Yim Si Wan will reportedly join hands with Lee Jung Jae and Lee Byung Hun in the upcoming second season of Squid Game.
On June 15, media outlets shared that Yim Si Wan will be joining Squid Game Season 2. He will be one of the main leads of the upcoming Netflix original K-drama.
Netflix and Yim Si Wan's agency Plum A&C both responded to the casting reports. They also both stated that they cannot confirm the casting news at this time.
If Yim Si Wan decided to join the global hit K-drama, this will be his first time to join a Netflix original series.
Meanwhile, Yim Si Wan is set to return to the K-drama scene this year with The Hidden Dragon. He will be working alongside Lee Sun Bin in the upcoming thriller mystery K-drama.
Aside from K-dramas, Yim Si Wan will also lead the upcoming movie Boston 1947 together with Ha Jung Woo, Bae Sung Woo, Kim Sang Ho, Park Hyo Joo, and Lee Seung Joon.
Squid Game Season 2 will continue the story of Seong Gi Hun and his life after winning the 45.6 billion won prize money.
The first season was led by Lee Jung Jae, Park Hae Soo, Jung Ho Yeon, Wi Ha Joon, Oh Young Soo, Anupam Tripathi, and more.
For the upcoming new season, reports stated that aside from Lee Jung Jae, Lee Byung Hun, and Gong Yoo, who were cameos in the first season will also lead the K-drama.
Back in 2021, Squid Game became a global phenomenon and it also achieved several awards from local and international award-giving bodies.
Many are already anticipating the new season of the Netflix original series and how they will continue the story.
Squid Game Season 2 will also be directed by Hwang Dong Hyuk.
