Chaotic, Extremely Flawed, But Surprisingly Entertaining
The storyline starts interestingly but skips proper introductions, jumping straight into drama. While intriguing, it might confuse viewers. Each episode reveals just enough to keep you curious, and the unpredictable nature is enjoyable. However, the pacing is a big issue. With short episodes and limited runtime, it’s hard to connect with the characters or understand their motivations, making some actions feel nonsensical.Mook, however, is a standout. She’s headstrong and no-nonsense, which is refreshing for a GL character. Unfortunately, her questionable actions toward Prang early on (non-consensual actions) are concerning and shouldn’t be normalized, however it is something we see being romanticized in this show.
The acting is surprisingly good. The cast portrays their characters well, and the chemistry feels convincing.
On the technical side, there are heavily noticeable flaws. The background music is overly dramatic and poorly timed, often cutting in and out abruptly. Audio inconsistencies are also distracting, though these issues are forgivable given the show’s low-budget nature.
The series has a light, unserious vibe, partly due to its production quality, lack of hype, and smaller company origins. However, it's part of its charm, it surprises viewers who approach it with low expectations.
Overall, the production and pacing hold the show back, but it’s still worth a watch. It’s short, entertaining, and packed with drama, making it a quick binge. Fans of messy, red-flag-filled storylines will enjoy the ride. The actress playing Mook has great potential, I’d love to see her in a similar role with better production.
