'When the Phone Rings' takes Netflix by storm, scores new personal-best ratings
The upcoming tvN space drama When the Stars Gossip has released a teaser featuring Eve Kim (Gong Hyo Jin), and Gong Ryong (Lee Min Ho).
When the Stars Gossip follows Eve Kim (Gong Hyo Jin), a top astronaut and perfectionist who does not tolerate even a single mistake, and Gong Ryong (Lee Min Ho), who goes to the space station with a secret mission.
The teaser begins with a view of a space station orbiting the Earth. Within the vast, infinite expanse of space where everything is weightless in a zero-gravity environment, astronauts go about their daily routines with ease. In contrast, Gong Ryong, a space tourist going beyond Earth for the first time, struggles to adapt, floating around aimlessly, hinting at his challenging journey of adjustment to life in space.
Commander Eve Kim, who initially carries Gong Ryong around like an inconvenient load, complains, "Do I have to play babysitter for a tourist?" However, despite her complaints, she looks after him, fulfilling her duties as a commander.
Her remark, "In emergencies, the commander is the first to die," conveys the immense responsibility and danger that come with her role on the space station.
In particular, Eve Kim's statement, "There is no rule more important than protecting and creating life," conveys the sense of duty carried by space scientists living in space. Gong Ryong, an obstetrician-gynecologist, has a similar principle on the value of life, having devoted himself to saving lives on Earth.
Moreover, the closing moments of the teaser, where Eve Kim says, "We came here to live together. You trust me, right?" highlight her dependability and authority as the commander of the space station.
The teaser concludes with Gong Ryong reassuring someone saying, "It's okay, I'm your doctor," and Eve Kim confidently declaring, "And I'm your commander."
