The teaser poster and trailer for the film Uprising, starring actors Kang Dong Won and Park Jeong Min, have been released.

Uprising is set in the chaotic era of the Japanese invasions of Korea. It tells the story of Jong Ryeo (Park Jeong Min), the son of Joseon's most powerful military family, and his servant Cheon Young (Kang Dong Won), who, after growing up together during the chaotic times of the Japanese invasions of Korea, meet again as enemies.

The teaser poster captures the intense moment when Cheon Yeong and Jong Ryeo face each other, each holding a sword. Although they once shared a friendship that transcended their social status, they now meet again as enemies in a time of chaos.

The trailer opens with scenes from Cheon Yeong and Jong Ryeo's childhood, where despite their status — Cheon Yeong being Jong Ryeo's servant and Jong Ryeo the only son of the most reputed military family — they share a close friendship.

In one scene, as they spar in martial arts and tie a red cloth around each other's hands as a token of their friendship, Jong Ryeo says, "So a man can befriend his dog, but not his slave?"

Cheon Yeong, determined to break free from slavery and go back to being a commoner, devotes himself to Jong Ryeo's household. However, when those who promised Cheon Yeong freedom betray him, the bond between him and Jong Ryeo suffers a crack.

As the Imjin War breaks out, Joseon further descends into chaos. No longer friends, Cheon Yeong and Jong Ryeo now stand as enemies — Cheon Yeong joins the Righteous Army (commoners who took up arms to fight against the invaders), and Jong Ryeo becomes King Seon Jo's military officer.

Jong Ryeo's chilling line, "A dog that bites its master must be put to death," hints their relationship can never be the same as before.

Cheon Yeong, now known as the "Blue-Robed God," strikes fear into the hearts of the Japanese invaders with his exceptional swordsmanship, while Jong Ryeo, consumed by rage towards him, fiercely charges into the conflict. The mounting tension between them sets the stage for breathtaking action scenes.

Uprising is coming to Netflix on October 11. Watch the teaser here
