I don't recall the Japanese version of this show as it's been a while since its release, but if I'm not bored basically rewatching the same exact storyline, I think there's something being done right here!If you're weary about whether this story will be completely changed or not given justice, don't be. Tay and New are great actors with great chemistry and I'm sure the show will not be a let down.
The episode was very entertaining for the most part, but I felt as though it lacked something. And that something was the factor to pull me to watch the next episode. I also don’t get how the friend group are friends, they have no chemistry.
A very solid first episode with great cinematography and amazing acting as expected by Chimon and Perth. I am not usually a fan of enemies to lovers but this does not drag on and show unnecessary scenes. Very excited about next week!
While I am appreciative and excited to see more sapphic media, this was not the greatest start. It is supposed to lighthearted and funny, but there were scenes that felt out of place. I was also confused and a little bored at times. It reminded me of how I felt when I watched Enchante (this is a completely different genre and story, but I'm sure most can agree that Enchante was a snooze fest). Not the greatest first episode, but not the worst either. I want to note the comparisons that people are making between 23.5 and My School President. Though they are both cute silly high school love stories, MSP had the musical element with the characters singing a new song every episode. Such addition to the show made the dramatic and over the top acting more bearable and understandable, as it felt theatrical. (though there is also a double standard of course; a large portion of BL fans are fetishizers of gay men). 23.5 does not have that, and so the comedy may feel like too much (especially when gmmtv has been moving away from that recently). I think it's bearable at times, but I can understand why people are not fond of it. Once again, of course we should appreciate, but critiques will give us more sapphic shows of greater quality (and not any terrible ones like GAP). Overall, I loved the cute little interactions between the leads and I am excited to learn more about Aylin and her alien agenda. I will keep tuning in as I have been waiting for it since it was announced.
The constant lack of communication and repetitive scenes made it difficult to avoid the skip button. I think it's cute and a great way to pass time, but I find myself bored with every episode that comes out.
