"Hospital Playlist" in Talks for a Prequel!

Hospital Playlist will possibly have a prequel and the original 99z will not be part of it. 

On June 1, media outlets reported that Hospital Playlist will have another season and this time, it will tell the story of the five friends when they were in their 20s and still not yet doctors. 

It was also reported that Jo Jung Suk, Yoo Yeon Seok, Jung Kyung Ho, Kim Dae Myung, and Jeon Mi Do will not be the main leads of the prequel and the production is currently looking for the casts of the upcoming prequel. Director Shin Won Ho will be the creator of the K-drama and another director will fully handle the prequel of Hospital Playlist. 

tvN then responded to the circulating news. Through a phone call with media outlet E-Daily, tvN explained, "It is true that director Shin Won Ho will be a creator for a new drama but it is not for a prequel or a spin-off of Hospital Playlist. It is still in the early stages of production."

Hospital Playlist received a lot of love from local to international viewers. Many wished for the K-drama to have a third season and with the news of a prequel, people already expressed their excitement. 

The last season of Hospital Playlist 2 premiered in 2021 and it recorded the highest average rating of 14.1%. 

Aside from Hospital Playlist, director Shin Won Ho is known for creating the hit K-dramas Prison Playbook, Reply 1988, Reply 1994, and Reply 1997. 

Netizens have been wanting a new season of Hospital Playlist as well as a new installment of the Reply series. This upcoming project of director Shin Won Ho will possibly be anticipated again by the viewers because they trust that the director will produce another quality work.
