When the Stars Gossip follows Eve Kim (Gong Hyo Jin), a top astronaut and perfectionist who does not tolerate even a single mistake, and Gong Ryong (Lee Min Ho), who goes to the space station with a secret mission.
As South Korea's first-ever space office drama, it is already being touted as one of tvN's most anticipated productions for the first half of 2025. Set in a space station located 200,000 kilometers away from Earth, the K-drama raises curiosity about the astronauts' story.
While Gong Ryong (Lee Min Ho), Eve Kim (Gong Hyo Jin), and Kang Gang Su (Oh Jung Se), among others, overlook duties in space, Park Dong Ah (Kim Joo Heon), Kang Tae Hee (Lee El), Lee Donna (Lee Cho Hee), Han Si Won (Lee Hyun Kyun), and Ma Eun Su (Park Ye Young) form a team on Earth that communicates with the astronauts and supports their mission in space.
Park Dong Ah (Kim Joo Heon) is a veteran astronaut who has been to the space station three times. He is about to transfer to a private aerospace company and is known for his simple, straightforward personality.
Kang Tae Hee (Lee El) is a world-famous female astronaut. She is the first Korean-American woman to become the deputy director of the IOU (International Institute of Space United) Space Center and is a highly capable and committed chief.
As a principled leader with an unyielding determination, she commands her team in accordance with established rules. Her leadership as Chief Kang Tae Hee is a key highlight of the K-drama.
Donna Lee (Lee Cho Hee) is a space doctor at the Ground Control Center. Donna is the twin sister of plant scientist Lee Min Ah (Lee Cho Hee), and unlike her younger sister, Donna honestly expresses herself.
Living exactly the same life as her sister in space, Donna struggles with stress unknown to others. Viewers are curious to see if she will eventually find a way to relieve the strain.
Han Si Won (Lee Hyun Kyun) is the Flight Operations Director at the Ground Control Center. Responsible for operation technologies like orbit tracking for the space station, Han Si Won is the brightest at the Ground Control Center, and a key person in bridging communication between astronauts in space and the control team on Earth.
Ma Eun Su (Park Ye Young) is the youngest member of the Ground Control Center. Ma Eun Su teams up with Eve Kim and Lee Seung Jun (Heo Nam Jun) as their experiment partner, supporting their research on mouse experiments conducted aboard the space station. Deeply dedicated to her work — to the point that she rarely goes home — Ma Eun Su raises curiosity about whether she, alongside Eve Kim and Lee Seung Jun, will discover new possibilities through their research.
When the Stars Gossip will premiere on January 4, 2025. The K-drama will be available to stream on Netflix.
