Tang Jun Sang joins Jung Kyung Ho and Seol In Ah's new MBC K-drama!
Kang Hoon's second upcoming K-drama project will reportedly be with the director of Dear Hyeri.
On January 8, media outlets reported that Kang Hoon would work with director Jung Ji Hyun in a new K-drama. The series is titled Asura Balbalta (working title), and it will be a youth coming-of-age comedy.
Kang Hoon's agency npio Entertainment responded to the casting news. According to the company, "Kang Hoon did receive the offer to star in another K-drama by director Jung Ji Hyun. The actor is positively reviewing the K-drama."
Asura Balbalta will tell the story of three aspiring comedians struggling to achieve their dreams, and a woman whose life has fallen apart. These four will work together and face the challenges and struggles in life while chasing their dreams.
Kang Hoon got the offer to portray the role of Kang Tae Gu. There was a time when he was considered a super rookie in the comedy field. He is the team leader of Asura and he will showcase his passion for comedy while also facing the harsh realities of life.
Asura Balbalta will be the next K-drama project of director Jung Ji Hyun. He is known for creating the series Dear Hyeri, Lies Hidden in My Garden, Twenty-Five Twenty-One, and more.
The upcoming K-drama will reportedly begin filming in the first half of 2025.
If Kang Hoon confirms his casting, this will be his third time to work with director Jung Ji Hyun. Last year, the two collaborated through the ENA K-drama Dear Hyeri. They worked with other casts Shin Hye Sun, Lee Jin Wook, Jo Hye Joo, Kang Sang Jun, and Jeon Bae Soo. Kang Hoon also made a special cameo appearance in director Jung Ji Hyun's 2022 K-drama, Twenty-Five Twenty-One.
Kang Hoon will also star in the upcoming K-drama Dark Legacy with Park Ju Hyun, Park Yong Woo, Choi Kwang Je, Ryu Seung Soo, and Bin Chan Uk.
