The only thing I dislike with this movie is the 3 minutes long song in the middle. It is dull, annoying and does not have anything to do with the story. Otherwise the soundtrack is as sweet as the story itself.
I highly recommend you watching this and I would, at the same time, like to mention that the director of "Boy meets boy" has made a 30 minutes long movie in the same spirit, "Just friends?". A movie just as delightful as this one.

I began watching this movie because of Okada Masaki, an actor whom caught my attention by being brilliant in most of his roles (He has a minor role in this movie but still managed to get an acting nominee for best supporting role). What made me keep watching was the thrilling story, something I did not expect (I didn't even read the synopsis before I began watching), the dark feeling and the overall fantastic actors. One would not think that 37 middle school students can create such an atmosphere. The woman who played the main character, Takako Matsu, was amazing in her role. But, let me quote "let's not forget the amazing ensemble cast of young Japanese actors who ultimately steal the show from Matsu's cold as ice teacher with their riveting performances as existential youth gone wrong".
This masterpiece was completed by their use of Radiohead's Last Flowers.
All I can say is: "Watch and be amazed" because this will mess with you.

I don't know what else to say.
Basicly the writing was bad, and some of the cast wasn't great either. Hence, a messy story, overall mediocre acting, annoying music and just overall boring. And then you have he evil monster (mother) who carries the entire plot, not the six good looking guys, the guy or the girl. Seriously, the mother is a HUGE issue.
And when it takes me 15 minutes to watch an episode of this, it also means that it's rather boring.
Just don't watch this. Don't.

I remember seeing Ikuta Toma in Hana Kimi, and I thought him rather good. But, what can I say. He's a Johnny Boy. It might have been the most shallow and boring acting under my entire drama obsession. The only reason why I'm giving the acting a 3, is because the supporting actors did such a good job, trying to hold it together.
The plot was rather interesting, but at the same time boring. The same thing happened over and over again. And the things I wanted to see more of were barely there. Everything was shallow and unexplored.
The music left no impression on me, whatsoever. I can't remember it at all. That usually means that it was mediocre and boring.
I would not rewatch this even if I got paid. I was really disappointed with it. If you are hesitating about viewing it, don't! You will receive absolutely nothing from it and you will leave with a taste of beige in your mouth. Grey-beige.
