So good that it needs to be made into a full series!

This short form show needs to be made into a full series immediately!

While you can only get the first three eps on Youtube, some beautiful human downloaded the whole series onto BiliBili which you can watch here
https://www.bilibili.tv/en/video/4793311726800896

Good acting, good story, cute wimpy corporate slave, hot Yakuza - what more could you want? The Japanese have such a talent for concise storytelling and the fact that they have crammed what could comfortably be a 10 episode series into 30 minutes is testament to that. That being said, I liked it so much that I want more! More cute moments, more tough Yakuza moments, more back story for both characters, more shots of that tattoo!

Well done, Japan - another winner from you. This show is definitely worth 30 minutes of your time.

A solid JBL

I'm clearly, and sadly, in the minority but I really liked it. While everyone keeps saying "I'm trying not to compare it to the original", everyone is doing exactly that imo.

As a stand alone JBL, it did a lot in only 8 short episodes. A fair amount of story, a lot of character development, and some really serious issues sensitively and sympathetically covered.

Arashi is obviously insanely hot and as such, some may say his love for Rei seemed unrealistic. However, Rei's innocent smile and dumb, adorable ways melted Arashi's cold heart and I loved them together. I also thought Rei's attitude when he was in trouble in the last ep really solidified what Arashi loved about him - this cute guy who's a total dork but also has the heart of a warrior and who'll battle fiercely for those he cares about. The guy's got balls and Arashi freaking loves that.

Kai's character is so well acted. The depiction of a poor, damaged boy whose misery is visible in every facial expression broke my heart a number of times. While I can admit that Fuma is probably the weakest character, I felt that the relationship between Kai and Fuma developed really well with lots of pathos and some real tear jerking moments, particularly in the last episode, which was superbly acted by both guys. It's at that point you realise that Fuma, as a slightly older guy with a fair amount of experience, clearly acted in a light, cheerful way as he knew that Fuma had suffered in his past and wanted to make it clear that Kai wouldn't suffer again in his hands. I want them to be happy together forever.

Concisely told with sweet and savage moments, I think this was a great show. If you like Japanese BL's, I suggest you give it a watch.

A cute love story ruined by incest, rape, and annoying characters

This started off mostly well - the love story between Ae and Pete is really sweet and it was so nice to have an openly gay character. They have a pretty grown up relationship which was good to see. If the whole show had been about them, I'd have rated it much higher. But sadly, it wasn't.
Everything else is beyond gross or annoying. Why no reviews mention Tum and Tar being two ACTUAL brothers in love with each other and the wrongness of it is beyond me! I kept waiting for the bit where you find out one's adopted to make it sightly less disgusting but that never happened. I'm not sure why they felt the need to have Tar be a rape victim other than, in some sick way, they thought it legitimised him being in love with his brother as he couldn't trust other men, and there's never any explanation as to why Tum is in love with his sibling. When Tum tells Tar he's in love with him, Tar says his rape is the reason why Tum shouldn't love him - YOU SHOULDN'T LOVE HIM BECAUSE HE'S YOUR BROTHER, YOU SICK F*CK!
As for the other characters, Kla stalks then rapes No which then ends with cute music and a hand job like it's fine - WHICH IT ISN'T!!! Tin is insanely gorgeous and I actually enjoyed the character development, but his relationship with Can is mostly him forcing Can (who looks waaay too young and is possibly mentally retarded) to kiss him against his will until Can starts enjoying it. The females in it - Can's sister, Ley, and Ae's fan, Champoo - are both insanely irritating, and Pond is a pervert who manages to still get a girlfriend despite being a deluded sleaze and a porn addict. They also do a product placement for face whitening cream like it's not sad that such a thing even exists.
All of my stars are for AePete, and I judge the sh*t out of anyone not offended by this show which, apart from AePete, is an insult to the LGBTQ community, rape victims, and men in general.

The best actor in this is Khun Shy...who's a turtle

I have literally no idea why people like this show as much as they do.

It's the story of a Diew, a deeply odd looking, and let's be honest, selfish introvert (who bafflingly has decided to do the one thing that can make a Thai guy stand out which is dye his hair a bizarre blondy orange colour) beginning a relationship with God, the attractive but ultimately dull guy who lives next door who clearly cannot drum even though they've cast him as a drummer.

That's it.

The theme song was good the first few times I heard it, but as the series has gone on and it is the only song that has ever featured, it's become increasingly boring.

Diew's mum is a dick, his grandad is well meaning but does little to help, and his ex-boyfriend is a prick vet with no lips who apologises for what he did years ago, but fails to mention that he tried to sabotage Diew's new relationship literally the day before. God's friends are mostly annoying and it would be hard to care less about Beer and Wan's relationship after what I can only describe as one of the more woeful, awkward, and frankly terrible kisses I've ever seen in a BL.

The acting is terrible across the board, the script is cringey, and the MC's have zero chemistry. The one star I gave this show is for God without a shirt on, which was admittedly a very enjoyable experience, but the two or three times it happens do not make this series worth watching.

I dragged myself through ten episodes only to come to the realisation that I don't care. I don't care if the MC's stay together, I don't care if God's friends start dating, and I don't care if his grandad dies. I just hope that the turtle gets a better tank as he's been desperately trying to escape from his prison for 10 episodes. Which is a fitting metaphor for this show. I'm now breaking free, and I pray that Khun Shy manages the same.

This could have been amazing - but it wasn't

If I live to be a thousand years old, I will never understand why this show turned out the way it did. This should have been a really great series with us all enjoying the beauty that comes from a TutorYim shipping. But that's not how things turned out.

I can almost imagine it. It's day one of filming, and scene one is starting. The cameras start rolling and Yim begins acting his lines, reprising the role of Jade with his innocence and childish exuberance. Suddenly, the director yells, "Cut! So Yim, that was great and all but we really want to ramp it up for this show. I know that in Bed Friend, Jade was a little bit...over enthusiatic and awkward, but we were thinking for this series...could you play it like Jade is autistic? I mean reeeeally autistic. Think Pee Wee Herman after a massive brain injury...aaand ACTION!"

And so we ended up with this. It could have been a cute AF show about a nervous, overlooked young man finally attracting the man of his dreams with his nievety and childlike nature. What we got is a hot guy wanting to be in a relationship with someone with severe learning difficulties, which just made Mai seem creepy and weirdly predatory. Mr. Director, you made me think Tutor is creepy! YOU MONSTER! (T_T) The Gus and Tong storyline was how this whole show should have been - complicated, awkward characters who you felt real empathy for.

The show became better for the last two episodes as Yim was allowed to dial up the sad and dial down the wacky which made him a much more believable character. The NC scenes were so good that it almost made the series bearable...almost. If you're a TutorYim fan, I'd recommend just watching the last 2 eps - you'll learn everything about the plot that you need to from the synopsis and will save yourself 6 irritating hours. I actually feel really sorry for Tutor and Yim that they have to be connected to this train wreck of a series that story and cast wise, had such fantastic potential. Don't worry boys, it's not your fault, we still love you.

Interesting, but not entertaining

This production gave real "made by a film student" vibes from the sound quality, to the setting, to the story being told in essentially 1 minute snippets. And frankly, I think this would have been a lot more successful as a 15 minute short film.

The first half hour (episode 1) spans 1 year and 11 months of relationship, while the second half hour (episodes 2 and 3) spans a month of break up. It's an interesting way to tell the story of a whole relationship from beginning to end, but I can't say it was particularly entertaining. There's surprisingly little emotion shown by either character for the entirety of the series, and neither are really that likeable. It's very Japanese though.

If you're a media student, it's probably worth a watch but I can't really say is recommend it to the majority of people.

Purrfection that got my tail wagging!

This is the most cute, heartwarming, funny, adorable, stupid, heartbreaking show I've watched in a long time.

Jungwoo, a lonely guy living an empty life, comes home one night to find two stunningly beautiful men on his doorstep who are none other than reincarnations of his beloved pets from childhood - Choco, a Maltese puppy, and Milk, a stray cat.

Both Choco and Milk do amazing jobs at encapsulating the pets' characteristics, with Choco following Jungwoo everywhere he goes and embodying the kind of boundless, unconditional love that only a dog can give, and Milk spending most of his time lying on the sofa or batting away any hands that try to touch him. The only other character is Jungwoo's uncle who runs the cafe that Jungwoo works at and where they all spend a lot of time during the series. There's also great development from Choco and Milk as they begin to embrace their humanity which sees their innocent love take on more romantic characteristics.

The story is beautifully told and well acted by all involved. I laughed, I cried, I awwwed, I fell in love with Choco. I can't recommend this highly enough and I can't wait for season 2!

This important show deserves a longer series!

A brilliantly acted, brave and important, but woefully short series, Taming The Bad Boy's trailer does not tell the whole story.

The trailer leads you to believe that the bad boy in question is Holland's character, Tae Sop, the number one school delinquent, and that this is a show all about his relationship with the new student, Jin U. But in reality, these moments are few and far between. Instead, this is a series about LGBTQIA harassment in Korean schools. It shows a realistic portrayal of what gay students suffer, including violence and bullying, at the hands of their classmates and society at large. I actually wonder if the trailer wasn't almost a ruse to draw in BL viewers who wouldn't normally bother to watch a show like this in order to educate them about the realities of being a young gay man in Korea.

There are really lovely portrayals of some of the different sides of the community, from Tae Sop saying he doesn't like guys but he does like Jin U; to light BDSM scenes that are done with a sweetness rarely seen; to the exuberant, joyful dancing of the three gay side characters; to the homosexual school nurse becoming angry when a student spouts misconceptions about AIDS in a sex-ed lesson. The scene after the credits also deals with the influence of parents on young LGBTQIA members, as well as trying to make the audience understand that bullies are victims too. After all, isn't Min Hyeok the actual bad boy who has been tamed? That's the real subservience in the show - a young man being coerced and controlled by powerful adults who don't consider anything except social conformity.

Yes, the romance between Tae Sop and Jin U is rushed, and I can understand why people watched this at face value and were disappointed. But the importance of having an openly gay star in this show and dealing with very real issues shouldn't be overlooked. The only reason that I didn't rate it higher was due to the length of the show - I wish it could have been 8 episodes so we could have delved more into Tae Sop and Jin U's relationship which, despite all the dog collar action, was very tender and sweet; learned more about the bully Min Hyeok, his motivations, and his feelings about them; and seen more of the fabulous nurse. This is so worth an hour of your life.

So insanely dull

This is the only BL I've watched where I had to fast forward through massive chunks just to get through it. It's so so soooo boring - the plot is really dull and takes ages to go anywhere, there's no chemistry between the leads, and I have no idea why it's rated 15 as there's only two or three very bad, passionless kisses (if you consider putting your lips on someone else's and not moving them at all as kissing) and one scene where they're in bed together and literally nothing happens. I mean LITERALLY nothing - they just look at each other with their shoulders exposed. The acting isn't bad exactly but it's so low key that you're in very real danger of slipping into a coma while watching it. Ha Jong Woo is the only good thing in it - he has beautiful lips. That's it. Don't waste your time.

GeneThitnuea are narak!

The first special is pretty dull but I actually really enjoyed the GeneThitnuea episode! Sure, nothing really happens (apart from Gene literally learning to play the guitar in an evening) but they are super cute together and Thitnuea totally gives me Boun vibe which can't be a bad thing! Their episode is genuinely the best thing to do with this series IMO and I'm super glad I watched it. All of my rating stars are for them ☆☆☆

Sweet but dull

Baby Pavel is super narak but the series is ultimately just a bit dull. There's a few storylines in it but none are particularly gripping, although the Gene Thitnuea ship is actually really cute (their special is the best thing about this series). It's sweet enough and I don't regret watching it but I'd recommend leaving it at the end of your watchlist and only bothering when there's literally no other BL's you want to watch.

It's nowhere near as bad as everyone says!

I don't entirely get why this has got SO much hate. I wonder why some BL fans expect high quality productions because, let's be honest, we're not really here for cutting edge directors or excellent scripts...we're here for the cuteness! Well, I am at least.

Yes, it's weird that there is a dog cafe with neither dogs nor customers. Yes, it's weird that the Korean characters can understand but not speak Thai, and the Thai guy can understand but not speak Korean. Yes, its weird (and a bit of a shame) that it takes half the series for the MC's to properly interact. Yes, it's weird that a vet in his 40's who wears Laboutin shoes has a 25 year old flatmate who he's clearly in love with. Yes, it's even more weird when you find out said vet looks exactly like the 25 year old's ex-boyfriend. And yes, it's weird that it's called Love Is Like A Cat when that phrase only appears as the last line in the last song at the end of the last episode. But who cares?!

The MC's are gorgeous (particularly Daybyeol) and work well together, Uno really develops as a character, and the CEO steals the show. There are some funny moments - Uno trying to bat away robot dogs while wearing cat ears springs to mind; sad moments - I even shed a tear for the poor doggy even though I'm really not an animal person; and adorable romantic moments - Uno's press conference...and that's plenty for me to spend a mere 3 hours of my life on.

Is it brilliant? No. But once you get past the weirdness, it's really quite enjoyable. If you're a BL watcher who doesn't expect HBO level productions, give it a go.

Just plain terrible in every way

This show is just bad. And stupid. And bad again. I really didn't enjoy it from the start but as all the reviews said to persevere to episode 5, I did just that and frankly, I deserve a bravery award for making it as far as I did. The whole premise of the cool kids inexplicably fancying and wanting to hang with all the geek reject kids is laughable, but not in the way you'd want.

Toh is beyond ridiculous as a character - having a secret crush doesn't generally involve saving everything your crush touches (including rubbish) in a ziplock bag and periodically sniffing it, plastering your wall with secret photos you've taken of them, and having bedsheets printed with them on it (how did he even get that photo that's printed on the sheets?!) It would have made some vague sense if he fancied an idol who he'd never meet, but the idea of doing that with a guy you go to school with smacks of a pretty severe mental illness. His voice is intensely irritating and his smile makes me want to punch him in the face until his glasses disintegrate. Needless to say, none of that makes him a likeable character who you're rooting for.

Toh's crush ... let's be real, Toh's stalking victim, Nuea, is completely devoid of any personality or intelligence, but I'm sure that even if someone with his limited mental capacity knew the truth about Toh's obsessive proclivities, he'd run a mile, as well he should. But instead, he seems to find Toh's social anxiety ridden exclamations charming, so frankly he deserves whatever he has coming to him, which in real life would be him being kneecapped and held hostage in a sunny version of Misery.

Sky's "50 no's and a yes still mean yes" approach to dating is disturbing (as is his face), and the fact that he's doing it to Jao, a guy who looks and acts like a 12 year old with autism doesn't really scream "romance" to me. And when Sky asked him to be his lover after Jao pretended to commit suicide, I knew this show was a lost cause.

Som, Daisy, Tor, Fon and Khongkwan are fine.

The reviews for this both astound and baffle me as I couldn't find a single redeeming feature in this train wreck of a show. If your thing is watching dumb cool kids inexplicably wanting to date dumb geek kids who act like children on day release from special school, you'll probably enjoy this. But I suggest you ignore the positive reviews, don't waste five hours of your precious life like I did, and literally watch anything else.

A thing of pure beauty

This show is just so so wonderful! The story of a friendship, and blossoming romance, between a shy, insular boy who's going deaf and a dorky, exuberant, excitable puppy of a boy who becomes his note-taker in class.
The leads are amazing actors who have a really beautiful and pure chemistry. There are some real laugh out loud moments from Taichi, a guy who cannot fail to make you smile with his boundless energy, but he'll also make you cry with his sincerity and purity of heart. It's no surprise that Kouhei falls for him as Taichi treats him with a respect and honest friendship that he's never known before.
Be warned that when she arrives, you will hate Maya - the new girl with hearing loss who is Kouhei's junior - with the burning intensity of a thousand, white-hot suns!
The only reason this didn't get a solid 10 from me was that I really would have liked to have seen one tiny, beautiful kiss between them, instead of the one fakey, shot from behind their head so you see nothing kiss. But to be honest, even if this had been a bromance rather than a BL, I still would have loved it! It's charming and sweet and funny and touching and beautiful and I'll definitely be watching it again!

It's bad, and not in a good way

It's so hard to believe that this was only made last year - it feels like a relic. The story actually isn't bad but I can't understand why you'd dub the voices of talented actors, even if it is for comic effect! I can't help feeling that they shot the series then find out none of the audio had recorded, so just decided to go with this wacko Kung Pow dubbing idea. The worst crime is that it isn't even funny - I binged the series in one go and wanted to rip my eyes out by episode 5. Even the beauty of Long isn't enough to make this bearable.
