Hardly a Stockholm syndrome, but it might as well pass as one.
This review is so personal that you might even think I’m hired to promote this drama.First of all, this made my heart clench painfully both for it’s tragic reason and a joyful one, and any drama that can make my heart hurt is a good drama. this one, mannn.. I can’t find a word to describe what it made me feel, I’d even be extra and say that some scenes made me stopped breathing. It hurts so beautifully, I won’t mind experiencing it again.
Second, fitting ost and bg music. It speaks so much for a scene that sometimes it simply don’t need words or lines from the characters. It was just music and the scene. I’ll surely be adding 2 or 3 osts to my playlist.
Third, when I say good drama, it’s great and worth watching but not perfect. Yes, of course there were a few setbacks and I had to skip some part because it was somehow a bit forced and it became frustrating, some scenes were predictable and even when it wasn’t, it didn’t make sense. It felt like the conflict was too forced for the characters to have their second chances.
But Nian Qin made it all up.
If there’s a word that means dashingly charismatic + cute + heart wrenchingly kissable face, I’d put nian Qin as the definition to that word. Of course, this is just a personal opinion, I sickly has this soft spot for obsessive possessive characters and this one easily falls on the top 5. He gave me such a cold first impression that I totally didn’t see his clingy development coming. Looking back though, there was already hints of his abandonment issues but as the drama didn’t exactly give a very clear picture, I threw it out.
Surely if you like a possessive, obsessive, jealous male characters, this will be more than your cup of tea.

Dramatically realistic.
This drama has all the components of every typical office drama; the mean boss, the mean rival, office rival and of course the dirty office tricks used against the main leads. But somehow even when it sounded cliche, the story line does make you roll eyes. Both Dylan and QL did a great job bringing out their character but the chemistry was a bit lacking. Don’t expect to see a lot of knight in shining armor scenes or even kiss scenes, there won’t be a lot of it. But if you’re in it for the strong independent woman vibes, then go ahead, start episode 1.
I think this drama is made for those who enjoy realistic kind of story, you’d definitely come out with another little outlook in life after watching this as the lines are so inspirational. Really teaches you the importance of good communication. There were barely any annoying misunderstandings, proving a drama can actually go without those.
I’d usually skip a lot when it comes to work or office scenes, but this time, I barely did and it was quiet satisfying when the main leads actually overcomes the dirty old tricks from the rival.

It’ll leave you a hot mess...
First of all, I’d say that JCW and KJW gave an amazing performance.Yes, JCW chem with PMY and JKW chem with PSJ are unchallengeable but this, THIS, 😭
I’ve finished this like 2 months ago, but only recently decided to write a review because I really can’t forget the feels this drama gave me.
I’d really say MDL rate doesn’t give it justice, but ofc, it wouldn’t be an underrated drama otherwise.
The storyline gives you so many relatable plots and makes you wish you can actually do what the characters does in the drama. But this is coming from a city girl, so I don’t think it’s going to apply for everyone. BUT. JCW’s performance specially as a clingy I-can’t-forget-her guy really makes you have someone like him too. Personally JCW always gives you that hot-passionate boyfriend feels no matter if he’s a bodyguard, a producer or a *cough* healer *cough* but this time, THIS TIME, he reached a new level. 😭😭😭
And yes, at this point, I don’t have much to say about KJW only that her character is a total wreck and may or may not reflect the norm city girl problems (I’m saying her character is a wreck, not her)
Let’s just say this drama has been on my number 1 recom list for a while now, specially if anyone is looking for a passionate romance, yes this is the one,

Light fluffy romance you’re looking for.
As I’ve watched the Korean version which contained heavier deeper content, this one came as a light hearted afternoon tea. I had expected more from the storyline, they skipped/summarized many important scenes and instead gave a lot of pointless fillers. Although, I’m not really complaining as the fluffy content on this one will really satisfy ones who’re looking for it.As with the romantic scenes, there’s not much to say, it’s a bit more than your average kissing scenes but less bed scenes (if you get me). For the second lead male, I have a feeling they were trying to give him the second lead syndrome but unfortunately there was not enough power to it. I’m not sure if it was the character development or the inconsistent personality but at first they showed that he was trying to keep the girl and for some reason he plays this matchmaking for the both leads. Maybe there was no problem with it but there was no smooth transition a.k.a. He just somehow made up his mind the next episode.
The best thing about this drama was the ost. Not because it’s in English, but it gives you the feeels in the scenes. They played it perfectly in sync with the leads. I had saved it on my playlist.
Anyways, everyone has the right to their own opinions and expectations aside, this drama is worth procrastinating your assignment. Enjoy :)

A lot of romance and action.
As a longtime kdrama fan, we don’t really get to see JSW a lot, if anything this was my first time seeing him in a drama. As for PSH, what kdrama fan doesn’t know her. Tbh, I wasn’t expecting a lot from this series since it’s exploring a new setting because usually when you hear kdrama and time-travel, it’s usually a seguek-modern settings. As I was new to JSW, I was able to completely absorb his character without other influences like his previous character(which apparently, after researches, he usually plays charismatic and suit-and-tie type of characters), the caster did well with him. As for PSH, Since I’ve watched most if not, all of her main lead dramas, I kind of expected how she would bring out her character, but I should say she had improved on her kissing scenes! XDXD If you’ve also watch her previous works, she’s always been known to be a kissing statue, even partnered with the kissing guru LMH(if your what I mean), but this time, I’m not sure if it’s all thanks to JSW, but she really gave life to her character, not only in those scenes but even during moments with her dad, somehow and most of the time PSH had always given me these idol vibes(where it’s way more important to look pretty and reserved than to act for the sake of the character- just my observation tho)..
As for the storyline, I’m personally the type to really like easy to understand plots and as this is a science time-travel, expect some very deep physics going on, but really, I really commend how it was told rather than on the storyline itself, because I think if you’re a fan of quantum theories, there would be a lot of holes and you’d complain, but if not, I think this drama gives you the balance between drama and science. You know, just enough for you to get your mind going. Plot twist is of course a given, but I’d be giving out tmi if I say more.
Although, maybe being used to big screen quality of post-apocalyptic CGIs this drama might give you a few head shakes, but nothing you can’t ignore. But if you arent really used to post-apocalyptic CGIs, then maybe you won’t even notice.
Overall, it was a great ride. Sth I’d recommend for its genre. It has a great balance of romance-science-action going on. Plus of course the dark family background of the villain, it’s a kdrama factor so I won’t comment anything on it.
Enjoy :)
