The fact that every episode is better than the last is making me real worried about how they're going to be able to keep it up until the 16th, and I really hope I don't have a heart attack watching it til then
Kind of uneventful episode except for the break-up. This episode actually set up a lot of things that are going to happen: rumors about Ji Wook and SB's relationship? Conflict between DH and YJ family (YJ's omma probably hired DH's parents with some sort of plan of humiliation)? DH becoming more aware of SB? Hate how YJ's omma made DH's omma say all those things without knowing she was talking about her own son. Seriously don't understand those type of unsupportive parents. I fastfoward all scenes about the webtoon guy and SB's friend. Although I see some problems with the show, I'm not the kind of person to judge the details so much, to me a show is good if i enjoy myself while watching and look forward to the next, so i'm loving Backstreet Rookie.
I think the last scene alone is enough to give a 10/10 for this episode. Being the first k-drama I have watched with those to main leads, I can be unbiased and say that their acting is simply phenomenal. I don't even have words to Seo Ye Ji. One of the actress that I like for her acting skills is Son Ye Jin, and one of the things I think they have in common is how much both of them can say and express with only their eyes, without being extra about it. Loving this drama!!!!
Oh my god!!!! I literaly cried, smiled and laughed every time MY and GT did. I'm lucky I'm alone, I must've been looking like a fool while watching. This is the best episode so far, no questions asked. We can see Moon Young becoming more conscious of her own issues, Gang Tae opening up not only to himself but also to other important people around him. The interactions between MY and GT were so well performed, I don't know how to clearly say what i'm thinking, but I like the way how we can see that they didn't really change their personalities to suit each other (like Moon Young straightfowardness) but it's like they simply found a way to fit and understand each other. GT and MY interaction while Gang Tae was drunk was sooooo good. Seeing GT expressing his emotions was so touching too. The haircut was such a powerful message to express the process of healing in which MY is going through. 10/10 for this episode. Now two things: 1. I'm still so confused about what to think about MY omma and the strange things happening at the hospital, at first I thought it was all metaphorical, but in the next episode pre-view when the doctor says something like "there are strange things happening here" I didn't know what to think, which is a good thing! Anxiously waiting for tomorrow's episode. 2. The preview also got me worried about how Sang-tae will react to GT and MY relationship. I'm so glad I got to start watching K-Dramas this year (only highlight of 2020)
I'm kinda confused because to me Dae Hyun seems romantically unaffected towards Saet Byul, it's more like a very good friendship, while it seems like his feelings for Yeon Joo are really genuine. So I don't really see where this is going. In the supposed tension moments it seems like he recovers a little too quickly and when he's alone he's rarely thinking about Saet Byul, and always about Yeon Joo. I thought Kang Ji Wook "puppy" would come to make Dae Hyun jealous, but again he seemed totally unaffected. I don't hate Yeon Joo, although i don't like her very much. About the claim that they are just fighting because of Saet Byul, it's a cop-out to not recognize her mistakes, how she constantly looks down on Dae Hyun, and even though she's jealous of Saet Byul, to me it looks like the whole issue is that deep down she knows how much she neglect Dae Hyun's feelings but does not have the courage to do something about it. While Dae Hyun and Saet Byul's relationship (not romantic - yet) is open and carefree and they are able to act like themselves around each other, Dae Hyun is always walking on eggshells around Yeon Joo. Again, i don't hate Yeon Joo, I undestand her lifestyle and expectations, but she's been stringing Dae Hyun along for two years when it seems like their relationship is never gonna go up the next step, while Dae Hyun tries to make his intentions clear.Dae Hyun is such a pure and warmhearted character, I absolutely love Ji Chang Wook, but I think his character is still underdeveloped and maybe trying to much on the funny side. When he's around Yeon Joo he's a pushover and i don't know how he survived those two years with her when their personalities are so much different. He tries to do everything he can for her and she does absolutely nothing for him. I loved his scenes of little outburts of frustation in "Suspicious Partner" and I'm seeing a lot of it in the show, so perhaps is a bit a much, but I can't help but smile and replay those cute moments of his. Saet Byul is such a strong character, while still mantains a childish and naive side that shows her age (22 is basically a teenager still). Considering Dae Hyun is also a little childish, i totally ship this couple. I love it when they're together and it shows the playfulness and the feeling of protectiveness towards each other. The fact is that Saet Byul's been fantasizing about Dae Hyun for three years now, and he is in so deep with Yeon Joo, i'm curious about how the show is going to deal with that transition. I don't have formed opinions on her relationship with her sister yet, besides the fact that i perhaps she reflects her regrets over not finishing school on Eun Byul, but i want to see more of them.Anyway, what i wanted to pass on is that i haven't seen a scene yet where I think "Dae Hyun is starting to feel romantic feelings towards Saet Byul". Maaaaaaybe in the last scene, but for me it was more like the fact that he knows and worries that financially she needs the job, the fact that they are friends and a bit of guilt because it was a issue he was already battling with. I mean, I even felt something missing from the way he didn't seem all that preoccupied over her health issues, like in a scale from 1 to 10 I would say he was a six, seven at most. What I want to see at the end of the show is a relationship between Dae Hyun and Saet Byul where he can take her to a hole in the wall greasy bar and she's honestly happy about it and they feel completly satisfied and free to be with each other. I've been creating scenes in my head and I was thinking about when he talked with Yeon Joo about buying a house and she was like "why are u telling me this??" and how if it was Saet Byul in her place she would react completly differente and it would be the cutest scene. I loved the scene between Saet Byul and Dae Hyun's mother, it really shows the needing child inside Saet Byul. (sorry for any erros and typos since english is not my first language)
