What a pathetic drama

I seriously don't understand the point of such drama, where you show such a naive FL who is too dumb to realise how she is being constantly used by everyone specially the 2ML. A lot of the reviews are specially targetting the ML not understanding how he was brought up without a father and a very strict mother. But long story short, when the ML and FL didn't get married the FL would constantly defend the ML infront of the 2ML but soon after they got married she just casually leaves him everytime he needs her and go to the 2ml knowing fully well his feelings for her. That's fine given how he helped her in the 1st place even though he had his own motive. But come on when he 1st tried to force himself on you what actions did you take. On the contrary you went to him even after that refused to resing knowing how much he hated your husband. I have a very serious problem with people like these, you chose to marry someone now that you married him or her it's your obligation and responsibility to stand by him/her and not go to great lengths to help someone who is not on a good terms with ur spouse even if the person had helped you. That is what family means. For a man his wife and for a wife her husband should always come 1st. Then the last and the biggest nonsense was how could the ML and FL forgave the 2ML when they knew he sexually assaulted her. It's not clear weather he raped her or not or only just took photos, but how can any same woman in her right mind would forgive such a pathetic man is beyond my reasoning abilities. I watched till 26 or 27th epsiode but then I realised the FL is too dumb to understand anything or else she doesn't care abt her husband's feelings. I just got to know from the reviews what happened after that as I could not dare to watch the final episodes.

I've just finished and I'm livid! Urgh I'm so mad!

To start off with, despite the terrible dubbing and over the top acting, I was really into this story. I liked the plot line. The leads had good chemistry, albeit a slightly toxic relationship, and the progression of the story was good. That all changed in the latter 3rd of the drama. His half brother turns into a cartoonish villain and my new least favorite drama character. Buckle up folks, you're in for a rant!

So, the story starts out with FL's child going to the hospital after an accident. The over the top acting was wow, soap operaesque. Then there's the awkward revelation of the child's paternity. Seriously, why was it so awkward? She literally grabs this calm AF man and says you have to save our son because there's this over arching plot of them having a rare blood type (We'll come back to it). He's like wtf lady I don't even know you? Then after learning about the child's paternity ML sues the FL for full custody and wins, while basically calling her a gold digging tramp at every turn. You later find out that after the night they conceived their child, he told her to never speak of their relations that night and never speak to him again and paid her to leave. What right do you have to be angry? She went along with your wishes after you treated her like a prostitute and tossed her out like yesterday's garbage. She kept your child a secret from you because you told her to go away! Yeah, maybe she should've told you in the end but she had no idea how you would react.

So, FL, after losing custody of her child, in her depressed state starts hanging out with her lawyer, male lead's half brother (You don't find this out until much later but I thought it was obvious from the beginning). This man is the world's most awful person who is using her to get back at his brother. ML is in a relationship with an actress and she basically sucks. She broke up with his half brother for him, hence the wanting revenge. ML is a man who said he'd never marry you or have babies with you, why d you want that, you might be scheming and suck but you still deserve love, honestly you'd probably not be scheming or suck if you just actually went out there and found someone who reciprocated your feelings. ML is a real charmer. Anyway ML is jealous of FL's relationship with his brother and starts to realize maybe he has feelings for her. He begins to let her visit her child on occasion and gives up partial custody to her when he realizes how she's not the bad person he initially thought she was and it's also hurting his son that his mom, the woman he's spent every day with and who has raised him since he was born, isn't around. So, male lead, after treating FL like utter garbage, wants to get back together but not before dumping his scheming gf who basically tries to trap him in marriage and even after they break up they still are pretending to be in a relationship. She's really not a problem anymore though, in the grand scheme of things.

ML pursues FL but she (lies and) says she fell out of love with him when he stole her child away from her and was an utter douche canoe, honestly. Snaps for female lead although the delivery could've been more convincing. Then blah blah blah weeks pass, younger brother is fully in love with FL. I like how she never leads him on though and actively pushes him away, only saying I like you as a friend and wouldn't want to lose my best friend when he asks for more. So ML is continuing his pursuit of FL and one thing leads to another the relationship builds a bit before they smash one night at her house and they move in together with their son. IDK, although I liked it I felt like the ML's personality changes a bit too quickly after that night. Unless she has some magical vagina I just don't see it. His mom hates her, treats her horribly. and thinks she's a gold digging whore. Brother is being a prick and is always upset she chose his older brother, the father of her child who she's always been in love with. Stop acting like a toddler you're a grown a** adult! Then ML and FL get married but don't tell anyone, resulting in cuteness and sexy times.

FL tries to help his bio dad, who abandoned him, get the sons to stop fighting and hopefully find his way back into his son's life (ML). This man literally had nothing to do with you for 30 years, if it were me I'd write him off and never see him again, screw him! Honestly, there is such a heart breaking scene of his dad and his brother ignoring him and driving away from him when he was like 8 and came to their house to show his dad his good grades. I couldn't forgive him. (I've never forgiven Alex Rodriguez for promising to come back after showering and sign my 4 year old brother's baseball at a game, when he was in the minor leagues and never doing so, My brother is 33 now and doesn't even remember) Dad also needs a liver transplant and has that special blood type which ML also has (See, I told you we'd come back to it!). Anyway after some more clownery or maybe you'd class it as heartfelt discussion and apologies, he gives his dad a lobe of his liver and forgives him for 30 years of pain and heartbreak after a single conversation. No, sorry, doesn't track for me.

Here is where this show goes off the rails and made me dislike the latter part of the drama. Brother, being the toddler who can't stand that he lost to his brother (Who BTW is much more unfortunate in the grand scheme of things than you) drugs FL and sexually assaults her. Oh and bonus, he also has it photographed. She wakes up in his apartment (fully clothed btw) in a daze not realizing she was possibly raped the night before (BTW they don't make it clear I think we're supposed to think she was just sexually assaulted which honestly not that much better) like wtf???? Anyway the pictures of the "affair" are shown to the ML and he kicks her out. Good riddance girl, you deserve better! But her bans her from seeing her child which is an awful thing to do, although I guess I can understand him doing so, he's hurt but that being said it's not your kid's fault. That makes brother start to feel a tinge of remorse and then he feels a lot more remorse when the FL finds out she's pregnant with ML's child again and has been abandoned all over again! History repeating itself. This still doesn't make the abuser come clean even though she repeatedly begs him to. That man would never rest if it were me I would ruin his life and be there at every turn telling him to come clean, I'd stalk him, he'd never rest, he'd do it to end the incessant torture! Not that at this point I'd want the ML back but I'd deserve to see my child and I'd deserve a clean name! She starts to neglect herself and gets really depressed after ML denies he's the baby's father. Dude, uncool, you know that kid is yours. She and brother get into a car together and while struggling over the wheel because she's hysterical and driving erratically they crash. She's injured and brother is in critical condition and comatose. ML tells her he'll take the fall, they try him for murder which like what, his brother is still alive! Who did he murder exactly? Brother runs into court at the last minute and saves ML from going to jail says it was an accident and that he was also at fault. Wow, thanks for finally doing the right thing months too late!

Then brother comes clean about the pictures and says he drugged the FL and made it look like they were together and he's sorry and ML just forgives him. That man assaulted your pregnant wife! Kill him or do something! This is not a hug it out scenario, that man belongs in jail or he at least should be handed a restraining order because he's clearly obsessed with your wife and has tried to rape her twice before! Anyway female lead has already run away. No one can find her. There are so many moments in this drama where people are lost or run away and they'll spend most of the episode searching for them. It's honestly a problem, go home, read a book, watch a movie, or a better drama than this, stop running away!

Long story short ML finds female lead who, even though it's been like 3 weeks in my estimation, is super preggo! She doesn't want to take him back (Snaps for female lead) but ends up taking him back in the end (Slaps for female lead) because he falls down after chasing her it was very strange and I don't get it. I mean I know she still has feelings for the guy but I think her forgiving him could've been for a different reason. She then forgives the man that sexually assaulted her, a man who she considered her best friend, someone she just wanted to have a better relationship with his brother. He betrayed her trust and took advantage of her. This man assaulted you when you were pregnant with his brother's child. He tried to ruin your life and made you go through your pregnancy alone because he wouldn't admit he did anything wrong. This man belongs in jail but not before you kick him in the cajones, he's obsessed with you get a restraining order, and never speak to him again, he's dead to you. No, she just forgives him. I'm so mad! HOW COULD YOU FORGIVE HIM???????? I'd kill him, but that's just me personally, you do you boo, except don't because you suck and you have no backbone and it's infuriating at this point. Then she has a difficult pregnancy and delivery and you think they are not going to put me through all of this torture only for things to basically be set right (except for judicially) only for her to die in the end! But she's fine and they have a daughter and all is well and good except WHY IS THAT MAN NOT IN PRISON? Why is he around you at all? Why are you taking family photos with him? He's evil! People forgive and forget in this drama way too easily! When I feel there are drama characters I don't like I imagine them in front of a big truck, barreling down the road, about to mow them down, Brother from this series has taken the lead in the queue, he will be casualty number 1 followed by the slimy half brother from Jao Sao Jum Yorm, the creepy chan sister from Guilty, and Secretary Kim's brother in law. They all didn't get adequately punished for their wrong doings and were forgiven too easily. Does this make me a sociopath? I don't mean the actors, they're probably fine people. I mean the fictional characters they play.

So yeah, I only gave it as many stars as I did because the first 30 or so episodes are alright but it was ruined for me. Dear writers how dare you, whoever dubbed this deserves to be put in the stocks, and tone down the acting folks we get it you're sad. stop wallowing in hysterical sorrow on the floor, calm down it'll be ok.

Loving, Never Forgetting is a very good drama that will stir all kinds of emotions from the viewer. The drama is not perfect, but it is a very good watch. The leading male characters are quite imperfect and wounded human beings and the lead female can be exhaustingly naïve, but they are the reason that the plot keeps viewers watching. This drama brings about how the decisions and grudges of past generations can exert painful memories and feelings in their offspring that can bring disastrous consequences for all people involved. In this drama there are many obstacles and major character growth before the characters can finally find peace within themselves to be able to move on into a happy ending. The leading couple has good chemistry but the leading lady causes a lot of misunderstanding while trying to bring the family together and she became a victim to her own naivety and simple-mindedness. Still, the drama is a good watch if not for some extreme leniency toward the wrong doers. Overall, a nice drama, enjoy it!

Don't waste your time

Please don't watch this drama ughh I hate it, I just wasted my time... the ML is a jerk but at least he had character development, but the FL? don't even bother about her ughh ... I hate that she keeps crying every time there's a problem, she's like a kid throwing tantrums in the first episode till last ughh pissed me off. Like when TongTong got lost, she keeps crying and harassing Zhongmou, and I understand her worries are valid since at first she was fighting him for child custody, but she should at least try to be calm and assess the situation before making a scene🙄 don't give me with the "oh she's such a caring mother", I haven't even seen her take her of her son much for 34 episodes and she left him most of the time to her friend, ML servants and ML grandmother. Her priority is basically 40% boy toy (2nd ml), 30% boy toy's company, 15% ML, 15% Son🙃🙃 Despite Zhongmou setting her up, I actually think the court's decision is right, she should not get the custody but only have visitation rights. Wu Tong is not in her right mind, she needs to see a psychiatrist and get counselling... Also, I hate that she still keep on hanging out with 2nd ML (forgot his name) despite being already married to ML, ughh I hate to be that kind of person but serves her right for being set up as a cheater (not for being SAed). She's a married woman yet she's not even worried she slept at a guy's house, which her husband hate the 2ndmost in the world, while her husband is in the hospital because she begged him to donate his liver to his irresponsible father that abandoned and didn't care for him💀💀 ughh I really hate drama tropes where FL believes she has the right to everything and that she can change someone. As someone who's also raised by a single mom, I would hate it when people get on my arse and force me to meet and help my father when I knew how irresponsible he was... Wu Tong might be Zhongmou's wife, but I hate that she keeps on pressing ML to help his father knowing how he treated the ML. Like if it was me, I don't care you can go ahead and die, I know I won't feel sorry at all like I don't even care to begin with, you're just a sperm donor why bother🤷‍♀️ Also, that time when they were choosing a new name for Tongtong, I hate how she left her family for that stupid drunk 2ndML ughhh she could have just called that short-haired rich girl to get that jerk's ass. If she was really a good woman, wife, and mother, she should have prioritize her family over someone her husband dislike and someone she has no romantic feelings to.. ugh what a bitch🤢 I don't understand people who like her at all. I don't think she's a capable woman either, others might consider her smart since she got an internship at a famous company but other than that she's dumb af. She didn't even get the managerial position due to her abilities but just because the 2nd ml likes her and she's always in need of help😬 ughh I'm only ranting about her because she's the one I hate the most in this drama but I actually hate all of the characters except for Tongtong, since he's a kid and he's adorable.

The story is 1 for me because I hate the plot, many scenes and characters.

6 for acting, because I really hate them all, tho I think many scenes were exaggerated...

Music is 5. I remember liking them a bit but they were forgettable...

Rewatch is of course 1 because I hate this drama and it was a torture to finish watching it. I only forced myseld to do so because I want to see the ending and I hate skipping over things🙃🙃

I don’t remember the last time I cried this much over make-belief, fairy-tale characters and story-telling. Over the years of drama watching, there were many, many moments where my heart fluttered, my voice cracked and the tears threatened but rarely over and over, and over again.

And yet, Loving, Never Forgetting managed to do just that.

A story of a one-night stand that changed the lives of the Li and Xiang families.

A tale of custody fights, gripping parent-child relationships, sibling rivalry and power struggles. The pacing is excellent. Show offers a nice blend of introspective moments between mothers and sons. Similarly, underneath the surface, we see simmering bondings between the fathers and the sons, foreign and yet familiar — quiet, scary but endearing.

Jerry Yan is superb playing the aloof and tough businessman Zhong Mou but his skillful acting makes me empathizes with him despite the cold facade he puts up in the custody battle, yanking his son away from the only mother he knows and loves. The tenderness he shows towards Tong Tong in the moment of need is pure magic.

Even though Zhong Mou grew up without experiencing maternal or paternal warmth, he is innately capable of seeking deep within himself to shower love for a son that is suddenly thrust into his otherwise lonely life. Sworn never to fall in love and marry, his impenetrable wall of bachelorhood gets melted brick by brick by the generous, loving, and open-minded Wu Tong. Initially skeptical of her motives, he keeps her at arm’s length but finds himself increasingly drawn to the woman whom, despite not remembering their moment of intimacy, bore him a son.

Tong Liya is perfect in the role of Wu Tong. She’s strong-willed but in a feminine way. Her maternal instincts are powerful: protective, unselfish but realistic. Some viewers feel she’s feeble which is somewhat true given that she's naive to a fault but her flaws are understandable and do not detract from the overall story arc. She makes me feel her pain and I cried alongside her when she has to part with Tong Tong, struggling to balance her own needs against what’s best for Tong Tong.

As a family melodrama with its angelic female character, Wu Tong is someone that believes in the good of everyone and naively thinks she has the power to effect change. Despite being told time and time again, that 30 years of hate and bitterness just doesn’t go away overnight, she continues to march on inside her own cocoon thinking somehow she can be the catalyst that will propel family unity.

The chemistry between Zhong Mou and Wu Tong is off the charts earth shattering. I don’t know how many times I re-watched the scene where Zhong Mou broach the elusive subject that he is falling for her. This OTP is undeniably a match made in heaven.

Tong Tong is adorable and just perfect for this role, maybe too perfect (said some) but then again, I didn’t mind that at all. His delightful interactions with Wu Tong and Zhong Mou warm my heart and put a smile on my face.

As for the supporting casts, I must say this is one of those few rare times when I’m hard pressed to complain about any character. Each has his/her own honest story to tell. Kudos goes to Personal Assistant, sidekick extraordinaire, Lin Jian Dong whose loyalty and affable demeanor gives the show light-hearted moments. His dorky affection for Liang Yue Qi is subtle, like a tree-lined vista, providing much needed shades to its oblivious passersby. The most villainous of the characters, Xiang Jun, sent shivers down my spine for a few episodes, making me feel the hate for him brewing but the hate slowly withers away as the show winds down towards redemption. There isn’t a moment where I felt like fast forwarding. Instead show kept me up late and made me waste away whole weekends drooling for what’s next.

If I had one complaint, it would be the ending episodes which felt like scene fillers. I could easily do without these last few “dramas” — my heart did not pound as much as it did in the beginning as Zhong Mou overcomes one crisis after another. The ending could have been wrapped up a few episodes earlier.

Loved the OST especially the one by Jerry Yan.

A heartfelt melodrama that touches two generations and the bad blood that binds the Li and Xiang families, and ultimately a woman who wants to unite them all. One that moved my soul. A must-watch.

I love this Drama,

I've known Jerry yan during my Highschool years back in 2001 with his tv series meteor garden, and since then I was been fascinated with his charm. well and just recently finding a good drama to watch I remember him and check out what's new with my idolized actor and find this drama series that makes me moved by it. I like the way he portrays his role as being a playboy bachelor, doesn't know how to trust women, and even he doesn't show that he loved the woman but her expression find it obvious. He has a perfect match with the heroine, the innocent and caring woman who captivates him and changes him into an ideal husband. and i really like the little boy so witty and cute.

Jerry yan I like to watch more of this type of drama from you,

Great romantic drama, good director and great actors!

A bit "dramaland" and melodic, but as the story is played by excellent actors, it goes well.

- With Jerry Yan ❤❤ and a Great cast,
- Great plot (cold CEO who finds 6 years later, a son he had after a "one shot"). Fight for child, then marriage but love▲/fam rivalries. & eco. /cancer /pregnancy problem...

Nothing new in this story. Like in a lot of dramas, they are many obstacles, coincidences, twists. Events which would happen in 100 lives, happen to the characters in a few years...
But the story is well done, played with accuracy and skill.
We laugh, we cry, we suffer, with FL, sometimes with ML.

The OSTs are well adapted and I wonder if the credits song is sung by Jerry Yan.

=> Great romantic drama, good director and great actors.
Don't miss it !!

loved it!

Jerry Van is the best. no one could have done this role better. I wish there was a higher rating.
In my opinion, the FL was a two timer, regardless that the writers tried to make her out as naive.
Even though it could have been less episodes, I still give it 20/10.
I will now watch all of Jerry's dramas and movies. totally fell in love with him, his smile, his acting, his walk everything.
I do hope he got an award for this drama.
The story is not new or fresh, but the way it was acted out, is what make it great.
whoever has doubts, just watch it and make your own decision. you will not regret watching it.

First I want to say I have no idea why this series has such a low rating. I read the reviews listed on this site and I was almost convinced not to watch it, however I decided to give it a shot just to see how good or bad it really was. I saw some good ratings and some bad so it was misleading for me. I am glad to say that I finished the series and I found it to be quite pleasing.
I love the male lead. He was a real jerk at times. He was firm, smart as well as a little guarded which explains why he was mistrusting of others. I enjoyed the female lead role however some of her actions were a little bit naïve to me and became a little frustrating. Those points didn’t make it awful. The storyline itself was really good and the acting was amazing as well. To summarize the series is about love, family, heartbreak, abandonment, revenge, mistrust, trust, bonding, growth, sacrifice and so much more. There are no extreme or over the top acting or scenes. Someone mentioned rape in another review, that did not take place in this series so don’t be put off by the reference. The character development for the male lead was so evident and amazing. You’ll love this if you’re into romantic dramas,

What will drive you nuts is the female lead being gullible and her decision making skills. That alone dropped it a star for me.

Melhor do que imaginei.
