Top 7 Kdrama OSTs of 2016 (so far)

We all know that drama OSTs are huge aspect of any drama. They set the mood in each scene. Before the scene even starts, you know whether the scene will be romantic or sad or silly. As a result, OSTs are an absolute, vital part of the dramas we watch. I feel like every drama has that one song that really sticks with you throughout the duration of the show. These are some of the songs that have really stuck with me so far in 2016.

7) Our Time - Vanilla Acoustic (Cheese in the Trap)

Cheese in the Trap's soundtrack was filled with a lot of unique and sweet songs that really fit with the palette of the drama. Our Time stuck out to me because of the soft vocals and beat that made it an easy - and calming - song to listen to.

6) Swing Magic - Roo (Madame Antoine)

Many people had mixed reactions to this drama and I admit I was one of them. However, I absolutely loved (and still love) the OST. Swing Time is upbeat, funky, and fun! It really started the drama off on a good note (whether it remained that way is debatable). It definitely gives the feel of something magical.

5) Alive - VIXX (Moorim School)

I'm gonna be honest with you guys... I couldn't finish this drama and I ended up dropping it about halfway through. Despite that, this song is SO GOOD. I might be biased as a VIXX fan, but wow I love everything about it. The vocals, the beat, everything is on point. I would start hardcore jamming any time it came on in the drama.

4) Found - Coffee Boy (Beautiful Gong Shim)

This is one of those OSTs that really makes you feel the emotion of the scene. The chorus just strikes a chord with me. The music crew of this drama did a great job with deciding what scenes to add this song to.

3) Tell Me - Soyou [Sistar] (Lucky Romance)

I fall more and more in love with this track every time it shows up in a scene. Soyou's soft vocals are really expressive and inviting. It fits the type of character Bo Nui is as well as the innocence of the romance between between Soo Ho and her. My heart starts to flutter whenever this song starts playing.

2) Like A Dream - Ben (Another Miss Oh)

This song - this song - THIS SONG! I am so attached to this song and every time the chorus starts, I automatically start belting the lyrics. The vocals are amazing and the emotion in the song fits with the drama so well. The instrumentals of the song are also wonderful. Overall, it has all the aspects of one of those kdrama OSTs that people sing and recognize, even years after the drama ends. I love it so much.

1) Always - t Yoonmirae (Descendants of the Sun)

I don't think anyone will be surprised to see something related to DoTS as number 1 on this list. The very first time I heard this song, I knew I had to download it. It stuck as my favorite track from the OST throughout the entirety of the drama. I'm not exaggerating when I say there was a point where I listened to it about 5 times a day. I just love absolutely everything about it.

As you can see, I am partial to ballads and romantic tracks and 2016 has been a wonderful year for those type of OSTs.
