"She's From Another Planet" Wins Platinum Remi Award at the 56th Houston International Film Festival
The romantic comedy film She's From Another Planet (directed by Goo Sang Bum) has clinched the Platinum Remi Award in the romantic comedy category at the 56th Houston International Film Festival (held from April 25 to April 30).
The Houston International Film Festival is one of the oldest and most renowned film festivals in North America, along with the San Francisco International Film Festival and the New York Film Festival.
A total of 4,672 films from 74 countries around the world were submitted to the 56th Houston International Film Festival, which held competitions in 10 categories, awarding Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze, and other awards in each category. She's From Another Planet became the first Korean film to receive the Platinum Award, in the feature film category of romantic comedy. In addition, lead actor Baek Seo Bin was also nominated for the Best Actor Award.
Director Goo Sang Bum expressed his gratitude saying, "I am delighted and honored to receive an award at the Houston International Film Festival, one of the three major film festivals in North America. I want to share my profound gratitude and joy with all the actors, staff, producers, and everyone who helped us during these difficult times, including the COVID-19 pandemic." She's From Another Planet is a unique romantic comedy that tells the story of Na Eun (Shin Yeon Seo), who believes she is a cosmic entity, and Seok Min (Baek Seo Bin), a job-seeking student. The film features distinctive characters and has an inviting ambiance that draws a new sense of hope.
