The tvN drama True Beauty is adapted from a webtoon with the same name, the story follows high school girl Lim Ju Gyeong, who rises to pretty girl fame after she masters the art of make-up from YouTube. She turns into a goddess because of her makeup skills, but would rather die than reveal her bare face to anyone.
It tells her love story with the only boy that saw her without makeup, Lee Su Ho. Lee is an attractive and handsome boy who appears cold because of his dark past but is actually very caring. They grow when they meet each other, sharing their secrets and finding love with each other. Adding on to this is the wild Han Seo Jeon who is related to Su Ho's past and likes Ju Gyeong, too. Join these three on this adventure where they unravel secrets, share pain, and seek comfort from each other.

Personal Opinion
As I am a big fan of the original webtoon, I was extremely happy when I heard that the webtoon will be adapted into a drama. Sincerely, it's the first time that I've seen an adapted drama that I've already read its webtoon. I have watched a lot of adapted dramas but I haven't read the original webtoons.
I really liked the beginning of the 6 first episodes, especially the humor touch that this drama has. ^^ |  |
The first episode starts with a heartbreaking scene I think, it shows us how the poor girl Lim Ju Gyeong is bullied by her own family because she is not pretty like the whole family is.
In this scene her grandfather said "Maybe she is adopted" and then the whole family started laughing out loud.
If her own family bullied Ju Gyeong, then how would the society, classmates, and people around her act?
 | Lee Jae Wook and Kim Hye Yoon gave a special appearance in episode 4, that I really found remarkable. ^^ The two actors were previously confirmed to appear in the drama in a support role. But no one knew that the two were going to play the role of their characters in Extraordinary You: Eun Dan Oh and Baek Kyung!
They were enjoying a date at the cinema as a lovely couple. However, Lee Su Ho spots the couple, and his eyes widen as his face shadows with concern and shock. Eventually, Lee Su Ho approaches Baek Kyung, who looks puzzled by whatever he says.
I personally love this kind of drama because it shows us the reality that we are living in. Nowadays, if you are not beautiful, if you do not fit others' beauty standards, you will not succeed. You will obviously suffer from bullying and discrimination from society and even from your family (like the case of Lim Ju Gyeong) which may lead a person to suicide!
We should learn from those dramas that a simple word can destroy a person! Saint Exupery said "He who differs from me far from harming me enriches me. The moron differs less from the common man than the latter differs from the man of genius. What is deferred is not lost." Difference is a source of enrichment, not a source of weakness.
