Let's check out 5 reasons you should consider watching the incredibly moving and heartfelt drama Oh My Geum Bi. This drama tells the story of a conman (Oh Ji Ho) who finds himself caring for the daughter (Heo Jung Eun) he didn’t know he had, but she has a rare disease known as childhood Alzheimer’s. He then meets a lonely woman (Park Jin Hee) who helps him care for his daughter. 

Although the subject matter may sound very sad, there is so much more to this drama than just a sick little girl. This is an amazing and inspiring drama, so here are some of the reasons you should check it out:

1. Geum Bi

Geum Bi is played by the absolutely amazing child actress Heo Jung Eun. Not only is she super adorable, she is unbelievably talented. She took on this weighty role and completely nailed it. Geum Bi is a sassy girl who is strong, smart, and witty. But Heo Jung Eun will completely draw you in with her expressive eyes and her ability to convey emotions so well. She just shines in Oh My Geum Bi.

2. The Healing Relationship of a Father and Daughter 

At it’s core, Oh My Geum Bi depicts the relationship between a father and a daughter. It’s not an easy relationship by far. They bicker like crazy, but they also genuinely love each other. The two go on such a moving journey of healing together, and I was completely drawn into this relationship. 

The drama perfectly built up the conflicts and issues between the two and then delivered completely moving and beautiful moments where the characters experienced growth.  Watching a conman and a lonely child learn to become father and daughter was so moving.

3. The Meaning of Family

Not only do Geum Bi and her dad become a family, but a lonely woman named Kang Hee also finds a place with them. Hwi Chul and Kang Hee grow close through their connection to Geum Bi and eventually become a family in the midst of very difficult circumstances. 

At times they are drawn together through Geum Bi's illness, but at other times, things become too difficult, and they become angry and lash out at each other. It's a difficult journey, but it's one they embark on together as a family.

4. Funny & Heartwarming Moments 

The drama is full of humor between Geum Bi and her dad. Their bickering and playful insults were a lot of fun. And these moments frequently turn into very heartwarming scenes as they bond and grow to love each other.

5. Inspiration to Live Life to the Fullest 

Geum Bi brought many smiles to my face, but then her harrowing journey through illness broke my heart. But even in the midst of sadness, there was always hope. This story was told so beautifully, and it inspires you to live your life to the fullest while showing love to those around you.

These are just some of the many reasons I loved this drama.
