When you are young ...
I'm not a big fan of school dramas. For purely personal reasons, school dramas always have this thing about fighting and dreaming, and going to university. Also about friendship and building relationships. There's also that feeling of nostalgia, for something we lost or will lose.
Thoughts aside, this drama isn't exactly bad, although it's not that great, and the ending left something to be desired.
What I liked: it's light, fun to watch, Cheng Hai's love for Xiaoran, they are cute together. I also like Rui and Xiang Nan together. In fact, her love for him was something very beautiful, since childhood, it touched me a lot. There was a scene of them, the scene on the beach where I cried. The scene of Cheng Hai and Xiaoran on the beach, the confession with fireworks was very beautiful. But him drunk saying to her so many times "wo xihuan ni" touched me more. He was always there for her, helping her, and that touched me.
When Tao's grandmother died I was also very emotional, I think only those who have lost someone will understand. I will always cry in this kind of scene.
I liked the way of naming episodes.
What I didn't like: It was a little dark and had a nostalgic feel.
It took Xiaoran a long time to realize that she also liked Cheng Hai.
For me, the ending was not closed, there were loose ends; and I didn't really understand what happened to Xiang Nan and Rui in the end. I wish they had ended up together.
Overall it was ok, it wasn't the best drama, but it wasn't something I dragged in to watch. It was light to watch, just the ending that could have been better.
