The first one that makes me crave for more episodes.

This is the most Japanese I've seen a Thai drama get. Do you wanna know why I knew it wasn't Japanese, though? Because the actors know how to act!

Now let me begin asking the real question. This was an "elephant in the room" kinda situation for me, but here we go anyway: Is it really a BL if Love is a girl the whole time despite the body change?
To be honest with you, it isn't to me. Why? Because there's no moment in the story were Love (male) tries to act like a man. The girl always shone through his character completely overshadowing his masculine self. But this is just my opinion; it's fine if you see it as a BL.

This is the most expensive looking Thai "BL" drama I've seen so far; I mean, the production value really went up with this one. From episode one we were submerged in this beautiful fantasy world that felt like it came out of a Japanese shoujo manga. It was marvelous. I enjoy a show that focuses on details: the school, the uniforms, the dorms, the environment, and even the students had an attractive appeal to them.

The writers and the director really missed a big opportunity to milk the story, though. Because the story had a focus on the daily lives of the students, the writers could have added at least ten extra episodes of filler between episodes and it would have been just as great. There were parts of the story and characters that deserved to be fleshed out more, so extra episodes focusing on their perspective of the plot would've made viewers connect more with them. Despite that, the 8 episodes available were very well written. Not even once I felt like the pacing was rushed or that it was poorly edited.

Someone PLEASE give James (male Love) an award!!! I finally found my favorite actor from a Thai BL and I could talk about his acting for hours, but let me summarize it for you. For a straight guy, no actor has been able to portray "female" as good as he did and it shows. I had problems seeing the connection between Shane and Rose because even though both are great actors by themselves, they never matched in terms of personality. However, that was not the case for Love (male and female actors). James got this role down to the teeth and it was a very natural performance from him. The cute feminine mannerisms, his speech, and his facial expressions made me question his sexuality for a second because it was exactly the acting that I expected for this type of character.

Ice was also a good actor. I enjoy those characters that give you a little bit of both, the good guy and also the antagonist, and he did not disappoint. Many people have trouble liking this type of character, but I really liked his performance as Vier.

Jaylerr became one of my favorite actors and I look forward to seeing more of him in dramas. Specially BL. He's got it going on to play these roles.

Overall this was an excellent drama and worthy of a rewatch. The story is captivating and the actors bring fresh personalities to enjoy. Honestly, we need a season two!

The kind of show you should not take seriously.

This series is the definition of the word "random."

Honestly, after watching episode one I had intended to stop because I felt like I didn't connect with it; HOWEVER, I decided to watch episode two out of sheer boredom and OH MY GOODNESS HOW MUCH I ENJOYED IT! That entire washing machine montage was gold and got me completely hooked.

Putting all the randomness aside, the story was very simple and it does have some plot holes that I assume happened because of how short the season is. Even so, it was still understandable and touched a beautiful topic that's popular in today's society: people's connections with each other. It is a light-hearted comedy that shows you that even people who are complete opposites of each other can actually create a special bond... and you don't even have to realize it! The best part of this series that separates it from all the Thai BLs I've watched is the fact that you don't have to take it too seriously. This is the kind of show that you can just sit back, laugh and have a good time.

Let me give a round of applause to the actors because they DESERVE IT. It was refreshing to have a series were ALL the characters had unique personalities with unique traits that distinguished them from each other, but also that connected them as well. Not gonna lie, it is getting a little tiring to watch dramas lately due to the lack of uniqueness in their characters' personalities, but that's not the case here. All actors brought something new to the table that made you sympathize and grow fond of them. It made me happy to see how they all were totally fine by living with people that were polar opposites. It was like "nothing weird here, that's just how we are!"

There was one thing that threw me off sometimes, though. The script felt... strange, to say the least. Maybe it was a barrier in the translation, but sometimes the script got me thinking "what are you talking about?" It did feel a little all over the place and it definitely needed some extra tweaking, but luckily it wasn't a problem I saw often.

All in all, YYY was an enjoyable series that I would recommend to anyone looking for something they can just have a good laugh with. Enjoy the life of some fun weirdos coexisting in the same building!

An improvement from TOSSARA

Okay, you know what? Compared with TOSSARA, this one is *actually* passable.

This is an extremely short series and there isn't a lot of time to flesh out the characters and give you a great story, so you have to give it the benefit of the doubt.

"This is Love Story" is more of a fanservice sort of thing with a very basic storyline and predictable characters in predictable situations. It seems to be targeted to those people who prefer sweet moments over a plot. Unfortunately, I am more of a plot kinda guy, so this isn't up my alley. Still, I didn't come to hate it like I hate TOSSARA.

The acting was decent. It did feel cringey and somewhat lacking in feelings at some points, but it was more natural in terms of acting. Even for the TOSSARA couple! I know, right? Unbelievable! I do not know what was going on when they recorded their side of the story, but this was a noticeable improvement (but still not the best, just to keep it one hundred with you).

Like I said before, basic storyline, so there isn't anything memorable to talk about.

To be honest, I would not rewatch this. It is not bad, but I prefer series that captivate me with their stories rather than just sweet fanservice.

It's got a point, it's an icon, it's a legend, and it is the moment.

Before I talk about this drama, may I say something controversial yet brave? Can we be vulnerable on this gay day?
Japanese BLs have proven to be much better than Thai ones. And don't get me wrong, I love me some Thai BL, okay? There are some that have put me in a gay mood and there's no better mood to be in than the gay one. However, honestly, plot wise, Japan has left Thailand way behind. As of the writing of this review, I have only seen like 4 Japanese dramas with Boys Love thematic and... they are all so different from each other. She's showing the judges versatility! While in Thailand, most of them have the same tropes and storylines being recycled relentlessly. There's only a small handful of dramas that have actually gone out of their way to do something different.
That's it, just wanted to vent a little.

\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\

Now, let's talk about this drama, shall we?

~Story:
You know what? Never in my gay life I thought I was going to willingly watch a drama about a fujoshi, but I admit I am glad I took that bullet because this was a whole experience. I still don't like fujoshis, though... except the main one here, she's nice.
For an eight-episode drama, I am very pleased with the writing and pacing of the story. It didn't beat around the bush and focused on the relevant info that's most needed to understand what is going on. Everything was placed right in front of you, so even a person who has no idea about what is like to be gay and a fujoshi, and the struggles that both of these types of human beings face in a conservative society as Japan's could have a clear idea of the basics.
By the time I reached episode seven, I realized how fond I became of these characters to the point I was on the edge of my seat wondering what the hell was going to happen next. I like the subtlety in which they began taking ahold of my feelings without me even noticing it.
The main thing that I enjoyed about all this is that even though it was clearly fiction, it still maintained a good level of realism. In my head, this feels real even though there were some parts that were too cliche to be real.

~Cast and Characters:
Yes. To be honest with you, I probably wouldn't have chosen a different set of actors, and what I really liked about them is how they didn't feel repetitive with each other. Every head was its own world giving a very good variety of reactions and emotions. I like how clear it was that there wasn't a sense of unrealistic unity and every character was allowed to feel their own individual set of emotions instead of just jumping into the bandwagon.
I love whoever the hell was playing as Sae, the fujoshi. She started quite weak, but she became the best, strongest and most solid character in the whole series. It was an excellent character development that outshone everyone else's.
Jun was also really good. The best thing about the actor is that he kept it very quiet and "unreachable," which made those moments when he snapped and showed his weakness very strong. Seeing this character struggle in silence is probably the most relatable part for anyone in the LGBTQ+ community. That anxiety and desperation was hard to see in the good way. Really, we got an excellent set of actors here.

If there's one thing that I feel a little weird about is the ending. It was a bittersweet ending cleverly disguised as a "happy" ending but, to me, it felt like we were back at square one. You will understand what I mean when you watch the last episode, pay close attention to the dialogues.

Mama this show has everything: Great cast, great writing and pacing, great plot, gay stuff, serious themes, good dramatic moments, daddy issues, shock value, and, most importantly, for a Japanese drama, the acting was pretty damn good compared to many other things I've watched. Totally recommended by yours truly.

There's lots of room for improvement.

I would like to believe that this drama was supposed to have a few more episodes of content, but due to the Covid situation, a lot had to be cut off for the sake of not putting the actors and staff in danger. That being said, I'm going to give the drama the benefit of the doubt and talk about it for what it is.

I'm also adding my review on Saifah/Zon's special episodes here for the sake of having everything in one place.

~ The story.
It was decent, for the most part. To be honest with you, there wasn't anything that I could consider new, so I am not amazed by it, but it wasn't bad either. We need to start branching out of the usual "enemies turned to lovers" trope because it's getting way too tired, and the fact that 4 of the 6 couples were going through that route was way too much for one drama. The creativity was dragging on the floor with this one. You could also tell how it exponentially grew more and more detached from all the other characters and solely focused on Fighter and Tutor, and I would normally be mad at it if it wasn't because I really liked them as a couple.

The highlight of the series to me was Fighter's argument with his dad at the end. It combined usual elements of BL scripts with a touch of reality to it. Nothing but praise to that.

~ The editing and pacing.
Dude this was a M E S S. It wasn't even like they tried to gradually make it a mess, but you could totally see when the editors just blindly began joining scenes together. Now, I get it, it was miss Corona's fault, but man. At this point I wouldn't have minded if they took a break and waited until things were a little better in Thailand for them to start recording again. A lot of stuff seemed to be removed leaving a lot of unanswered questions and confusion.

The editing was very amateur and the camera work could have been done better. Honestly, I have seen short YouTube videos with way less budget and better production than this drama. Just saying. If you're gonna do something, do it right mama.

~ The acting.
First of all: CAN WE PLEASE STOP NORMALIZING THE THARNTYPE COUPLE?! The most unhealthy relationship we have had so far, and these people are still tryna have the audacity to romanticize it. I won't condone it!

~ Fighter/Tutor: Let's talk about a couple that actually matters now. Great chemistry, sis. I am glad that Saint got this role because his character in Love by Chance was so unrealistically bad that he deserved a more realistic character that lives up to his acting skills. Now, if you allow me to be picky, it did feel like he changed characters after they admitted their feelings. I prefer the Tutor before confessing, but the after isn't too bad.

When it comes to Zee, I enjoyed his performance from start to finish. This is the kind of heterosexual actor I'll support, with such confidence in who he is as a man to the point that his acting was pretty much flawless. Very expressive eyes and super adorable crying. He gets a ten from me.

~Saifah/Zon: They got the short end of the stick as the second main couple. I am not a big fan of Tommy's acting because it looks very staged, but everything changes once you place him besides Jimmy. Their chemistry together got progressively better throughout the episodes, and their special is what sold them to me. They were THE couple to look forward to. In all honestly, we need a season 2 so they can all get the drama they deserve.

~Natee: Yes, yes, YES! The best support character in the series. Naturally hilarious and approachable. That MOMENT scene with the other guy was so genuinely funny that it is a shame they were pretty much cut off from the rest of the season.

~Hwahwa: You guys, I feel bad for her because they wrote her as such an easy girl. It was so funny, though. Not even three minutes out of a relationship when she was already in another one.

~Fighter's dad: Honorable mention because he IS daddy.

Girl, this show has everything: comedy, tragedy, character development, gud dix, male titties, MOMENT, daddy issues (those are mine), questionable fashion, and too many beach episodes. I had a good time, so I recommend it.

CHOICES were being MADE

She's messy. Point blank period.

It's hard for me to wrap my head around what I just saw and, honestly, I am quite disappointed about the way things played out. The main season set the bar so high for itself and this special episode blew it. Real bad.

Firstly, it does seem like this episode was thrown together in an hour or so. There's no clear plot, no vision, no cohesiveness, no quality control, no proper pacing, and questionable writing. The beginning felt like the story was going somewhere else, but changed last minute. We even had new characters introduced that seemed to be part of a bigger plot, but were cut off due whatever reason. Maybe lack of budget? Or was this supposed to be the start of a second season that was cancelled last minute? I guess we'll never know.

An hour and forty minutes of content was way too much, while half of that time was completely used for unnecessary content. It kind of felt like a filler episode within a movie that made no sense whatsoever. The beginning and the end were decent enough to make a basic, go-to BL episode; however, on the other hand, the middle part -- the entire beach trip, needed to be REMOVED. I don't even know who thought that entire beach fantasy was a good idea. It just doesn't make sense.

But there were good things as well: I enjoyed the acting and chemistry of the mains. I do like their personalities too since they seem a little unique to your usual cliched BL characters. They made it look more natural and believable than other actors. This is one of those rare occasions in which the support couples/characters are just as fascinating as the main roles and I desperately wish they were given a little more screen time here. This special episode was the best opportunity to bring a good closure to the series and its characters and the writers didn't take it, unfortunately.

Sis, I love the main series, so one part of me wants to recommend this episode for that only reason. However, the episode in itself just lacks on everything. This isn't even a shadow of how good the main season was. So, if you're considering watching this, lower your expectations to the bare minimum.

YAS QWEN SKINNY LEGEND BOOTS THE HOUSE DOWN OKUR HUNTY MAMA AND I OOP SIS WORK MY PUSSY OUT BITCH!

Long story short: This thing was G O O D and you H A V E to give it a try.

First of all: WHERE THE HELL IS THE LOCATION OF THIS TOWN!? I have never seen scenery in Thailand more beautiful than this one. Sometimes I would forget about what's happening in the episode just because I was distracted by the beautiful visuals of the area. Really, I would move there if I weren't a starving man living in a third world country.

~Story:
I couldn't ask for anything more fascinating. I mean, it's a cop show, what could go wrong with it? Well, a lot, but that's not necessarily the case here. This is a very simple and obvious story, though, so you are probably going to guess how the plot will play out way before you watch the final episode. All the characters and settings are cliched references to the cop show genre to the point that it is very easy to point out who are the bad guys and their role in the story.
Still, this was a pretty decent show to watch. To be honest, it is not nearly at the level of, let's say, CSI, but it is still quite enjoyable.
The main reason why I began watching was because it was a BL but, honestly, I wish we could have gotten rid of that part. Or at least add it in a way that didn't feel "on the way." There were plenty of occasions I felt some scenes where out of place and, you guessed right, it just so happens to be the ones focusing on their romantic relationship. A good example of this, for those who already saw the series, is the laptop scene. In such serious and exciting moment in the story, them motherfuckers just had to start getting romantic right in the middle of it. I swear, it doesn't matter how fantastic those smooches were, it wasn't called for at such a moment!
What I meant to say is: I wish their relationship was a little more subtle since it feels like the romance drama and the cop drama were trying to fight each other for the spotlight.

~Cast:
Decent. There were flaws here and there a little too often, but nothing that bothered me enough to hate it. This is a drama that required very specific reactions in the right moments and many of those were missed, so I do wish we could have had better acting. But like I previously said: it was decent.

~Tan: He was quite good although I felt that the actor was *a little* restrained of his full potential. Like I was expecting a full reaction, but he only gave me half of it. He's still one of my favorites, though, because I stan a bad guy look. He was wearing black on almost all episodes, which is such a turn on for me aw yis.

~Bun: This doctor was such a man. I can't describe it any other way, he's just a man. A fucking idiot but in the adorable way. I like how they made this fully grown adult have the innocence of a child, but I just wish the actor was a little better at acting. The problem with him was the lack of emotion and ability to take it to the next level. I wasn't too impressed.

~Inspector M: M of "my goodness that cop outfit was so tight I was having impure thoughts." I didn't really get this character. It just felt like he was having multiple personality disorder because he was a different person when he changed from the cop to the civilian outfits and vice versa. I preferred the cop personality because I think it fits the actor much better. I actually don't have complaints about him -- he was the best one of the three.

Can I just add something, jush? I am so happy to finally have found a BL in which I can drool over the actors because they are either my age or similar age. I'm always embarrassed of being attracted to an actor in all the other BLs I've seen because I don't wanna look like a pedophile since most of those actor barely look like they went through puberty. Not my vibe, dude.

~Pacing, editing, and direction:
The pacing and editing were good. Again, this was one of the things were the cliched cop drama references took part of. For a good reason. If you're a fan of the cop genre you'll like how the story was put together. In my case, I liked everything until the romance began kicking in because of the reasons I stated above.
The direction is the thing that disappointed me the most. This show is not at the level I wish it could be. It's not CSI, you know? But I fervently wish it were. The vision wasn't fully realized and a lot potential was missed.

Sis, this show has literally EVERYTHING: Drama, suspense, action, roMANce, mystery, male titties, cops, backstabbing, puzzles, tight police outfits, corruption, blood, guts and chocolate cake. I mean, what else would you want? I totally recommend this drama. Definitely worthy of a rewatch and, hopefully, a season 2. Like, seriously, give me a season 2!

Meh

Pretty underwhelming for something that seemed to have quite a decent budget.

~Story:
Mama, let me tell you something: I don't know what the hell is happening inside the heads of this people to think such a dull story deserves a whole drama. It is well written and coherent (for the most part), but there's literally NOTHING here that someone could find appealing for a drama unless the drama is about the dull life of dull college students. Then this is perfect.
Usually, a drama is a straight line that raises up when there are important events happening and that goes down to its original straightness when said events are resolved -- kind of like a roller coaster; well, regardless of what event is unfolding here, that line never goes up or down. It always remains straight. There's genuinely nothing. It's like looking at a wall for fifty minutes non-stop.

~A couple of things I want to point out:
As a gay man, I found so aggravating that everyone was pretty much forcing the poor guy, Jin, to fall in love with Bbomb. Red flags coming up! You DO NOT force allegedly heterosexual men into a homosexual relationship. That's how they start hating on us. It was such an irresponsible thing to romanticize that I was automatically against this pairing. No matter what the outcome was at the end, such thing is WRONG to partake in.

Also, Bbomb's manipulation. More red flags! I said it in my Tossara review and I'll repeat it once again: "if you have to manipulate someone to fall in love with you, then that's NOT real love." And the worst part is that Bbomb had the damn audacity to get mad at Jin for giving him fake "illusions" when it was his (Bbomb) own fault in the first place for manipulating Jin into giving those illusions. Really, manipulators are some of the worst kind of people I know. Get. That. Man. Out. Of. Your. Life. Sis!

~Cast:
This drama got some great talent but, unfortunately, all of them were undermined due to the dull plot.

~Jin/Bbomb: These two reminded me so much of the "Until We Meet Again" main couple, Pharm and Dean. One is cute and smiley and the other one dead inside. However, unlike Pharm and Dean, these other two were the complete opposite in terms of chemistry. Not even once I felt love coming out of them but, instead, it was very socially awkward. It looked quite forced, which makes sense since that's pretty much how this relationship started.

~Song: This actor, Kao, is to me one of the current BEST actors in Thai BL. He's such a natural that his roles are something to look forward to every time. I mean, look at him and then look at the mains and you'll see the difference in acting skills. Genius, can't wait to see him leading a drama.

~Ball/Keam: ????????? I mean, ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! All this building up for nothing. These two had better chemistry than the mains, yet it was completely wasted.

~Aim: Honorable mention because she is SO beautiful. I couldn't stop looking at her. I do admit that her acting here was more successful than in "Oxygen." Good to see she's improved.

~Editing and pacing:
Like I said before, this drama looks like it has a decent amount of budget to the point that the camerawork, sound and editing were really good. Unfortunately that doesn't make up the fact of how boring it is. This is quite a slow drama due to events getting dragged for too long with little to no outcome so, even though the pacing is good, it is still tedious to follow.

Sis, this show has everything: Chaotic relationships, forced relationships, manipulative relationships, dull relationships, rumors, friends you can't even trust and, what is sexual orientation any longer? I don't really recommend this, but I don't hate it either. You do what you want with this info, jush.

The one.

If Thailand could understand that quality is better than quantity, we would have more dramas like this one.

For days I've been trying to come up with the good and the bad about this drama to give sort of an unbiased review, but bitch, I can't come to dislike anything that much to make it a solid point to not like it. This is a drama that was genuinely good despite of the little errors present here and there. Finally!

~Story:
Let me tell you something: those first 8 minutes of the first episode were the strongest 8 minutes a drama has given me. Shoutout to the author of the novel and writers of the series for their excellent work. You can tell this was a well received project by the production team because there is so much attention to detail from every aspect of it and it shows. This is a very tricky project to create due to the fact that there is a lot that intertwines and plenty of connections that could easily be missed due to the complexity of the plot, BUT! Not even once I felt that something didn't make sense.

This was definitely not your usual fanservice thing, there's an actual plot that expands and captivates with its tragedy and romantic moments. The blending of both lives was very well done and strategically placed to bring understanding of certain situations and why the "present" lives act the way they do for specific scenes. For example: there's a reason why Pharm is so smiley all the time, and why Dean has such a subconscious need of fulfilling promises; every action in this drama happens for a reason that connects to their "past" lives. Honestly, this is my favorite part of this entire series; I crave for this attention to detail from movies, books, dramas, games, and pretty much everything!

~Soundtrack:
Speechless. ABSOLUTELY SPEECHLESS. Finally a drama that invests on some real good music! Every single track on this damn thing gave me a sense of sadness, hope, nostalgia, love, and it was so fitting. I could talk about this for hour, but I don't wanna put you through that. Just know that this is the only soundtrack I spent real money to get because all the artists involved DESERVED the support. *chef's kiss*

~Acting:
This is probably the main thing about this drama where I can see room for improvement. And I could say that about every drama I've seen so far, to be honest. It's not like they were bad, but there were some moments here and the where I thought "Oh! This could have been acted more naturally." Now, let me go through the main actors quickly:

- Dean/Pharm: Compared with their past lives, these two were so socially awkward omg. First of all, respect to Fluke for being able to cry that much. This is how I know I could never be an actor. How do people cry voluntarily that easily? Can't relate, sis. Anyway, he's definitely my favorite of the two; he gave me an excellent range of emotions and allowed me to realize how hurt InTouch is. That scene when he tasted the soup was the highlight of his acting. Ohm was decent, and also dead inside, which is relatable.

-Korn/Intouch: First of all, who the hell calls their son "Intouch"? I mean, it's not bad, but oh my goodness it's so something I've never heard before. I love, love, love, love Earth! He's one of my favorite actors because he's excellent playing the beby. And he got a great partner in Kao; I really couldn't have asked for a better couple. Their chemistry was excellent and natural. Yes, they ARE the basic BL couple for this drama, but they did it so well that it doesn't bother me in the slightest.

-Team/Win: Okay, but Prem looks exactly like one of the guys from BTS, but cuter. What's her name? I don't know, I have taste. He alongside Boun make the most perfect support characters being always there for their friends for support and good vibes.

-Manow: Love her! She always plays the roles of the quirky best friend and it fits her so well. It's like she's just playing herself. She's been here since Love Sick and has become an actress to look forward to.

-Del: No. I didn't like her in Love Sick, I didn't like her in Love by Chance, and I certainly do not like her in here either. Her performance is always so fake and predictable for an amateur. She's been acting the same way on every drama I've seen her and I'm over her.

-Sin: First of all, WHAT THE FUCK is wrong with this weave? Mama she's thirsty, she's busted, she's homophobic. This ratchet ass weave is the definition of fighting with the scissors. TAKE. It. OFF.

-Alex: Now, he isn't the main antagonist, but I expected more from this character. He was so irrelevant in what he was doing that he may as well not be here. If you gon be the villain go all out, sis.

~Direction/Edition:
Truly the highlight of the drama for me. I am a big fan of this director because he seems to be the only one who knows what he's doing. You can tell he has a clear vision and can successfully translate it from his head to reality. From a cinematographic perspective, we got really good shots throughout the series. The actors' placements, the lighting, transitions, and music were cleverly thought out and used in the most successful way. Please, pay close attention to the environment because it truly brings everything together beautifully.

Mama this show has everything: Great writing, great direction, love, hate, past, present, future, food I can't eat, gay tears, busted ass weave, and plot twists. I would recommend it a million times to everyone.

If I hear that damn piano music again I'll... I don't know... flip a table or something.

After having to experience the mess TharnType was, this turned out to be a much needed refresher.

This series is a reminder that you don't need a lot of money or a big production team to make something good, because what matters the most is the writing and a good set of actors. That's how this series made me feel, and I must say that I'm pleasantly surprised. I mean, the thing was better than many of the BL dramas I've seen up to this point (not that I've seen many, but you get my point).

The pacing and writing of the story felt natural and cohesive. There aren't any huge time gaps that leave you confused or thinking that they cut story out for the sake of timing. Something that bothered me, though, was the soundtrack. These companies need to learn to spend some extra coins on some good musical pieces, but the constant repeating of the same damn piano melody got me f*cked up. It was cute at first, but around episode 3 it got REALLY ANNOYING. Let's play a game: drink a whole bottle of Vodka every time a drama makes a "let's go to the beach!" or a "let's plant trees!" episode.

I believe this is the first drama were I actually find all the characters likeable, even the ones I don't really care about... and even all the couples were interesting. You know, it isn't uncommon to have more than one couple in the story; however, most of the time a big majority of them turn out to be absolutely irrelevant and a waste of time. This one, however, forms part of the very few dramas were I was looking forward to ALL the couples, and we have to thank the writers for that. There were four couples in total and each one of them had enough screen time to get to know and connect with them. Can't say that from A LOT of dramas out there!

BohnDuen --> I find hilarious how the main couple was completely overshadowed by the support couples, for good reasons! But I have to admit that I liked them despite of what the popular opinions say about them. Not everything has to be rainbows and disney-style romance and what really shone here was the comedic side of their relationship. Please give a well-deserved round of applause to Poy because he totally carried this relationship with his fun and approachable personality. Cooper has a predator smirk, by the way... don't know why I'm mentioning this, but whatever.

RamKing --> Well, hello there. What turned out really cool about them is that they got a main couple writing for a support couple. I really liked how well written Ram's character development was; it was unexpected, but excellent. Not a big fan of his voice, though, I expected something that sounded a lot deeper than that LOL. King reminds me of me by being this icebreaker kind of human. I like how he doesn't give up even though he got the cold shoulder plenty of times.

BossMek --> Honestly, I am this close to grab my gay ass and take a trip to Tri Creation's HQ and riot for them to bring Ryan back. Despite of whatever the hell he did to get himself fired, I must say that he was undeniably my favorite actor in this drama. I adored seeing how Mek's feelings were written all over his face on screen. He didn't even need to speak for me to know EXACTLY how he was feeling and THAT MAKES HIM A GREAT ACTOR, SIS! Inntouch (this f*cking name, y'all, I can't) was trying a little too hard to the point that his acting came a little forced, but I feel like it progressively got better. It makes me really curious what's going to happen to Boss next season.

TharaFrong --> Am I the only who doesn't wanna see them together? Don't get me wrong, I liked both actors and both characters, but they just don't match, sis. Shane 's acting felt a little awkward, so maybe is the lack of confidence by portraying a gay character? I don't know, but I am definitely curious about them next season.

Now talking about confidence. Poy and his fake cheek kiss got me pissed off. I mean, it's just a kiss on the cheek, man, it isn't like you gon turn gay just by a miserable kiss on the cheek. These straight actors need to loosen up a little bit. Look at Perth, he went all out and it was one of the best kisses I have seen in a BL drama so far.

All in all, this was a very good drama. If you're looking for your first BL series and want something lighthearted and fun, please watch this one with no hesitation! I'm sure you're gonna like it.

It did not try hard... and that is okay.

I feel like your liking of this drama is going to depend on what other dramas you have previously seen.

TC was a very simple drama with nothing too crazy to find unique or memorable. However, because I have seen other dramas that have failed due to intricate stories with confusing writing and plenty of plot holes, the simplicity of this one was appreciated.

~ Story:
Simple and clear. Anyone could write a story like this, but that doesn't make it bad. I found myself enjoying it a lot more thanks to that specific fact. The writing was decent, the pacing was decent, there was not too much going on focusing mostly on the most relevant and necessary parts of the story for a clear understanding of the events. Honestly, you're not going to find a drama that's clearer to understand than this one.

~Cast:
Decent. I feel like all these actor learned in the same acting school because I don't know how many times I've seen the exact same reactions.

Tonhon/Chonlatee: I liked them. They both had good chemistry and most of their acting came out somewhat natural. I think Khao did better than Pod, but it was them together what made their best moments.

Ai/Ni: Good support couple. They came directly from 2gether, so their chemistry was the best of the entire drama. What I like the most about this series is that these support couples had enough screen time but no separate plot. Their story was just part of the same main plot, which made it more coherent with everything else. Toptap is the love of my life and seeing him on screen fills me with joy. He needs a lead role, y'all.

Female characters were actually really good too. I like that their place within the story was solid and didn't shake even at the end. They remained strong throughout the whole thing.

~Final episode:
Probably the worst thing about this drama. It was so terribly cliche that I had to stop watching for a while because I couldn't take the cringe of it all. Tonhon's father is such a terrible actor that almost gave me nausea.

All in all, this is a decent drama. If you're looking for a very simple, low budget, and cute story with equal levels of fanservice and plot, then this is totally for you.

Look at all this CHEESE!

This isn't a bad drama, but this isn't great either. The fact that I'm thinking of ways to improve every story tells me a lot about it.

~Story: (or "stories," should I say?)
This is a decent starting point for newcomers to the genre. All the stories are filled to the brim with elements that make up a Thai BL, and also a level of simplicity that does not require you to focus on it too much. This is the kind of drama you can lay down at any moment and enjoy for the sweet moments and shenanigans.
But that's where my problem begins because there was just so much cheese in this series I was over some of the stories too quickly. Once the characters began flirting it was an explosion of cheese. HUGE AMOUNTS OF CHEESE. SO MUCH CHEESE YOU MAY AS WELL BECOME LACTOSE INTOLERANT. SO, SO, SO, SO MUCH CHEESE.
Y Destiny is, unfortunately, one of those series that tried way too hard when it didn't need to. Most of the stories would have turned out so much more enjoyable without ALL THAT ChEeSe.

~Cast:
There are ups and downs to this cast. The biggest problem relates to chemistry, though. Let me talk about each couple a little:

-Tue/Ake: Mmmm the most irrelevant couple, I think. Their performance left me with nothing to remember. Actually, they just faded to the back with one of them being completely removed of the rest of the series.

-Sun/Nuea: The chemistry with them was much more obvious because we actually had a lot of build up for this couple. Now, the acting here was a little lacking. Nuea's actor was pretty monotone to the point there really isn't a lot of personality. I'm afraid to find out he's actually like this in real life because he just looks like the kind of actor who's just a pretty face and cero talent. I hope I'm wrong, though.
I don't wanna insult Nuea's actor, but he kinda looks like one of those guys on the internet who are trying so hard to be a perfect replica of SK idols to the point is very cringey to look at him. I'm sorry to everyone who may feel triggered by this, but that's genuinely what I get from him just by watching this series.

-Mon/Team; Probably the better one from the whole cast. These two were kind of the only ones who offered the whole package. Mon's actor comes from the drama "YYY" so the comedy was very easy for him; luckily, Team's actor did not stay behind and also brought great moments. Honestly, these two should get their own drama because their chemistry and equally good acting puts them on a different level.

-Thurs/Pao: Nope, nope, nope.

-Puth/Kaeng: Theirs was the best written story out of the bunch and, if you couldn't stand the previous ones, just jump to this one because it's really a good one. For how short it was, it had the right amount of everything. The actors' chemistry was pretty on point and delivered very good moments.

-Sat/Choke: There's a great joke with these character's names somewhere. This was a good story that deserved to be developed further. Honestly, just give it its own drama. If you liked the movie "13 Going on 30," then this story is gonna give you a huge punch of nostalgia. Honestly, this reason is probably why I liked it so much. Decent actor, but needed more chemistry. On a side note: these actors reminded me so much of the mains form "Make It Right."

-Masuk/Jia/Tir: Gosh, this one was a journey I did not want to take. There was a big question on top of my head at the end of their story. Not because I din't understand it, but because it was so... what the fuck? Red flags mama, ghost fucking or some shit like that. What would Freud think about this? The three actors are excellent, I think. The most matured talent out of the cast. But, what the fuck?????????

~Writing, Direction, Production:
Again, there are A LOT of things I would try to change for this drama to be much better than what we got. All in good intentions because there IS potential here, but I felt like it lacked some more thought put into the different plots. This feels like scrapped drama ideas that were recycled into a full drama. Despite the fact this project had some decent budget, the finished product felt cheap and in need of some necessary changes.

Sis, this show has everything: Enemies turned to lovers, sexual tension, Euphoria wannabe, ghost fucking(?), shit that would really make Freud's heart hurt, miracles, trips to the future, red flags, and ALL THAT MOTHERFUCKING CHEESE MAWMA!
I... sort of recommend it. Some stories were definitely worth a watch but others leave a lot to wish for.

Let's talk gay shit

I feel like your enjoyment of this drama will depend on how many BLs you have seen previously because, the thing is, this is a GREAT drama for starters, but a little too much of the same for a veteran BL fan. Luckily for me, I had seen a couple of terrible dramas the past few weeks, so this one was a refreshing series to watch.

~Story:
The classic tale. All the elements that make up a Thai BL are here, so this was a safe choice. There really isn't anything memorable about it since it's a story that pretty much introduces people to the world of BL, so don't come expecting groundbreaking shit cuz this isn't the one to do such thing.

~Cast:
Pretty solid. I do not think they were bad, but a little staged instead. The actors needed to let the awkwardness go and become more confident so their performance can feel more natural. Let me talk about a couple of them:

-Pai: He was... okay, I guess. A little stiff, but did perform decently enough to not make me walk away. He needs to work on his chemistry because that's the biggest issue with his acting.

-Itt: This man was stiff as a board. I feel like he understood the assignment but didn't know how to apply it. His chemistry was also pretty nonexistent to the point it didn't feel like he was into Pai in the slightest.

~Pacing, Editing, and Production:
This was a very well made drama. You can tell the budget was decent and the production made good use of it. The pacing was pretty good as well, except the fact that I would have preferred if the mains had gotten together a little earlier in the story. There just wasn't enough time to bask in their relationship because we weren't given any to begin with.

Sis, this show has everything: Enemies turned to lovers, miscommunication, gay shit, bisexual shit, straight shit, ugly ass earrings, why did you buy that shit? Petty beauty contests, and so much more. I personally think this was a good drama and excellent for beginners in the BL genre. If you're a veteran, though, you may feel a little bored by it.

Let me wallow in my disappointment.

What a way of ruining a story, I tell you. It's so obvious the writers were trying so unbelievably hard to milk a story that didn't need to be milked because it was good enough the way it was.

~Story:
A mess. I don't even know where to start because there is just so much going on and so much cramped together in such awkward ways that you can't even call this a cohesive story. We had like six couples and all of them were irrelevant. Yes, I'm including the main couple as well. All their stories felt like scrapped drama plots that were meshed together to form a messy story.
This would have been so much better if they got rid of most couples and turned Bank and Golf's side into a movie. Maybe add Tar and Nuefar's story to give a little spice to it. Everything would have been so much simpler and easier to follow if they had edited shit out.

~Cast:
I don't even know. It's kind of decent enough to not make you cringe, but there was a big lack of chemistry between everybody that ended up looking poorly on every episode. I'll talk a little about most couples:

-Bank/Golf: Irrelevant. They were so dry and awkward it was hard to watch. I was surprised at how bad Bank's actor performed here since he did a great job in "Until We Meet Again." Golf's actor has not changed much and it shows. You can tell he's heterosexual because his acting came out too forced and restrained.

-Tar/Nuefar: The best of the bunch. It was still dry as hell, but the chemistry decent enough to make me believe them... a little. Tar's actor NEEDS to work on expressing emotions because he was straight up flat through the whole thing.

-Meka/Hungray: Irrelevant. One looks like a crackhead and the other looks like he's on his way to become one. Again, they were trying so hard to act gay it was kind of sad to see. Let's NOT mention the sexual assault.

-Nut/Kung: I kinda like them. Not the best actors out there, but good enough to make me pay attention. This is one of those couples you wish had their own drama because their plot actually has potential for a little short series.

-I honestly don't even remember the names of the other couples so I won't mention those.

~Editing, pacing, and direction:
More like terrible, terrible, and terrible. I don't even know what the vision was. Like I said, this whole drama looks like a bunch of different scrapped plots randomly put together. And, PLEASE, don't make me mention the unnecessary and slow paced music interludes. This series is what unprofessionalism looks like.

I don't recommend this to anyone. The story is very unnecessary and does not add anything to the original. You should watch the movie and stop there because this drama isn't a must.

A Classic

When watching, I felt a strange sense of familiarity about this movie, and it wasn't until I reached the couch scene when it hit me: I had seen this movie years ago, but blocked it out of my brain due to the ending. Back in the day, I was a traumatized little gay guy in college and, during that time, I watched so many Asian BL movies that were so tragic I couldn't help but to force myself to forget them all. Nowadays, I noticed that I actually liked this movie the way it is; a beautiful yet tragic story.

First of all, WAY better than the drama series. BY A LOT.

~Story:
This has to be one of the works that established the BL genre in Thailand because it has EVERYTHING that makes up a BL today. This movie is what you would call a "classic." When you look at it from that perspective, you realize the plot is quite simple, but what really makes it good is how complete it feels. All the important things have been laid out on the table for you, leaving nothing behind. This is one of the things a lot of dramas today are missing and it is a shame. Everybody is trying so hard to come up with a super complicated plot that doesn't amount to anything at the end, when instead, you should just get to the point without beating around the bush so much.

~Cast:
I don't have a lot of complaints. The older movies always seem to have a questionable acting, but this one was a little more decent and enjoyable. Let me talk about some of them, though:

-Golf: He was pretty okay, I think. He was, for the most part, believable, but I did notice his acting was a little restrained whenever he was yelling in anger. That part felt quite fake, but everything else was passable.

-Bank: It's so funny to me how the actor made no difference between his roles as Bank and Pharm from "Until We Meet Again." You can tell he has this specific way of acting, which is not bad, but I want to see him expand a little more from the usual.

Now, I do wish the script had more dialogue between characters. Watching the movie felt as if the director was letting the scene speak for itself, but I needed some more dialogue to fill some gaps.

~Pacing, Editing, and Direction:
Like I said earlier: this is a classic. The vision was there and the director and screenwriters were able to tell a visual story that was cohesive and nicely flowed. All the classic element of BL are here for you to enjoy.

Sis, this show has everything: Love, hate, highschoolers, school drama, conservative families, ass grabbing, truths, lies, and so much more for your enjoyment. I totally recommend this over the drama because that one was absolute garbage of a production.
