Had me lovestruck watching this!
I have to be honest. I would have never watched this K-drama. The cover and the title didn't pique my interest, but I ended up watching this due to my boredom and desire to explore. Well, you've probably heard the saying, "Never judge a book by its cover". That's how I feel about this K-drama, to me, it's a hidden gem, and I hope more people will fall in love with it just as much as I did.The story is unique, it has multiple love stories, but they are all connected to some extent. It delves into many aspects of love, including the ability to love oneself and others. To be honest, I don't think I've ever sobbed so much over a drama before. Love is truly complicated.
The acting was great. I might sound weird saying this, but I feel like some actors carry a vulnerable, sad vibe, and they happen to be amazing at acting out those feelings. They selected such a talented group of people, in my opinion, to portray emotions that some people could find difficult to express or comprehend.
The music was.. different, I can't put it in other words. It had many unique songs, and they were played at the right time, which captured the moment perfectly. It made the scenes feel real, as if I wasn't just a watcher but there with them. It made me connect with the feelings they felt. Which is fascinating!
Have you ever watched a K-drama that was boring? In my opinion, Lovestruck in the City was the opposite of boring, it was entertaining. I never got bored watching this. Oftentimes, K-dramas include long, pointless scenes. You've probably come across scenes like.. the main lead staring into the ocean for 5 minutes with no lines and no emotion, which is pointless! But this one had me captivated, I was so interested in how the story would progress.
What stuck with me the most was the light-a-candle scene, it's my favorite. Where the best friend Rin-yi gave comforting words and encouragement to Eun Oh. It melted my heart. And it made me realize that we all need a friend like her in our lives.
It would've been a 10 for me if the last two episodes were different. I feel like they (Rin-yi and Kyung Joon) shouldn't have broken up, and we didn't need a new relationship involved. I hoped that they would focus on the main couples. It was a bit out of character, I was taken back during the last episode, where we suddenly got a new couple, and that mainly brought down my enjoyment.
I usually don't write reviews because I'm not a master of literature and I don't have the sort of fluency a writer does. But I felt like writing a review. You know... I only write reviews of K-dramas if they impact me a lot. They have carved out a space in my heart, and I want to express my feelings about it to everyone who reads this. Even though I might not be great at it, I hope that someone finds this useful. If someone is reading the reviews and is unsure if they will like this, I suggest you try watching the starter episodes. If you don't like it, you can immediately switch it off. And if you end up liking it, then that would be amazing! :)

What I enjoyed and disagreed with about this Korean drama. Should you watch it? That's up to you!
Some might agree, and some might disagree with what I'm about to say. But it is my opinion. This drama had an amazing start. I loved the suspense and characters. The last episodes weren't as good as I expected. Why is it that in most K-dramas, when the "villains" get caught, they commit suicide? Why is it that drug users are seen with their hair platinum just as they are about to be caught? I feel like some of the authors just use it to cut it short and focus on the main characters, but I would like to see the process of the "villains" being thrown in a jail cell or anything. I understand that maybe that's not what most audiences are into.
I was a bit disappointed and thought it was unnecessary when Joon Kyung got into the car accident. Wouldn't you have checked the traffic lights or if the truck had a problem, like maybe the brakes didn't work, and if so, wouldn't you attempt to swerve to the right or to the left so that you wouldn't crash? I wonder what happened to the truck driver—did he die?
The mom started getting on my nerves in some episodes; it felt like she was the one obsessed with money*1 and was blaming Jeong Sun (Ari's friend) for b*llsh*t.
I could feel that it did have that based on the real-life theme, etc., etc. And if you like that, then maybe you should watch it.
I loved the soundtracks; they were sweet and nice to my ears.
Would I watch it again? Probably not. It was great, but for me, it's meant to be a one-time watch.
It is my first time sharing an opinion about a drama. And I understand that I don't know anything about cars. I definitely didn't expect to write a review, so I didn't write down the moments I was confused or disappointed by something. And because of that, I'm trying to remember everything and blast it into this review. Haha, sorry!?
*1 Well, there's nothing wrong with being obsessed with money; after all, they were rich in the past, and it's hard to start living differently, but the way she was talking, it was as if she was the biggest moneymaker there. We all know the most money was Ari's.

What's there to love? To hate?
The first episode was a little weird, but it also felt nice when the FL gave them a lesson. It didn't take me long to get addicted! The second episode's misogyny was bizarre. When she requested more, only one woman was called in! The sound effects were good and added to the humor. It reminded me of the old-school romance K-dramas.
I read a comment that someone made and I couldn't agree more, I felt like the last 2 episodes were rushed. We didn't need a scandal near the end!
I really seemed to love the two main leads, because of how head-strong they were. But when they opened up, they were also nice and sweet!
What could've been better?
I really hated the sad reality that was shown after one scandal, most didn't want to be seen around that person without knowing the full details. Hate the negative news; there are or will be some people in your life who thrive on negativity, and I got the impression that those were the guys. It seemed like we didn't know much about the background of the second male lead; we only learned later who exactly the woman was who had suggested getting married if he would still be single in his 40s. Honestly, I hated the boss of that firm, because of favoritism when FL was announced to be dating the VIP client he started acting so kind towards her but when things didn't go as planned, he bashed FL.
Why not 9.5 or 10? Because I believe there were K-dramas released in 2023 that were better than this one, but it doesn't mean this one wasn't amazing. I felt that K-dramas normally only show 1 kiss scene, 1 date, then marriage and kids(optional), but this one showed more chemistry between them which I enjoyed very much! It was great, something I haven't seen in a while!
Should you watch it? Up to you!
