Ji Chang Wook and Ryu Seung Ryong will reportedly join hands to star in the upcoming new K-drama by Big Bet's director and Misaeng: Incomplete Life's writer.
On July 28th, media outlets reported that Ji Chang Wook and Ryu Seung Ryong are the main leads of the upcoming K-drama Pine (literal translation).
Ji Chang Wook's agency Spring Company shared their side regarding the reports. According to them, "It is now of the works offered to the actor and he is currently reviewing the offer."
Same with Ryu Seung Ryong, a representative from Prain TPC also revealed that the casting is currently in review.
Pine will base its story on the webtoon of the same name created by Yoon Tae Ho, the same author of Misaeng: Incomplete Life. The work is based on a true story that caused a stir before. It will reveal the happenings when a trade carrying a large number of artifacts was found off of Jeollanam province in 1975.
Ji Chang Wook and Ryu Seung Ryong got the offer to play the role of Hee Dong and Gwan Seok. The two will showcase their nephew and uncle's chemistry and their teamwork in embarking on a treasure hunt to find the artifacts.
Pine will be the collaboration work of director Kang Yoon Sung and writer Yoon Tae Ho.
There is no official confirmation yet on which OTT platform it will be broadcasted as well as the release date of the upcoming K-drama Pine.
If Ji Chang Wook confirms his casting, this will be his fourth upcoming K-drama. The actor is also set to lead the upcoming K-dramas Queen Woo, Welcome to Samdalri, and The Worst of Evil. He will also join the upcoming movie Revolver together with Jeon Do Yeon and Im Ji Yeon.
Meanwhile, this will possibly be the third upcoming K-drama of Ryu Seung Ryong. The actor is set to lead the soon-to-air Disney+ K-drama Moving with Han Hyo Joo and Zo In Sung. He will also join the upcoming series Chicken Nugget with Ahn Jae Hong, Kim Nam Hee, and Kim Yoo Jung.
Ryu Seung Ryong will also lead the upcoming films Jung Family's Farm, Portrait of a Family, and Amazon Bow Master.
