story when she still lacks her 6 sense while her adaptability, even after she regained her 6 sense back, is much slower than others. SF's way of teaching XJ how to feel through food is actually the best way for her to understand better, and SF is the only one who can do that. But after the first misunderstanding (where SF have to spend a year in the Tower of Oblivion) that practice was gone. And after that? XJ learned everything the hard way. Actually, we don't get to see much from SF's story because the main story revolves around XJ. I want to know what happened to Xi Xuan in the Heavenly Realm, the reason why, how, and what made him fell in love with God of War in the first place. As far as I know, Xi Xuan is the Golden Bird XJ always talks to. But how they encounters each other? All we see is more of their connections in Mortal Realm. But what made him willing to strip off his celestial form for God of War? and is that the reason why SF death as a mortal is so avoided? because he can't go back to being Xi Xuan for 10.000 years? Will they repeat the circle of reincarnation for 10.000 years? and what will happen to XJ once 10.000 years passed? I think they can make 2nd season out of this.. (actually this is my wish because I can't get enough of XJ-SF)

This drama is worth rewatching, but I can't stand the misunderstanding that arises every time there's a chance. Oddly enough, SF and XJ characters grows on me slowly but sure. Little did I know, SF and XJ's already engraved on my mind. It's different from other lead in other drama where I'm captivated from the beginning mainly because of the leads visual (Ashes of Love, TMOPB) and then the story. It doesn't mean that the leads visual from this drama is inferior than other's drama leads. I'm not gonna compare the 3 together, there's resemblance on these 3 drama but they have their own uniqueness and the way their story goes is in a different path. The most important thing is I love the 3 of them, and I have a REALLY hard time to move on, to come back to reality. I'm sure many of you feels the same way as I do.. The only downside from this drama is the misunderstanding caused by the wicked, evil, cunning, manipulative, psychopath, paranoid Bai Lin is too much and I think half of the plot is only about the misunderstanding. Oh and also, the lack of Xi Xuan's backstory. I can give a perfect score if these 2 aspects got cut down.. Never, for once, I find this drama boring and it's rare for me to feel that way, especially with a drama that had so many misunderstanding.

And now I'm back to reality.. I don't know what to do after this, I don't have a backup drama and now I'm doomed..

Long awaited Dong Hua and Feng Jiu's love story

Just finish this drama and I am a bit disappointed with the last 10 ep, especially the ending. Maybe they don't have to make such a complicated plot such as Demon Elder's freedom will bring chaos to the world. From my observation, I don't think Miao Luo is a bad person because she never really wanted to fight Dong Hua, I can see it from the way she talk to him and she always says 'do you really want to fight me Dong Hua?' and one moment when the Bi Yi Bird Tribe try to use magical tool to reseal her, she said 'you really give me no choice'. And the last battle inside the Sanskrit Valley, she said 'don't forget who made me into a demon'. I can't help but to always remember Love and Redemption, and The Legend case (LOL).

Actually, I can't stand the first part of the drama especially the mortal arc and the romance blooms a bit late because of the draggy plot. Even after the romance already there, there are still tons of misunderstanding ahead of them. I really loathe the misunderstanding on the last 5 ep. They should've just proceed with the wedding and make the final battle happen after the wedding, not before, let alone on the day of the wedding.

The thing that I like the most about this drama is the feeling this drama gave me, the familiarity. There are some character that is not the same with the Eternal Love cast. At first, I can't accept it but after a while, naturally I get used to them. Another thing that I love is the chemistry and the love story between Dong Hua and Feng Jiu and the way they portrait the characters, I never see them as Dilraba Dilmurat and Vengo Gao but they are indeed Dong Hua and Feng Jiu (if you know what I mean).

I won't be mad if the writer decided to make 56 episode only about the love story of Dong Hua and Feng Jiu. Just throw some conflict and I'll be happy just fine. Actually, because there are tons of xianxia drama that focus on Heavenly Realm and Demon Tribe (and the conflict about Demon King being the downfall of all living beings). it would've been better if the focus in Eternal Love of Dream is more on their love story. In other words, They should've only show us Dong Hua and Feng Jiu story from how they met, fell in love, build a family, and the ordinary conflict in a relationship (without cliché conflict such as doomsday for the living beings).

I'm a bit confused because in Eternal Love, Ye Hua and Mo Yuan seems to be on par with Dong Hua, but here in Eternal Love of Dream, it seems Ye Hua and Mo Yuan is useless. They never there on a big battle or problems. Seems like the only reliable person in Heavenly Realm is only Dong Hua. He never received help from other immortal, except Feng Jiu.

Anyway, what I don't like about this drama is the Mortal Arc and the Aranya's Dream Arc because the story of them two was too draggy, but I can stand Aranya's Dream Arc better than the Mortal Arc because of the happy moment and lovey dovey part of Dong Hua and Feng Jiu as Dijun and Imperial Princess of Qing Qiu not as a mortal who will not remember a thing after their trial on the Mortal Realm. Also, I don't like the unnecessary story of Ji heng, especially on the last ep when her part is really not necessary. Rather than giving us the closure of how Dong Hua and Feng Jiu were saved, the longer moment of Dong Hua and Gun Gun, and their happy family together, the writer waste almost 10 minutes on Ji Heng and Xiao Yan and only gave us the last 5 minutes to give an explanation about the continuation of Dong Hua family with Feng Jiu and Gun Gun. I really hate that. They should've made it into another episode of Dong Hua reunited with his family, give him his well deserved happiness, show us more of his happiness. The ending seems a bit rushed because of it. Such a shame..

The only thing that I like from this drama is the main couple's chemistry. This kinda plot always intrigued me in a heartwarming way. The actors did their part incredibly, I can't believe that the FL is only 18 years old. I can say that she's so daring to take this role, to keep in mind because of the intimate scenes. Her kissing scene is much better than those much older actress. I smile from ear to ear whenever their lovey dovey part come on screen. It's like, seeing a real couple's cute interactions and then I feel guilty LOL. To be honest, I feel like everyone's success is a bit exaggerated. The story starts when they're 18 years old and the story end 6 years later which is 18 + 6 = 24 years old. At the age of 24, everyone already married and have a successful future together. It's not realistic because in this day and age, not everyone can achieves success and marriage at 24 years old. By everyone I mean the leads and the leads's friends. But for the Male Lead, I can understand it because he starts early. The writer is overly romanticising everything in this drama.

But, I find a lot of unnecessary scene and many plot holes such as time sequence between the scene. The last scene at the wedding, they could've just give the couple a happy wedding tho. Why would they add another conflict? Other than the main lead CP, I find every character so cringy especially the FL high school bestfriend. I can't stand her character when she was pursuing her crush. I was like, please keep your dignity intact girl! and I feel bad for the FL university bestfriend, she's so beautiful and elegant. I was hoping that she'll end up with different guy that is worthy of her. Her boyfriend-now-husband is such an evil guy whilst she is such a kindhearted girl. I don't understand why the writer insist on pairing her with him.

The 3 musketeers that I hate, the childhood senior, the dorm senior, and the dorm mate. I call them 'The Obsessive Gang'. I must confess that their action confuses me, why be so obsessive when the lead couple happy together? at first, the childhood senior was portrait as a cool, mature guy but his action next is really low. The audacity of him questioning the male lead's sincerity towards the female lead when he, himself, is the one that blocking the male lead's future? just wow-me. The dorm senior girl, she portrayed as a beautiful, smart, understanding girl but she always uses an underhanded means to bring down the female lead when it is clear that the female lead never give the guy she likes a chance. Here comes the third annoying person in the drama, the dorm mate. I understand that she feel jealous because she envy the FL, for her beauty, her richness, and her boyfriend. But what I don't understand is, what is her reasoning to slap the girl? Did she snatch her boyfriend? no, Did ZH ever mislead her? no, So why the slap on the face? and she did not redeem herself only until she saw the FL in need of money. She. Never. Apologize, and never show regret.

Hence, I said, I like this drama mainly because of the lead's chemistry together. They look like a real couple in a real relationship, although sometime I find their interactions boring. But I also like that there're not many misunderstanding and no unnecessary break up. They talk to each other, even though they still keep few things from each other but they handled it maturely.

This drama totally deserves the perfect score I've gave. I see that there're variety of reviews for this drama. Some like it, some don't. Many would find this drama slow and maybe boring, but for me, this is the kind of drama that can melt you (me personally) and it touched your heart (my heart), the cinematography helps a lot. Not many conflict, no misunderstanding that lead the MC into separation. They did broke up at some point, but you'll understand why she did it. It's not because 'I love you but we need to break up for your sake' type of thing, but it's because the FL needs it to cope with the situation that happened to her family. They have trauma of their own and they need to overcome it. To be honest, for their break up plot, I do think that it's not that necessary, but once I think deeper into the FL situation, it's acceptable.

This is a slice of life drama, the two of them together confronts their past. The romance were heartwarming and without me realising, I've fall deep into SKJ charm thru his eyes, his beautiful eyes. I can't help but to feel the pain he is feeling. Without a doubt, he successfully gained my attention. There are some cliché part such as rivalry between high school, used to be, best friend on getting the guy they like at present time. It was told that the friend likes the guy since high school and they've live in the same city ever since. But for some reason, that's only known to the friend, she never made her move until the FL comes back to the city. Suddenly, after the FL's arrival, she felt threaten and try her best to make the guy hers. She tried to snatch the guy from FL's side. But this cliché part does not affect my love for this drama because the main couple handled their problems together so as to prevent misunderstanding.

This is not a perfect drama, but this is a great drama for me. It's hard to find decent drama now, there're tons of drama but not many with good quality like this one. I must say that the after effect from this drama is heavy, you'll find yourself missing Im Eun Seob. So, brace yourself fellow drama lovers!

This drama started with a promising story but the writer decided to make a cliche conflict which destroy the future of this drama. I really disappointed with how the writer depicts the exes of both lead. Also, other downside is from the music cut. The music transition between scenes is not that smooth.

At first, i really like the female lead character because she is not a weak lead, but a strong one. Her character is a rational one, until...her ex comes in (first ex). The male lead character is a gem in K-drama land because not many male lead character is as mature as he is. Dr. Kim is a mature man with a great amount of patience for his girlfriend. Whenever the female lead starts to get anxious, the male lead is there to guide her. The male lead is always there for her, but is she? She is a selfish girlfriend and always pushes the male lead away no matter how hard the male lead tried to get close to her. The male lead, never, for once, had a doubt in their relationship, even from the first time they met. But the female lead had nothing but doubt, and that only goes away in the last 2 episode (after the exes conflict).

I get it, I understand her, at first, because she just got cheated on by her 2nd ex. But as the story goes on, I don't think that her way of trying to make it better by hurting the male lead is right, by trying to push away the male lead. I really hate the misunderstanding the female lead feels. She feels like she brings nothing but problems to the male lead which by the way, the male lead is okay with it. So, what's the problem? It's just a problem the writer wrote when he/she did not have any other brilliant choice of conflict, "just use the same old tricks, here comes the exes problem that will put your relationship on a test".

This drama had so much potential to make it to my best drama list along with It's Ok It's Love, but the conflict just take it all away. It's such a shame cause the leads chemistry is like no other. I rarely see the lead chemistry as mature as they are. That's why I put It's Ok It's Love as my first choice of best drama i've ever watched. The lead's relationship (in Dinner Mate) feels real, even if there is not much kiss or hot scene between the leads, but I can feel the warmth from their relationship. The kiss feels real, the touchy scene also feels real, except for one specific kiss scene (you'll know which when you see it).

My last thought of this drama, my regret for the writer is that it would’ve been better if the conflict is the build up of the leads romance. Because the two lead is someone who got hurt by their past (twice for the female lead), it woud've been better if the writer put more focus on the process of the lead getting to know each other. The exes story would be better if they are just one of the conflict not the main conflict. And it will be even better for the ending to show the leads marriage, not just a proposal. Actually, for me, it may be even better if the two lead got married throughout the story and the conflict are them trying to build a family together. Because, marriage is not the real ending in a relationship, and how they maintain their marriage is a great ordeal for this kind of story (like Tomorrow With You with less dramatic story).
