My favorite Zombie show ever

Yes, there are some little plot holes - I'll get to those later - but overall, this was amazing. There were episodes where I was completely glued to the screen and did not dare to move. I've watched many zombie shows and movies but this is now by far my favorite. The drama starts out good, then becomes really amazing and fast-paced, then there's one episode that is slower and less plot-driven, but it is a nice breather before the final few action-filled episodes.

The young actors all did amazing jobs bringing these characters to life. The good characters, as well as the bad, that viewers really really hate. I found On Jo kind of annoying but I guess that's part of her character. I loved that there was no plot armor and anyone could die at any time - major characters included.

I guess the only questions I had are the following:
- Does anyone who gets bitten by Gwinam only turn into a "Hambie"? The characters assume this, because both Gwinam and Namra, who was bitten by him, are Hambies. And Soohyeok even says to Namra "If you bite me, I will only turn into what you are." But then why did Nayeon, who was also bitten by Gwinam, turn into a full zombie??
- If you have Namra in your group, who is immune to the Zombies, why not just let her bite everyone in the group in order to get out of the school? Kind of like a vaccine?
- Did all her friends forget that On Jo got bitten by that first girl who got bitten by the hamster? Shouldn't she have turned into either a Hambie or a Zombie, or be immune to everything? Maybe the second season will reveal that she's got like super-immunity, but why did none of her friends stop and think "hey, didn't you get bitten?"

Hilarious and weirdly relatable

Most people probably think this plot is very silly and unrealistic, but for some of us it is pretty real.

I have very bad skin and for years I wouldn’t even go to the grocery store without a full face of make-up. I look very different with make-up on and I have actually had people laugh at me, when they saw my bare face for the first time. So my point is, Ju Gyeong’s story might be more relatable to viewers than you think.

Up until episode 13, I might have given this a score of 9. I loved everything about it: I screamed laughing several times, I loved both Cha Eun Woo and Hwang In Yeop, I could relate to Ju Gyeong and I adored her sister’s side plot.

But then the drama fell victim to the „too many episodes“ curse. I do not know the webtoon, so I can only review the plot of the drama, which would’ve found the perfect ending at the end of episode 13. I seriously thought that was the end of the drama cause the ending scene was perfect. But then I realized that there are three more episodes. Which is why I paused the drama at that point and only forced myself to watch those last three episodes many weeks later. They ended up not being as bad as expected - but still, some unnecessary added drama.

However, I definitely still recommend watching this. It is absolutely hilarious. Seriously, I laughed so loudly, I’m pretty sure you could hear me down the whole street.

To put it in Mi-ho's words, I liked this very very very very very much.

This drama has been on my watchlist for ten years but somehow I never got around to it. Watching it now, ten years later, made me realize how far K-dramas have come production-wise but it was also super nostalgic in the best way.

Story
I really liked the plot. I've never watched or read a Gumiho story before, so it was very interesting to learn about the folklore. The pacing of the story was really good and never had any dull moments. Only the ending felt kinda sudden - I would have loved to see a bit more into the future and see Mi-ho's other dreams come true.
I also really enjoyed the side-story of the aunt and the director. I cried laughing at some of their scenes.

Acting
Lee Seung Gi and Shin Min Ah have really great chemistry. Shin Min Ah's interpretation of a clueless, innocent Gumiho who is excited about the human world was really well done and adorable. And Park Soo Jin and Noh Min Woo were amazing antagonists, to the point where they made my skin crawl. The acting was outstanding all over, really.

I don't really know what else to say right now, cause I just finished it - I feel happy and content.

A hopeful gore-fest about monsters and monsters within us

WOW. I just finished this.

Let me start by saying it is definitely very gorey. If you can't stomach that, you should stay away from this drama.
But it is so much more than just gore: The monsters are, at least in the beginning, incredibly fun to watch. It has a certain comic/anime feel to it. The acting is incredibly good and the music fitting, both in action-loaded an emotional scenes.

I loved the setting of this run-down house with all these characters that have somewhat lost their way in life but are rediscovering what it means to be human and alive.

In the end, the real monsters are not always those that have transformed, but those within us. The season finale was epic. I cannot wait for more. I also really really love Song Kang in this role - amazing acting with adorable monster eyes.

Jung Chae Yeon is gorgeous and makes a believable stoic robot who learns to emote. The plot is ok but could have had a better dramaturgical build-up. The ending was quite unsatisfactory, too. Some of the supporting actors came across as just as robotic as Annie, which probably wasn't intended. I especially could not warm up to her unnie (forgot her name). All in all it was cute but it didn't really touch me. I had to motivate myself to finish it, even though it is super short, I almost did not finish it.

The ultimate classic

Ah, where to begin..? I have a lot of feelings about Secret Garden. Rewatching after ten years, however, made some of these feelings conflicting.

First of all, the cast is amazing! Hyun Bin, Ha Ji Won, Kim Sa Rang, Yoon Sang Hyun, and even a guest appearance of my love, Lee Joon Hyuk. I adore every single one of them!

Their portrayal of the characters is real and relatable. While I love Kim Joo Won and Gil Ra Im, it is Oska and Yoon Seul who own my heart. Both times rewatching, they were my favorite plot line. Sure, the main plot is hilarious and dramatic and sweet, but it is Oska and Seul that I can relate to. Especially Yoon Seul, I adore her. When I first watched Secret Garden ten years ago, I was going through a tough time and her character actually helped me through it. And Oska is honestly the heart of the show.

The main pairing however, during my latest rewatch, made me a bit uncomfortable at times. I know it is normal in Kdramas for the men to drag the women around by their arms and yell at them for weird reasons, but somehow, Joo Won is on a whole other level. Especially the various scenes of him pushing her on some bed (and the one where he tries to break into her hotel room) had me shift uncomfortably in my seat. (Also, that really long forced kiss that she keeps hitting him during.) I guess the fact that Ra Im could throw Joo Won on his back and break his arm within seconds if she really wanted to, was somewhat consoling, but that doesn't mean I was a fan of those scenes.

The plot has some amazing climaxes and plot twists but it also has parts (entire episodes) where it really drags. I think the first switching should've happened sooner. Otherwise, some people (my sister) could already loose interest before it happens. Furthermore, the conversations between Joo Won and Ra Im and with Joo Won's mother felt quite repetitive after a while. In episode 17, the writers really redeemed themselves with a great creative plot twist but then I think they should've gone all the way with it or at least dragged it out. Instead, they introduce YET ANOTHER dramatic development and continue the same conversations with the mother. ugh

Despite these plot weaknesses and a basic lack of 'no-means-no', Secret Garden knows how to touch you in those moments when the plot is at a high. There are a lot of really emotional scenes that always touch me deeply and make me cry like a baby. Also, despite their flaws, you continue to root for the characters and suffer along every step with them. The emotions, of course, are intensified by the amazingly beautiful OST.

Secret Garden is definitely not the most eloquent drama out there, but you will scream laughing and cry your eyes out, plus it is the ultimate classic, brought to life by an outstanding cast. So, yes, you should definitely watch it.

I honestly don't know where to begin writing this review ... City Hunter has such a special place in my heart! I just rewatched it for the first time in probably 8 years and it was just as brilliant as all those years ago. Once again, it made me feel every emotion known to man and I was unable to contain them! I laughed, screamed and squealed out loud and cried like a baby. It honestly has everything I could ever want from a drama and then some: An edge-of-your-seat revenge plot, a slow-burn love story, a rich guy who falls for a poor girl, major plot twists, a brilliant bromance, an outstanding cast and an absolutely beautiful OST. Seriously, the OST is so beautiful, I could cry just listening to Lim Jae Bum.

I expected the revenge plot and the romance, etc. However, what took me by surprise was the way Lee Minho and Lee Joon Hyuk play off each other. They have such amazing on-screen chemistry that transforms their characters' relationship into a whole different league within the story.

I guess the only part that was not perfect, was the ending, which I thought was very sudden and I was left with a lot of questions. Not even questions about the main plot but questions about those ending scene.s They were very weird and random. Plus, there are one or two characters who I think should have died.

The cast! Lee Minho, of course, is always a treat. Goo Hara, my love, it was good to see you again, but also incredibly sad. She was so charming. Lee Joon Hyuk, the moment I first laid my eyes on him in City Hunter, 9 years ago, I was a goner.

This drama is the crème de la crème! You will laugh, cry and scream and when it's over you will not know what to do with your life.

I absolutely loved this. I think this is the best mini drama I've seen, so far. It was so good, that it didn't actually feel like a mini drama. Of course it's still gonna be a bit rushed, cause that's the curse of mini dramas, but pacing and production-wise this is the best mini drama I've seen.
It was also the best Korean BL chemistry I've seen. Kim Ji Woong and Yoon Seo Bin had great chemistry and portrayed their characters very convincingly. Even the kiss scenes were more convincing than in other Korean BL mini dramas because they didn't shy away from anything and gave it their all.

Also, can I just say, wow, Kim Ji Woong, what a gorgeous human!

Seo Kang Joon + Books = Perfection

Truthfully, I may not be the best person to rate this drama, cause you could show me 16 hours of nothing but Seo Kang Joon walking around in comfy knitwear, drinking coffee and reading books, and I would rate it 10/10.
The role of Eun Sub seems truly perfect for him, as he is shy in real life, as well. It felt like we got to see glimpses of the real him.

"When the Weather is Nice" is definitely a slow drama. It might not be everyone's cup of tea (or coffee in this case). However, the pace is actually very well done and never feels like it is dragging on. Watching this is a very special experience - it is very atmospheric and calming and somewhat intimate. One night, I had trouble falling asleep, so I replayed some previous episodes and I ended up having the best sleep that night.

While it feels like a warm hug most of the time, it also has a very intriguing plot and even some surprising twists in the second half of the drama. At one point I actually sat in front of the screen with bulging eyes and my mouth covered in shock.
As a screenwriter, I felt really inspired by this story and they way it was told. So much so, that I kept writing down a bunch of ideas for a screenplay. I was particularly intrigued by the way all these characters are never able to say what they feel. Not just Eun Sub, but also Hae Won, her mother, her aunt, Bo Young...

The calming, cozy countryside world they created, is brought to life by a cast of precious side-characters, which will steal your heart. While I obviously loved the main couple (I'm a fan of both actors), I was equally intrigued by Hae Won's aunt. The further the drama progressed, the more she became my favorite character.

But it isn't just the screenplay and the nuanced acting, that make this drama such a piece of art, it is also the beautiful cinematography and color grading, as well as the mesmerizing OST - both bringing out the calm and coziness even more. Especially with the cello that is part of most of the OST's instrumentals, which even has additional meaning in connection to the story. "I See You" by Giryeon is my favorite vocal OST - it is THE song of the drama for me and I immediately get transported back into the story when I listen to it.

So, the important question: Should you watch it? Yes! Seo Kang Joon runs a book store! What more do you need to be convinced?

(This review is an emotional robot-loving mess! You've been warned!)

Ah man! Ah man, ah man, ah man! I'm so sad this is over!

When I started watching the first episode, it only took about 10 minutes and I knew this would become one of my all-time favorite dramas.

Initially, I put this drama on my watch list because of my love, Lee Joon Hyuk. Surprisingly, I had never seen a drama with Seo Kang Joon before. But the I started "I'll Go To You, When The Weather Is Nice", which is currently airing, and instantly fell in love with with him. I wish I was kidding. But I literally saw his first scene and was like "Oh shit". But by then, only three episodes of IGTYWTWIN (wow, never using that acronym again) had been released and I literally could not stand to wait a week until I would see Seo Kang Joon again. I needed more RIGHT THEN AND THERE. So I started watching "Are You Human, Too?", remembering that Lee Joon Hyuk is in it, too. So, basically, my two ultimate crushes in one drama.

I'm not sure why I wrote all of that down because I guess no one cares. But anyways, I adore these two men!

AYHT had me feel every possible human emotion. I laughed, screamed, squealed, cried and got angry. The first 16 or something episodes I binged like a maniac, screaming into my pillow. Then human Nam Shin came back and several times I had to force myself to watch the next episode - not because it stopped being good but because I was so scared of what might happen to Nam Shin III.

Seo Kang Joon is absolutely brilliant in this double role. While playing a jerk is something done well by many actors, I've never seen anyone play a robot as brilliantly as he does. The movement of his head! The expressions on his face! The look in his eyes!! God, he is so gooood!

And lets face it: Nam Shin III is the ultimate boyfriend material! He embodies everything good in men, without the creepy aspects. Since he doesn't have any sexual desire, he never objectives her in the slightest. Now, so far, that is just like an asexual man. But it's not just a lack of sexual desire, it is also the fact that having been built in a lab (and by a woman), he didn't grow up in a misogynistic world, where he would've gotten indoctrinated with ideas of toxic masculinity and superiority. His creator is a woman (does that mean his God is a woman?), his mother is a woman, the first person he ever met is a woman. The first person who treated him like a human is a woman. His first friend is a woman. He adores women. All he wants to do is protect her and be close to her. I feel like I got off track here...

Basically, I'm saying robots are better humans and I need me a robot boyfriend like yesterday.

I've really lost track of what I was gonna say, now. Hmm..

I died when he befriended the roomba - purest thing ever! I never thought I would squeal because of a roomba.

The cast apart from Seo Kang Joon and Lee Joon Hyuk were great, too. Somehow, Gong Seung Yeon has never been on my radar. But damn she is amazing! I need to watch more dramas with her. Kim Sung Ryung is a great actress but damn, do I despise her in evil mom roles since "You're Beautiful". Do you know how I realized it was her? THAT VOICE! I would recognize that voice anywhere. She really gets under my skin because of these roles.

I've also been playing the OST non-stop! Especially "Heart" from 2BIC. Such a great, emotional song.

Basically, this drama emotionally destroyed me over and over again. I loved seeing this innocent robot discovering what it means to be human! And the very last frame, when a tear rolls down his cheek, was absolutely soul-crushingly perfect.

((When your rant about a fictional robot makes you realize you might truly be asexual...))

Might not be for you if you suffer from second-hand embarrassment

This is a difficult one to rate. I enjoyed it but it took me a long time to finish it because I was always dreading the second-hand embarrassment Moo Hak was giving me. It was honestly a bit much at times. Just like Da Li's naivety was also too much at times.

The first episode was laugh-out-oud funny, then it dragged a bit but it turned around in the second half and became more bingeable. The second half was actually really good because the murder mystery became a bigger part. I also really liked the artsy editing but wasn't the biggest fan of the OST.

All in all it's cute with some hilarious moments, but also quite a bit of cringe and in the long term probably not particularly memorable.

This was cute.

Despite the small budget, there are some visually stunning scenes and the OST is beautiful. Sometimes the dialogue is a bit awkward, which isn't entirely the actors' fault, but the screenwriter's. The acting was ok. While Heo Hyun Jun seems a bit stiff and expressionless at times, theres' something about him, that intrigued me. I'd really like to see him in a Bad Boy role.

The whole Mono/Probe thing...I cannot decide whether I find it a brilliant metaphor for queerness, or a cringey fanfic trope.
