Dramas i watched in 2020

might be my fav Kdrama of the year short but PHENOMENAL blown me away with the acting, the plot twists so good can we get a season 2? 

I will change this to 10/10 if we do get season 2 soon everything was basically perfect Zhang Ruo Yun is my favorite chinese actor since Novoland Castle in the Sky and Dr. Qin I knew he was great, and i'm glad this is the drama and character that he deserves its PHENOMENAL

HILARIOUS, SO SMART, FUN and very fast paced filled with twists and turns love it

I didn't want to watch this at first because it was so long but I binged the 70 eps in a week? and it was a PHENOMENAL ride, I loved the schemes and how intelligent Yilou is, love the side characters and how the first empress was so kind, the pacing is AMAZING for a 70 ep drama I didn't skip a scene it was so good and everyone in it did great at acting the ost (ending song) was on repeat for weeks i had to rush to find the title and download it, always brings back the feels

It is SO WORTH THE HYPE and time spent watching beautiful story and happy ending

SO GREAT the story line, I love the cast of teens I think their story was the most heartwarming and touching one I keep saying the ost is 10/10 and it really is the best I've heard this year

I cried from ep 1-16 I haven't cried so hard for a while but it was just so touching, a drama about family and motherly love and seo woo was too cute (the child is actually played by a little boy with a wif) he did a great job, the sismance had me crying even more. Beautiful drama about life, death and family

Everything about this drama was perfection, the ost, characters it's SO SO GOOD 

The best part was seeing cameos of the original cast, the story was cute but the female lead was too childish, the acting was meh and so was the story overall i thought this was a cheap attempt to make money of fans of the story of yanxi palace but for nostalgia's sake and since it was only 6 eps it's not the worse thing out there

SO CUTE and Fun but could have been 24 eps instead of 40, the pacing is so watered down nothing happens in a lot of the episodes but the acting was great and i loved the friendship and bickering so i still watched til the end. it's not perfect but still a light fun drama to watch 

SLOW oh so SLOW

LOVED them in Eternal Love (one of my fav cdramas of all time) but something about this one was just okay, filled with cutesy scenes but I was mad Fengjiu was still the cute weak side character and had to rely on Donghua 99.9% of the time to save her, the side stories was dragged out for too long too, overall it was okay but I found myself skipping CHUNKS of the "story"

the villain/evil threat to the show was lacking so I didn't care about any of the plot either

Never watched a drama about a poly relationship but this one was gradual full of suspense and action, I really loved it and thought it was SO unique

I was so addicted to this drama I binged it in 2-3 days and some cases fall flat, but I think what I loved so much is the slow burn romance and chemistry between Nie Yuan and since I finished Yanxi Palace a week before starting the listernor I am heavily biased about Nie Yuan lol 

Good Mystery/crime drama overall had lots of fun

the ending could have been better but that's my personal preference, I loved the first 10 eps and then it kind of got confusing, messy and I ended up not caring too much for the revelations at the end but Yoo Seung Ho was just so great in this role hope he takes more mystery,thriller drama roles in the future i prefer her serious than in rom/coms

OH NO this one hooked you with the first 14 eps and then it was a train wreck horrible decisions made by the writers Zhao Lusi and Yecheng's chemistry is great the romance was the only reason why i stayed but the plot was so dumb and she was stubborn and stupid.

I'm so mad this could have been great it had everything the actors the script and post production editing was trash unbearable I watched on 2x speed and ended up skimming despite that and the side characters should have a bigger role especially the actor playing ermeng he was the most interesting and one of the better actors. Better luck next time i guess

iconic cast, great acting, intense plot, fast paced, I love it

THE Hong Kong Drama I needed watched it randomly bc of the funny name Stayed because it's what Hotel Del Luna wanted to be but couldn't be for me WOW the romance is on another level of chemistry I cried and laughed it's SO GOOD made me fall in love with HK dramas again worth the watch and even re watching

SLOW but STELLAR PERFORMANCES i tried i really did watch up to ep 13 but i lost interest 

Maybe i'll go back to it when i'm in the mood for corruption dramas it's okay at best

Enjoyed all the moments loved the cameos especially Kim Soo Hyun's North Korean character had me laughing so hard, the SQUAD is goals, yoon se ri is hilarious as a character she's crazy rich too and I enjoyed the side couple too, HYUN BIN is KING for a reason and I loved SYJ since her old movies, I knew she would be good even before this all her drama/movies are NEXT LEVEL, 2 PROs, a GREAT story with action romance, heart and friendship it's PERFECT

I really enjoyed the entire drama it was SO ACTION PACKED! Did not expect how CRAZY it would be, it was so fun and thrilling the only disappointment is Park shin hye's character she can act but she always plays THE SAME ROLES (crying and crushing on a guy) I wish she had a more interesting role in this drama, also loads of twists and deaths I didn't expect which is nice the entire game aspect was pretty cool 

Started off really strong so many cute scenes steamy kisses XKC is a heart throb! Love the relationship lots of plot holes though sometimes i feel like the writers are insulting our intelligence lol so i can't give this any higher than 6.5? Enjoyment level is really high but really shitty melodramatic points that made me scream WHY? But i heard season 2 made up for it also had the biggest crush on the best friend character wish the actor gets more leading roles he's great

After a LONG drama slump I finally got back into it, thanks to stumbling across this Netflix show it was SO GOOD i would say up to ep 11/12 it was a 8 for me but THAT ENDING EP WAS PERFECTION it deserves a 9 only 22 mins an episode and 12 in total but i was SHOOK by how spectacular the acting and complex characters are so interesting I loved it til the end was unpredictable what a great binge 

Jdramas are THE BEST at NON-ROMANCE plots it's SO GOOD 

Reminds me of some of my favorite dramas ever Ashes of Love, perfect amount of plot and fun characters, adventures and interesting world building and missions. I LOVE THE MAIN COUPLE SO MUCH, the female lead is adorable here reminds me of why i fell for Zhao Li Ying's characters she's so cute and sweet <3 The CHEMISTRY IS WOW and the pacing is good so far, I already feel that drama depression state i'll be in when this is done airing. IT'S SO ADDICTIVE side characters are fun as well

XUAN JI AND SI FENG's LOVE STORY THOUGH wow especially impressed with the actor playing Si Feng the way he can act cold yet so sweet and caring at the same time, the ost is 10/10 i'm halfway through and so far it's 9.5 out of 10

watched 9 eps had to drop love the cast gorgeous production but i can't connect with the lovestory like when did the characters fall in love? The plot is confusing and poorly executed it could have been great and I really tried but I couldn't get into it anymore and tried to force it but nah WOO DO HWAN IS the MVP 

Started off great got boring after ep 15 there was no plot really for the entire drama and then they tried to bring in all these random storylines to fill the episodes i watched on 2x speed to finish skipped the 5th prince's story ended up getting kind of annoyed with the main couple and stayed for the 2nd couple which 

SPOILER didn't get a happily ever after I'm so disappointed

It's so far so good 12/30 right now waiting on eng subs and binging this drama I have the biggest crush on the Second lead though

I ended up dropping it, it went downhill after ep 15 

this is really good but i kind of stopped watching it halfway not because it was bad but because i had too many other dramas to watch and now I don't want to go back to it soo... but i'm guessing not much changes i never really go back and finish a drama this was good i have no complaints a bit slow but naturally paced? I liked the story but not enough to go back for it but still it deserves at least 7.5 from all the cringy shit i tried to watch this year this felt of higher quality

ep 17: the story is meh, but the main couple is so cute

I am biased to Liang Jie, but still didn't finish, it's the same generic plot, not much to say a solid 6.5/10 but probably won't contine

Cute, addictive. I love the 2nd couple. This is filled with tropes, the first half is good, 2nd half is stupid. Fu Rong annoys me to no end. Kiki Xu Jia Qi is STUNNING,  til the end I thought Wu Bai Qi and Fu Xuan's relationship was better, I started skimming through the main couple's scenes. 

the pacing is so good after ep 4 i fell in love, Ding Yu Xi is where the magic is at, THE WAY HE LOOKS AT HER (So convincing that he's in love) and the comedy is GOLD. The side characters are the funniest and most dramatic people

Aside from The Eternal Love 2 I've NEVER SEEN A DRAMA WITH MORE KISS SCENES wow after ep 10, there's kissing every 10 minutes in this show but it feels natural, I'm so impressed with Caesar and Tang Min, both are relatively new actors, but they pull off cheesy and typical unoriginal cliches SO WELL, the acting is what makes a huge difference, and the pacing is spectacular. Aside from tiger and rose this is the best drama with the arranged marriage trope I've seen this year (and there's been a lot)

the subs are so slow I binged first 10 ep, will continue after subs are done 

Shawn Dou is insanely attractive, his smile is so bright and beautiful, and I love the romance for the main couple, the 2nd sister I disliked from the beginning, and I am a huge fan of Charmaine, but I am kind of getting sick of it at ep 12 lol

21 eps in, I will try to finish this one, but I kind of skip around to when the 3 main leads are in the picture, it started off so great but is getting draggy, and the evil people in this drama is too one dimensional and predictable. Sometimes the ML actor seems awkward and too stiff, but I think this is one of his only main roles ever so I'm hoping he will get better in the future

FINAL THOUGHTS:I hated almost every second of the last 5 episodes, this drama is SO DISAPPOINTING. Probably the biggest disappointment of 2020 (drama-wise)

WE WAITED 32 EPS TO SEE THEM GET TOGETHER, and the plot was SO PREDICTABLE, the writers made the characters do so many dumb things that I literally ended up hating everyone in the drama lol, I forced myself to finish it for the sake of finishing.

 3/10 since I only like the first quarter of the drama, the rest was terrible sprinkled with some tolerable cute scenes but not enough, what a waste of good acting leads 

OMG I FINALLY DID IT, after years of trying and failing to get past the first 3 eps, I managed to binge the whole thing in 4 days after watching the end dub version. Of course I know the dub sounds weird and all compared to the subs, but it's the only way I can manage to remember all the names, side characters, and plotlines which is essential for political dramas because they all come together later. Hu Ge, Wang Kai were the main reasons I kept watching, especially the brilliant Mei Chang Su's character. I was so sad that Wang Kai barely shows up, until the later half. Fei Liu, Commander Guard Meng, Lin Chen ( Leader of Langya Hall) were my favorite side characters, I wish they had more screentime. For a 54 ep drama, it had pacing issues.

It could have been a phenomenal 40 episode drama with perfect pacing, but it is what it is. Music-wise THAT INTRO SONG WOW, it really made me emotionally attached to it and ep 44's War scene with that music surging in the back was perfect. I thought the romance plot was SO WEAK and unnecessary.  Overall I think it's a solid 8 or 8.5 at most. Not the 10/10 I expected but I'm not disappointed, except maybe the ending was a bit rushed/vague? 

Binged the first 30 eps in 2 weeks with family, paused and finished the other 12 eps in 2 days after 2 months, it's a solid drama. I wish the romance was less of a super slow burn, but at least the chemistry is there. This drama happened way before they started dating, but still, it's good.  The ending could have been better, it was rushed, I wish we had an epilogue. 

Been waiting for this to come out since the trailers dropped, absolutely love Darren Wang and Li Qin, the chemistry is great since Darren is known for acting in romances. Ji Chong's character played by Xiao Zhan is so hard not to love, he's so confident, smart and funny. The show got boring after he left  around ep 18 or something xD  

Update: I dropped at ep 23 but I might skim around and try to finish it later

I love the team leader of the police squad so much, he's my favorite. He steals the show in my opinion, and Li Yi Feng is adorable here, I need to back track and watch his other works

Eps 27-33 were really slow, but it starts to pick up again at ep 38.  I love the Gu family, they are all really kind and caring people. For a espionage drama, there's not too many spy missions, but I'm here for the dialogues and sweet family moments. The romance is slow-burn and not too distracting from the plot which is great!

I love the OST, the cast, and all the pairings, but after ep 20 it gets a bit repetitive with the push-pull bullshit. My favorite couple and character ends up being the girl I started of hating, Man Qing. Now she's my favorite, she's a great actress, the crying scenes are heartbreaking!

This is so bingeable! I binge it case by case which is usually 4-5 eps long, which is perfect! All the cases are quite unique. The standout case for me is the creepy doll and children's case.  I'm here for the bromance.

The first 3 cases were the best it went downhill after the main characters date, the romance is annoying here, BUT THE ENDING was SO INTERESTING,  I might tune in if there is a s2

Re-watched this in 4 days, it is perfection

THIS WAS AMAZING. Every episode had me laughing so hard. Props to Vincent and Owen. I loved the bromance, and the romance my fav couple was Ko Bun's relationship, also the side kick bodyguard guy is great. The ending was INCREDIBLE, I was over the moon. This drama is very relationship heavy, even though I wish there were more action scenes in the middle, the dialogue was so interesting I don't mind it. Probably the best HK drama of 2020?

Waste of time. What a shame, since the plot sounds good, but went downhill after Bosco stopped being the bodyguard for Linda. I appreciate the mental health representation, but they could have done so much more with such a good cast.

On ep 10 started it with my sister, it's still really good but clearly dated. The background music and poor editing really shows, but story-wise it's still so addictive. 

Aside from 1 minor thing which was from the first ep, I LOVED THIS DRAMA SO MUCH. It brings back the nostalgia for older amazing Jdrama ROM-COMS and SATH TAKERU IS SO HOT, and the last 3 episodes were perfection. I finished this in one day no regrets, abandoned work and my eyes are dry. Now I feel empty inside, even the music was great. I love the side characters, and all the patients' scenes I cried so much, and also fangirled so hard.

half way in and so far this is a solid 8-8.5 for me, we'll have to see til the ending. The first half made me have the biggest SLS, and I love the trope of re-writing your character, and how they make fun of rom-com drama tropes. Similar to Extraordinary You but with more romance, better kiss scenes and funnier moments

Really good cast but it feels too short, I couldn't connect with any of the characters yet this would have been great it if it was 2-4 eps longer, plus I wanted to see more of Yang Yang, and Tiffany Tang

Overall I think this is unique and in a way it does live up to expectations, I went in for a good time with mystery and adventure, that is what I got, it isn't the best drama but definitely not bad either

It's one of those series that is a quick and easy binge, so even if it won't be high on my watch list, I'l stick check out the rest of the series

It's cute and addictive though. 

Watched the first 10 eps in 2 days, it has some fun and interesting moments with Wang Yi Bo and ZLY's characters. I like their back and forward bickering. Pacing is quite slow but I prefer a steady pace than starting off great and then disappointing me the rest of the drama.

On Hold for now will finish in 2021

PERFECTION 15 characters in 10 eps? I was so emotionally invested. Cannot wait til 2022 for season 2. They will be filming mid 2021

rewatched this is Viet Dub with family, it's so funny that it made my aunt spit out her water while watching xD I might bump up the rating after finishing.
