Jang Hyuk and Yoo Joon Sang will reportedly lead a new KBS historical K-drama
Idol actress Jo Yu Ri will reportedly star in a new K-drama after Squid Game Season 2.
On January 7, media outlets reported that Jo Yu Ri will star in the upcoming K-drama Variety. This could be Jo Yu Ri's next K-drama project after Squid Game.
Jo Yu Ri's agency WAKEONE responded to the casting reports and stated, "Jo Yu Ri received the offer to join Variety. We are still discussing her casting and nothing has been confirmed yet."
Director Kim Yong Hoon's next work is the upcoming thriller K-drama Variety. The director is known for creating the hit K-drama Mask Girl, which was led by Lee Han Byeol, Go Hyun Jung, After School's Nana, Ahn Jae Hong, Yeom Hye Ran, and Shin Ye Seo. He also created the films Beasts Clawing at Straws, Yoon Hee, and the upcoming movie Hip Daddy.
According to reports, Variety will provide insights into the happenings within the idol industry.
There is no confirmation yet on the release date of the thriller K-drama Variety.
Jo Yu Ri made a strong impression as one of the new characters in the recently released Netflix original K-drama Squid Game Season 2. She starred as Kim Jun Hui, a young pregnant woman who participated in the game.
She started as a member of the project girl group IZ*ONE from the Mnet audition program Produce 48. She started her acting career in 2022 web K-drama Mimicus with B.A.P's Yoo Young Jae, Kim Yoon Woo, Nana, Oh Jae Woong, and Woo Ji Han.
Jo Yu Ri will also return to Squid Game Season 3 which will also premiere this year. She will work alongside Lee Jung Jae, Lee Byung Hun, Kang Ha Neul, Wi Ha Joon, ZE: A's Yim Si Wan, and more.
