  • Mãe aos 14

    1. Mãe aos 14

    Japanese Drama - 2006, 11 episodes

    8.0

The story of a Japanese teenager that has to adapt herself toa new reality she never thought of so yearly in her life, the challenge of becoming a young mother, more precisely, at the age of 14.

She faces prejudice and though times when decides to keep the baby even if that means leaving behind her family, friends and the rather comfortable life she met until then.

The drama shows slice-of-life characteristic, mixing it with a drama approach as one may expect from the theme it carries. The story development is good as well as the acting, Miura Haruma did let me down yet again with his performance here, but what else new? The soundtrack is not really memorable, the camera work and directing is very standard-like to that time and type of drama, however it does fit the drama nicely and plays the story well.

I might need to watch it again to have a better saying on the matter, but still 14-sai no Haha is my favorite drama of all times.
