I began watching asian dramas around 2013, when i first came across the Kdrama Phantom starring So Ji Sub Lee Yeon Hee, Choi Daniel and Uhm Ki Joon. Since then I have probably finished close to 50 Korean dramas, before I started watching chinese dramas.

My first complete chinese drama was Love O2O. By first compelte drama I mean it was the first one that I had watched which had proper subtitles for all the episodes and since that drama it wasn't hard to find chinese dramas with subs. But I had watched a drama or two before that. The very first one was Destined to love you Starring Joe Chen, Jia Nai Ling, Vengo Gao, Leon Zhang, Bosco Wong, Zheng Shuang and several more. I think this was probably one of the initial dramas for several of these male actors, as from then on, any time i noticed one of them in a drama, i would pick it up to watch. And that was how i first happened upon Love O2O (because I recognized Zheng Shuang). But i fell in love with the drama more for Yang Yang than her. 

Then on, as and when i recognized an actor from one of these few dramas I has started with, I would pick it up and finish it. Thats how i came across several actors such as Mao Xiao Tong, Sandra Ma, Ma Tian Yu,  and many more. 

Now its safe to say I have probably watched over 50 chinese dramas as well (ok maybe not just cause sometime the subtitles are not great and so I give up watching some dramas). But by now i have picked up enough mandarin to understand generic conversations  (mostly in modern dramas. Historic dramas still get me.)

But i have definitely watched almost 50 or so of the short dramas that have been cropping up recently.  Although Im not a huge fan of the more low quality ones with the repetitive abusive ML and submissive FL, im low on good dramas to watch this year since Story of kunning palace was postponed. So im just filling up my drama time with these short dramas. 

But there are some really good short dramas and drama actors that i think are worth taking note of. Some of them have already come into some mainstream shows, whether in a decent support role or a guest role. But i hope to see these actors in more mainstream work someday. 

As for the ones im talking about:

Li Fei, Li Lu Lu, Lin Ze Hui, Yang Yi Mo, Wang Zu Yi, Qi Xia Xia, Huang Jing Zhou, Jin Chen, Huo Cheng Yue. Shen Hao Nan, Zhang Ji Jun, Wang Ge Ge, Ma Qiu Yuan, He Jian Qi  and a few more. But these are the main ones I found to be quite good. 

And that is pretty much all about me (sort of).
