The Moment : Since is the continuation of The Moment I Need You, and it seems nice. A nice little look into the lives of the leads since the first series, these five episodes seem to be just that, but that’s all. Just a tiny window into their lives. Was it really necessary, no, but is it still enjoyable? The question seems to be just that. The quality, top notch. The series itself? A pleasant suprise, but it is it anything more and if it is,is it worth a watch? The answer seems to be yes.

THE STORY:
The story follows Mok and Bay on vacation, but Bay’s boss and the boss’ best friend are also vacationing at the same resort. That’s pretty much the story. What was the point of the story, I have no clue. It’s filled with these cute moments between the leads, but I still don’t know what this series is about. Is it leading somewhere? I honestly don’t think so. And yet I’m hooked. There’s just something about this series that I can’t really explain, but it got me to watch all of it and I think that’s what matters.

THE ACTING:
The acting is good. The chemistry is there, but not in a way that it slaps you across the face, it’s more of a gentle caress. I will say that while some scenes do feel stiff and akward, the acting has remained consistent with the first season.

THE PRODUCTION:
This is one of the aspects greatly improved upon. The first series was dark to reflect the mindset of Mok, but this one is light and fluffy, showing just how much Mok’s state has improved. A few details like these are highly appreciated and add an extra dimension to an already good story. The problem here is with the number of episodes. How they will manage to weave an entire story into five episodes of fifteen minutes each is my concern. Hopefully they pull through and give us an actual story.

THE OST:
It’s light and sweet and makes you feel the love. What more can I say?

THE NEGATIVE:
Nothing quite so negative about this series. It’s a beautiful love story and maybe we need that kind of giddy optimism of sunshine and rainbows in our lives.

THE ENDING:
So guess what! Mok was paying Kim from 2moons ( I know his name is Copter, but calling him Kim is just fun! ) to take pictures of Mok and Bay to create a pendrive of moments. That mystery is solved. It was a happy ending overall and after the crapfest that was the Shipper’s ending, I really needed this.

When we watch television some us wish to escape reality, some want real stories, but what everyone really wants is a good way to spend their free time. I’m still on the fence about this series. It’s good, but not in a “ Oh my God, you need to watch this right now.” way, but rather in a “ If you have free time it’s a good watch” kind. While there may be no rhyme or reason to why this series was produced, I will say that this is not a waste of time. Give it a try when you have time . Thank You!

The second instalment of the Girl Next Room series is a sure hit. It’s funny, heartbreaking and heartfelt. This instalment is about Mimi, a girl who has several phobias and a radio DJ who begin talking at three in the morning due to Mimi’s fear of ghosts. They begin talking every night and slowly begin falling love, but what Mimi doesn’t know is DJ Titan is actually Than, her classmate with whom she has a mutual hate.

THE STORY:
The story is very well written. The parts about Than, Peemai and Dausou were extremely heartfelt. Mimi begins to talk to Titan, and begins to fall in love with him, but when she discovers that Than is Titan, she is shocked. When asked who she likes, Than or Titan, she is unable to choose. Only after hearing Than’s past does she realise she loves Than, the one behind the mic, despite his persona.

THE ACTING:
The actors were amazing. Every single one of them. You rarely find series’ with such actors so it is a must watch. Special shoutout to Gun , because he seems to be in every GMM production and always manages to play his character perfectly, however different they may be.

THE PRODUCTION:
Production was perfection! All the storylines were handled very well, especially the Bi/Pansexual storyline of Mimi’s best friend. That is the representation we deserve!

THE OST:
I didn’t pay much attention to the OST, as it was quite forgettable.

THE NEGATIVE:
The only negative was seeing how Mimi treated Than, saying that she loved DJ Titan and not Than, despite them being the same person. At times Mimi got too annoying for me, but despite this a very enjoyable story.

THE ENDING:
Quite a satisfying ending. Despite the fact that Mimi and Than got together, the more satisfying story was Than and Peemai becoming friends again. No hate, but it was obvious that Mimi and Than would get together from the beginning, but seeing Than and Peemai put together their differences after the trauma they experienced really broke me.

I hope this review was helpful to those contemplating on this series. It certainly is a must watch and will not disappoint you. Thank You!

What-

If a drama was a question mark, this would be it.

I still don't quite comprehend what I just saw, a bunch of trainees who signed up to be actors, but are being trained to be idols instead, a lot of interpersonal drama, around five couples, a sabotage plot.. I haven't even covered half the things in the series.

Every storyline was started up, had minimal movement and didn't conclude. So many characters disappear for episodes on end and pop back up like nothing ever happened, but even then it was completely filled because there are 20+ characters who all have around the same screentime.

There was no investment in anything as far as I was concerned, from my side as well as theirs. The only couple I actually cared about didn't have much going on, and like all the other characters, had nothing going on as individuals. There was no distinction between who they wanted us to like and who they didn't, because not one of them had the depth to give us something to care about. It's all a blur in my mind, plots come and go, characters come and go and no one seems to bother.

Finally, let's talk about that finale-
Wow. I have never seen a worse one. I've seen shows worse than this, but even there, the finale was something that served as a tie up. This did nothing of the sort. Not one single arc was concluded. Not a single one.
They also chose the last episode to try and talk about something important and serious, and didn't. It was concluded in a horrible manner, might I add.
Everything was left up in the air, and I was left with my hands up in the air in frustration.

So save yourself the torment, this isn't it.

Nothing Campus

Before anything else, I'll just say I don't want anyone who doesn't tell me that my eyes sparkle like a bus stand. I just won't have it.

Aside from that, there isn't much to say.

I've come to expect a certain quality from Strongberry, and even if it wasn't Strongberry, it all just felt.. very bland? Nothing really happened, they met, they fell in love with nothing else happening. Not saying that that's a bad thing, but here it was done in a very amateurish way that it felt bad. Theoretically, they could have done this story with just the leads, and they almost did because there are only four other characters and all of them had no feasible part to play. A second lead who stood no chance, a professor, a boss and a senior and that's as descriptive as one can get. Every aspect felt low in quality and I'm just not very impressed.

The only real thing to say anything about is the cute moments between the leads that were few amidst unnecessary drama and misunderstandings. It just all felt.. meh.

Of actions and consequences

Honestly speaking, I didn't catch a lot of the symbolism and easter eggs they probably hit us with because I wasn't in the right mood to be paying attention to all the details when I started. What did catch my attention (and made me inevitably pay more attention to the rest of the series) was the balance between actions and the subsequent aftermath. Butterfly effect, ripple effect, every action has an equal and opposite reaction, whatever you want to call it.

I watched a lead make bad and impulsive decisions whose after effects he only feels a while later, being guided by a jaded and patient lead with a dark past that led him down the path he was currently on. I watched them navigate situations messily, learning lessons along the way, and growing (even though it took a while for one of our leads to do it, while all our other lead needed was closure).

The show is shot in a very art house manner, theatric, with twelve acts, scene lighting, long conversations and an air of sombre. It's slow and dramatic, but stick with it and you get to witness a story of love and loss, growth, acceptance, forgiveness, a story written on the shores of sadness. All of this leads to one of the best finales I've watched, truly. Stories like this usually end on an open note, but the point of the series was closure, and we do get it.

Sombre, sorrowful and full of meaning that I may not have quite caught onto, but it did make an impact.

We Are Family

What. A. SHOW. They have single-handedly proved me wrong about sequels. Every one I watch is usually not on par with it's predecessor, but Ossan's Love Returns? Served and ate!

I love how many genres they mixed in together, without it ever seemingly like too much. They covered every possible theme they could, from loss, to acceptance, spanning every kind of relationship and bond, narrating stories of confusion, happiness, satisfaction, anger and so much more. Each episode is chock full of thought and tear provoking quotes and at the end of the nine episodes, you come out feeling like a part of the family.

The characters are perfect, the comedy is just right, and each and every storyline they cover is so wonderfully executed. I have nothing but praise to lay on this show. Through the frustrations, I found the resolution, just like they did. I cried with them, I laughed with them. And so will you, hopefully.

This is simply a class above.

THE ENDING!!

This was a solid two episodes, I'll give it that. The setting in a campsite, the history between the leads slowly unraveling itself, the very obvious way they had feelings for each other, and the horror vibes.

The leads Talay and Camp meet at a "haunted" campsite as blind dates who realise that they were senior and junior in school, who later had a falling out. Since both of them are travelling alone, they decide to camp out with each other since it's just a couple of days. They quickly get to reminiscing about their past, all while being seemingly haunted by someone they know.

There were some aspects I didn't quite like, some things that could have been done better. The ending was something I love and despise, that's all say, because whether the shock factor presents itself or not, that ending was something.

Over a bowl of hot soup, let's warm our souls and heal our hearts

Watching this miniseries was like getting a hug. Stories about people healing and finding new purpose in life over good food always holds a special spot for me, and this was no different.

Meen and Jeng go through this journey after Meen breaks up with his, for the lack of better words, POS ex boyfriend, and after a few fights and arguments, they find common ground over Jeng's signature dish. With each bowl they share, they flirt and they fight, and they start to figure out that there's something there. The story could have been developed way better with more episodes, there is the notion of wanting to pack an emotional punch and provide proper backstories and emotional arcs for the characters, but it's hard to do with 2 episodes.

Nevertheless, there was definitely a lot of special things about these episodes, and the prospect of the two of building a loving relationship after a few hardships and just a few days together really solidified the depth of their bond. A beautiful story

Do you believe in coincidence?

Moreover, do you believe in destiny? That someone out there is your soulmate, and meeting them coincidentally 3 times only affirms the fact that they're your soulmate.

Butr is more than skeptical about this idea at first because if it is indeed true, his soulmate is someone he has no interest in. This all changes when he runs into Korn, who he's attracted to, and he's now convinced that the prophecy is true. Every time they run into each other, it feels like coincidence, even when it's not. But Butr is not the only one who wants their meetings to be a coincidence, because Korn has reasons for them to be coincidences as well. What it results in is a comedy of errors with each of them trying to figure out if the other person likes them while trying to create moments to prove that they are each other's soulmates.

While some things could have been executed better, they did a commendable job with the premise. It was funny, the leads had some cute chemistry and it was truly something new. It was better than expected and it had its moments and potential.

It spirals out of control

Truth be told, the high rating is only because I adore the leads. They have beautiful chemistry, oh so smooth, which is why it sucks that the story barely focused on them.

Every single character but Boss and Tob probably had more screentime, and I wouldn't really say it helped the story. Over the top acting, stilted dialogue, they couldn't get it right. There are plenty of dramas that depict unfettered chaos in the form of chaotic characters and situations like We Are Both Grooms and We Are Gamily, but despite the premise being similar it didn't hit the same. The runtime is of course not quite enough, but there are ways to make it more enjoyable.

Despite the drawbacks, it is a short enough series where the chemistry between the leads shines even with their minimal screentime. They need another series because watching this will make you want to watch (or rewatch) Destiny Seeker

Right You, but is it the Right Time?

This miniseries is like a lullaby in the best possible way, might lull you to sleep accidentally but genuinely warm and comforting.

The series is about the leads, just the two of them. Phat is heartbroken and staying with his friend and her younger brother Mhok. There is an instant connection between Mhok and Phat because they have a backstory but it is also incredibly obvious that Phat is not ready to date yet. His friend decides that a series of rituals and methods to help Phat forget his ex is the way to go, and when these don't work, the gang turns to copious amounts of alcohol that leads to serious conversations between Mhok and Phat, and moments that help them both heal from the past love they each carry.

This story was deeper than I expected, albeit a little slow because of the abundance of scenes that lent nothing to the story like the rituals, but for 2 episodes, they manage to keep your attention by instigating the feeling of "will they, won't they?" A good series weighed down by some unnecessary elements.

I promised myself that I wouldn’t write a review for this series, but here we are. This review is not one of personal opinion, but rather completely objective.

What makes a series good? A cast who can genuinely act, or a production house that knows it’s way around, or a story worth sticking with? Unfortunately, Amore seems to possess just one. Acting can only carry a series up to a particular point, after which the audience needs something more to stay with the series through it’s run. Be it whether there are sound glitches, an everlasting story that seems to be headed nowhere or the introduction of controversial actors, Amore has it’s fair share of problems, but what is the factor that this series contains that continually keeps the viewers interested?

The answer to that would seem to be the acting. The chemistry between the characters, especially Wil and Joey is off the charts right now and these characters seem genuine, which resonates with many an audience. The cast only seems to improve every single episode and that’s an amazing thing, but it’s not enough. As I mentioned before, just good acting is not the saviour. This was marketed as a love story between Jimmy and Joey, and that was honestly the reason I started this series, but as the episodes pass, I feel myself getting tired of the ongoing storyline. With the absolute absence of romance between the leads as of now, lack of consent, the love interests that keep hounding the lead, this drama seems to be heading down hill.

What’s still keeping you and I here though? That I don’t know the answer to. Maybe it’s hope that it will get better, or maybe you are genuinely interested in the show. Be what it may, by my standards this is mediocre. I sit here with the hope that it will get better and if it does, maybe this review will end on a positive note.

EDIT AFTER EPISODE 25
So..... it did not get better. Yes the acting is absolutely consistent, and my complaint that the story seems to be going nowhere is quenched, but god, when did the story get this bad. For a while, it genuinely looked like the story was going to get better than before, but it somehow took a turn for the worse.

Long drawn out dialogues, unnecessarily written scenes that seem to have no ultimate connection to the final outcome of the story, the writing out of several main characters and the incredibly annoying behaviour of some characters are just unbearable at this point.

Once again, good acting can only get you to one point, you need way more than just acting to make a series enjoyable. Be it a very popular series, a much anticipated sequel or a series with not much to go for, we look for elements that make it enjoyable to the self and have come to expect a certain level of quality, which Amore seems to lack. A certain panache, if you will. Yes, the leads finally got together, in the 25th episode. The baby,.... well something happened to the baby and I don’t want to spoil it more than I already have.

With the news out that the director was fired from the company, the fate of the series hangs in the air. Will it be continued, or concluded on that slightly positive note remains to be seen.

EDIT AFTER THE FINALE
What in the actual f*** was that!!!! True Love is Sacrifice!!!! I mean seriously.... what was that???
Like they got together in episode 25, they were happy in episode 26, then comes episode 27 and bam! Jimmy goes off to become a priest!?! Like whyyy??? I’m so pissed right now.

Even without the horrible ending, the series has nothing to brag about. The premise seemed extremely interesting and it seemed like it was going to be a light hearted rom - com type series, but they just had to go the dramatic route. Sometimes the really predictable story is leagues better, and maybe with a better script and a slightly higher budget, this would have been a good, a great series even, but now, it has literally ended on nothing.

As I’ve already mentioned, it started out well, fizzled out somewhere in between and finally went out without a bang. Some dramas work, this didn’t.
