A beautiful fun series

I really enjoyed the series, it has a lot of real aspects and situations. I speak as a gay father as well. This is a truly beautiful series, made me cry a lot. The enjoyed the chemistry and the cast was fun and amazing interaction. My only downer to the series is episode 5 with the parents. I like the father as he is real, but the mother I can not stand. She is self centered and controlling and needs to stop bothering her son, who in turn acts like a kid when he is around her. He needs to grow up and tell her he is happy gay man with a beautiful boyfriend and a good father. The character of Jerry really annoyed me about being over child dramatic when it comes to mom. He needs to stand his ground and be a father and boyfriend. Besides episode 5 being annoying, the series was amazing funny and touching. I love season 2 the best, as I was not a big fan of the actor playing Jerry. Damian is an amazing character and the actor is talented with emotion. Love that they speak English at times mixing it up.

My first time watching BL series with a child. What an eye opening to us member of LGBT+ to show us and fight for the love we deserve. And to hold on to someone we trully love despite of society's judgement to us! I was very happy to live in this Era and to see this Masterpiece! Surely 10 out of 10! Everything was perfect! I was kinda sad that SS1 Jerry was recasted. But Surely, SS2 was actually a masterpiece as well! How would I describe this Taiwanese series in one word? CUTE. Cute in practically everything (except maybe the sound). I gave the story a higher rating because it deals with a hot and modern topic, the acting was almost perfect in relation to the assessment of the life together of two men, the processing was subtle, decent so that the series could be acceptable to most viewers, but on the other hand " "tenderness" between the two men, between whom there is a real age difference of 15 years, was completely believable, natural, not two wax figures pushed together for a "pussy". Taiwan simply continues to prove that it belongs to the very top in the production of films and series with LGBT themes, and not only in Asia.


Jak bych charakterizoval tento taiwanský seriál jedním slovem? ROZTOMILÝ. Roztomilý prakticky ve všem (snad kromě zvuku). Příběhu jsem zvýšil hodnocení i za to, že se týká ožehavého a novodobého tématu, herectví bylo téměř dokonalé ve vztahu k posouzení společného žití dvou mužů, zpracování bylo jemné, decentní tak, aby seriál mohl být přijatelný pro většinu diváků, na druhé straně ale "něžnosti" mezi oběma muži, mezi nimiž je skutečný věkový rozdíl 15 let, byly naprosto uvěřitelné, přirozené, žádní dva voskoví panáci přiražení k sobě kvůli "pusince". Taiwan prostě dál dokazuje, že patří mezi nejužší špičku při výrobě filmů a seriálů s LGBT tématikou, a to nejen v Asii.

Menceritakan sepasang pria gay yang mempunyai sebuah keluarga kecil dengan seorang anak angkat, sebenarnya series ini sederhana, mengisahkan keduanya dengan segala masalah dan lika-likunya. Dari segi dialog mudah difahami ya, alurnya juga jelas - semua masalah dan konflik yang terjadi menurutku sangat related dengan dunia nyata dan realistis ya, lalu untuk resolusinya juga tidak berlebihan dan cenderung terskematik dengan natural. Dari segi warna sebenarnya biasa saja ya, dari segi konsep cerita jga sederhana ; mengangkat permasalahan umum dan pengetahuan tentang kehidupan pasangan gay. Penokohannya juga menurutku kuat ya, tidak hanya main-role nya saja yang disorot, tapi dengan teman-teman main-role yang menjadi tokoh pendukung di cerita ini juga terasa krusial, tidak ada yang perlu di bahas menurutku ini sangat menarik dan rekomendasi, selain punya cerita yang ringan, banyak life meaning di cerita ini. Mungkin kurangnya hanya ceritanya yang terlalu biasa saja sih ya, maksudnya tidak out of the box mengangkat konsep lain sebagai bumbu cerita.

Cute and cliched

I read the plot summary, and was pretty excited off the bat. It's not often that gay series feature kids. I was a bit disappointed, then, to find that most of the plot revolves around Jerry not being out to his parents or the other parents at daycare. You could have replaced the setting with a high school kid struggling to come out and much of the dramatic tensions would have been the same, minus Kai being a cute background prop that actually doesn't do much. It's almost like a bait-and-switch. They lured us in with the adorable child, then gave us a very standard coming-out-to-parents checklist of tropes.

Honestly, a lot of my goodwill is hinging on the cliffhanger they left us on for season 2. I really hope they lean into the drama and add in more humor or snark. They can't keep depending on the kid to save everything. They'd also do well to develop the side characters, who we really know nothing about. A bit ironic that the series focuses so much on Jerry's biological parents rather than the found family that Jerry and Damian have already surrounded themselves with.
