**Trigger Warning **
Okay, so my review will basically be a rewrite of the description, because... WOW.Cheng Feng is a bookshop owner who is forced to give up on her dream to become a dancer following trauma incited by her ex. She becomes withdrawn and cold. One day a young college guy, Jiang Dian finds his way into her home sees her dancing and falls in love at first sight. He pursues her hardily. It is soon discovered that he has a mental disorder and he becomes abusive. This continues for 22 episode, there are 24 in total.
I have never been physically abused in a relationship and I never understood why people stay. This show actually took me through that journey, because along with the FL, i also thought he would change. I now see how that can easily happen. I got sucked in by him, I should've known he was bad news just by the way he pursued her, but I still rooted for him. I am almost ashamed to say I enjoyed the show, but I kind of did, shockingly!! Maybe because they gave me more passion than any show I've seen. I just hope someone who needed to read this review before the show, got to see this. I couldn't give stars on STORY bc I still don't know how I feel about it overall. [Actually, they're making me rate it, so for now, ignore my rating I'm going with how I feel 15mins after finishing the drama]

Back and forth!!
They did not truly show me how tf they ended up as a married couple. A lot of things were glossed over. At one point the FL tells the ML that she met his mother once... and then in the next episode or so they do a flashback where he tells her parents (1st engagement) that she has met his Mom and she loved her. Not a big deal just wanted to talk about it because it bugged me.The story was kind of engaging but you don't understand the ML until the end I guess. There were MANY times I was like "Girl, why him??" Still no answer besides "love" I guess... I wanted to root for the 2nd ML but this show already told me who the main character was and I just don't get it. He was also a little annoying but better but I really could not avoid rallying for the OTP.
3 engagements???!!! Dang.
The real reason I'm here is because WTF!!!!!!????????!!!!!!!! They jumped from her dad dying, to COVID then to surgery for their "kid" then the Dad dying AS SOON AS HE ARRIVED HOME FROM THE HOSPITAL (?) to them finishing a successful surgery, and then when the kid is healed it's been a month?? and then they have the funeral... THEN!!!!! AFRICA??!!! again... *rolls eyes* and what happens in Africa is annoyingly ridiculous. I just... am really debating whether the last two eps are worth watching.
*still don't care about the brother and the bestie
*could totally care less about the lawyer or doctor couple
*OTP couple kisses were ruined bc the ML has smoker lips and all I could think about was cigarettes.
I think this is the first drama we saw this FL in and she is really good and I can't wait to check out more of her work. Hopefully she has a better written ML in that one. He just suddenly changed?? I don't understand..
This was just a ramble bc I no longer have Twitter, lol.

If you're watching for Romance...
this is NOT the one for you. I generally start dramas for romance but I also don't really read synopsis or watch trailers. I came into this for romance but gained so much more. The leads have ABSOLUTELY ZERO chemistry but the story pulls you in. I will also say, I am 37 and this show is great for someone around my age and older. I think we would appreciate it more. I also heard this mentioned in a podcast "Talk K-Dramas with Bruce and Alice" and since I also had this thought, I am really glad they brought it up! I don't really have much to say just wanted to point out the chemistry and the fact that this can be appreciated by an older audience, though I am sure there are younger people who could love this as well.
It would be a perfect 10 if the chemistry or connection was there or if they didn't have the romance at all. But because they tried to add in romance as part of the story, it did not work for me. 7.5 overall.

..and I don't even like H.S. dramas
Short and sweet review. Great characters without a ton of overdramatic antagonistic plot points. You get the power of friendship, love and communication. The LEADS are both so charming & charismatic I don't know how you can not keep going after episode 1. I don't really like HS dramas bc I loooooove Romance. But this drama, gave us that in how they were when they're together, it was enough for me just seeing them have deep conversations or smile at each other. This is def a fave of 2021 for me!Esta resenha foi útil para você?
Leads were ACES!
It was hard to keep up with the story because the subtitles aren't that great. With that being said, the story isn't all that good...but THE LEADS ARE! My GOD, I was hypnotized by them (after the first episode). They are the reason I watched every episode the chemistry was there along with trust and their acting had very similar charm. Also, ⚠️ WARNING ⚠️ their kisses get cut off .5secs into lips touching. I don't understand why, I don't like it, I needed more...so much more. Lastly, the ending? What the fuck was that???? I would not recommend it to anyone but I would rewatch certain scenes in this show a thousand times over.Esta resenha foi útil para você?
There was rage in me every damn time this one character would hit the other one.. if you haven't seen it and are reading this review, I hope you watch it and get as annoyed and pissed of as me. I want to say more but no spoilers here!!
