Kim Nam Gil and Kim Young Kwang are confirmed to join forces in the upcoming action thriller K-drama Trigger.
On October 25, Netflix officially confirmed the production of the upcoming K-drama Trigger. They also confirmed that the series will be led by brilliant actors Kim Nam Gil and Kim Young Kwang.
Trigger will depict the story of two men trying to control the situation after illegal firearms are suddenly readily available in South Korea, a gun-free country. Different gun-related crimes suddenly emerged after it happened.
The upcoming K-drama will be helmed by director Kwon Oh Seung, the same director who created the movie Midnight led by Jin Ki Joo, Wi Ha Joon, Park Hoon, Kil Hae Yeon, Kim Hye Yoon, and Jung Won Chang.
There is no official confirmation yet on the release date of the upcoming K-drama Trigger. The series will exclusively air on Netflix.
Kim Nam Gil will portray the role of Lee Do. He is a former soldier who served as a sniper. Currently, he works as a police officer who searches for the source of illegal firearms at the center of a series of gun incidents.
This will be the second Netflix original K-drama of Kim Nam Gil. This year, the actor led the series Song of the Bandits with Girls Generation's Seo Hyun, Yoo Jae Myung, Lee Hyun Wook, Lee Ho Jung, and Lee Jae Kyoon.
Kim Nam Gil will also star in the upcoming K-dramas Execution and The Fiery Priest Season 2.
Meanwhile, Kim Young Kwang will play the role of Moon Baek in Trigger. He will be the key figure in the gun broker world.
Kim Young Kwang is currently starring in the mystery thriller K-drama Evilive with Shin Ha Kyun, Shin Jae Ha, Bae Na Ra, Park Sang Won, and Choi Yoo Ha.
The actor will also lead the K-drama version of Mission 2: Possible with Lee Sun Bin.
