Meiko ponders about Yutaro, but tries to regain her spirit by continuing to make a bento. Iku hears from Yutaro's friend, Kondo, that he refused the marriage proposal because of the complexity of his family and she tells Meiko. However, Meiko pretends to be indifferent about it. Muroi appears at the all girls' school and tells Meiko that Yutaro's condition is not good. In order to visit Muroi's house with rice, Meiko decides to make porridge and leave it by the side of Yutaro who is sleeping.
