Green Flag Couples
Here are some attributes that I consider to be priority for Green Flag couples:
- Both partners can safely be themselves and don't feel the need to hide parts of their personality
- Their relationship allows for disagreement and even argument but without the relationship being put at risk
- Neither party attempts to restrict or control friendship or family circles
- Viewers can't track the relationship by listening to Katy Perry's "Hot N Cold" song

1. Entre Nós
Thai Drama - 2022, 12 episodes
Win and Team are now the shining example of what a green flag couple should be. To me, it's not a red flag if your relationship starts by consensually sleeping together (which theirs does). What matters is what happens after that point, how you interact, how you support each other and how you grow together but also as individuals. Win and Team have that down and their confession scene is the most powerful I've yet to see in any form of entertainment, ever. It shows how much Team has come to understand about Win's character, about how much he sacrifices to take care of other people, and how little Team has done to reciprocate up until that point. It's such a powerful scene and Boun and Prem gave 110% to their acting.

2. Você é Meu Pet
Japanese Drama - 2017, 16 episodes
Stay with me because I know a lot of viewers may not agree.
In this version of the story, Takeshi and Sumire come across as a green flag couple. Each one of them is able to show a side of themselves to the other that they are not comfortable showing anyone else. There is a level of trust and bonding and safety that is so crucial. I'm not saying that they're perfect because they're not. Takeshi has some freaky moments, but I also believe he suffers from depression so that manifests itself sometimes.
But they are truly the best person for one another because of the support each of them shows. Takeshi reaches green couple level first, but Sumire makes it there too once she figures out what she wants, meaning someone she can be herself with. Imagine how exhausting that would be, being with someone you were literally never comfortable with!
In the end, they are better together than they ever were apart. And when you can see that, then that's the sign of a healthy green flag couple, at least for me.

3. Buzzer Beat
Japanese Drama - 2009, 11 episodes
Buzzer Beat is interesting in that we have 2 red flag couples until a member of each of those couples breaks off and joins together into the green flag couple. Red flag couples make me anxious so until that happens, I spend a lot of time frustrated, but knowing that the green flag couple is coming and that they are amazing keeps me coming back to this drama as an all-time favorite.
