Good watch. Consistency of main character

In short I loved it.
The FL and ML stayed up to the characters.
I really wanted to watch Zhang HanYun (baby zhangs) drama, after i watched her in sound..she was too good then, superb now... acting like, illiterate ignorant but understanding, bold, kind girl.
What surprised me was Tong Meng shi..his performance..i saw him as arrogant prince in Holan and in wonderful time.. here he is so timid, coward intelligent and cunning guy..
I liked their acting..
And also the support cast..
Story was good.
It had those normal cliches..
But you must watch it for different view.

Good to watch if you're looking for something light.

Entertaining even though I was half annoyed most of the time while watching the show, specially at the first half of the show.

The ML was almost pathetically weak, not just physically but also personality wise. FL was rude borderline cruel. Some of the episodes feels like filler episode, I was tempted to skip it.

The character development was something to look forward.. The romance level of the show was not that high. To be honest I like the other couples better than the lead characters. All this said, there's still fun parts here there.

Another thing about the show, all that what we thought was random cases were all significant and connected.

This is a very nice and well written romantic comedy in which the actors did a great job bringing their characters to life. The lead couple has very good chemistry and, although there are not enough romantic scenes, the best ones were the ones where she’s imagining the love scenes! This is an arrange marriage story where the couple fall in love slowly, not because of their physical attraction, but because of their intellectual prowess, mutual respect, and a deep sense of civil and personal responsibility that made them develop a deep love and admiration for each other. The drama is a comedy for the most part but it really touches the heart of the viewer with the overall great sense of love and protections toward the leading lady from her great friends and family. The leading lady, just by been herself, gains the love and respect everyone that gets to know her bringing about the real worth of a human being. The story really embraces the true meaning of friendship, love, honor, and marriage. Enjoy it!

Commedia senza pretese, divertente, con spunti di riflessione

Prima di tutto occorre specificare che si tratta di una commedia senza aspirazioni di correttezza storica e/o di completa aderenza ad un pensiero logico. Certo, esistono dei momenti di tensione, e qualcuno ci lascia anche la pelle, ma alla fine dei giochi tutti i santi finiscono in Gloria, lasciandoci in bocca un sapore di dolce soddisfazione. Si resta contenti, insomma.
Gli attori fanno la loro parte in maniera più che onorevole, pur senza farci gridare al miracolo, sia quelli principali, che le spalle e i secondari. Costumi e ambientazioni, pur senza essere sensazionali, sono gradevoli e adatti alla produzione. Anche la musica compie decorosamente il suo lavoro di accompagnamento delle vicende.
Ma quali sono queste vicende? C'è una macellaia, piuttosto manesca anzi, una vera bisbetica, che deve sposare uno scolaro arrivato secondo agli esami imperiali. Lei è onesta, ma ignorante e versata nelle arti marziali, lui è retto, coltissimo ma sottomesso e gracilino. Lui ne è innamorato sin dall'infanzia, lei non lo giudica nemmeno un uomo... Eppure finiranno per amarsi, ovviamente. Insieme, combatteranno corruzione e pericoli, assieme alle proprie paure e insicurezze, con l'aiuto di diversi compagni di viaggio, fino ad arrivare a scoperchiare le corruzioni di corte. L'asse portante di questa serie è il racconto di come, lentamente, la coppia che comincia la sua convivenza sotto i peggiori auspici riesca pian piano a comprendersi, scoprendo affinità sconosciute e perle nascoste nell'altro coniuge. Mentre le scoprono i personaggi, le scoprono anche gli spettatori, che iniziano così ad amare la coppia principale che, inizialmente, non pare offrire molte attrattive.
Diverse coppie secondarie formano un gradevole contorno alle varie vicende.
L'abbiamo detto, no, che è una commedia? In molti non hanno gradito che la protagonista fosse, almeno nella prima metà del drama, piuttosto violenta nei confronti del suo uomo, il quale in effetti viene spesso malmenato (e non solo lui). La violenza domestica non dovrebbe essere presentata come materia di sorriso, nemmeno se a commetterla è una donna, ma si ha comunque l'impressione che ad alcuni non andasse giù non tanto la violenza in sé, quanto il fatto che fosse una donna a suonarle a un uomo... Sarò troppo sospettosa, mea culpa.
Ad ogni modo, se nel corso del drama il nostro scolaro non mette su i muscoli, la protagonista subisce invece un graduale voltafaccia che la porterà ad essere molto meno prona a risolvere a suon di botte i suoi problemi. Ma non bisogna nemmeno farsi l'idea che la nostra eroina sia violenta gratuitamente: in fondo si è ritrovata, per intelligenza e capacità, a dirigere e portare avanti la macelleria suina di famiglia, di fatto proteggendo e mantenendo diverse persone. Il mondo degli affari è duro, e ancor di più se sei una ragazza: difficile rimanere a galla se non sai farti rispettare. E quando la macellaia prende il coltello, i bulli scappano per non lasciarci lo scalpo.
In definitiva, un titolo gradevole, la cui storia si svolge senza eccessive lungaggini e battute d'arresto, e che riesce a trattenere l'attenzione dello spettatore fino all'ultimo, senza rallentamenti e improvvise accelerate. Fluida. Un ottimo esempio di come, senza budget da capogiro né attori stellari, si possa fare un buon prodotto di intrattenimento, divertente e non privo di spunti di riflessione.

Décevant !

J'ai regardé cette série, annoncée comme cute, sweet, funny, pour les commentaires hyper favorables.
Cependant, dès les 1ers épisodes, le personnage de la FL m'a tapé sur les nerfs. Certains diront qu'elle est remarquable pour son caractère indépendant, sa volonté d'égalité Homme-Femme, etc. mais c'est une pitié pour les féministes d'être incarnées par ce type de personnage ! Je ne mets pas en doute les compétences de l'actrice, mais le comportement de la FL (dans la 1ere moitié) est insupportable (bête, agressive, puérile). Cet harcèlement FL -> ML est censé être drôle ??

L'histoire n'est pas banale : mariage arrangé entre un érudit chétif mais intelligent et la fille d'un boucher, puis parcours du couple.
Mais cette série se traine en longueur .... 36 épisodes qui auraient pu faire une série de 16 ou 20 !! On se noie dans les magouilles (corruptions diverses, complots, trafics).

Pour moi, cette série est décevante et bien sûr, vu que je ne suis allée au bout qu'avec beaucoup de zapping, je ne la regarderai pas à nouveau.

Due to episode 12, I raised my rating from 7.5 to 8.5.

The male lead let out much needed steam in episode 12, and for that I raised the rating. Nevertheless, I disagreed with him when he told his wife to apologize to another woman (who was touching and massaging him) in from of others, at their home.

Why did they make the female lead so unlikable?

The story is actually pretty good, the acting is good too (not necessarily award worthy), but good nonetheless. They made the female lead character so unlikable, while making the male lead character loveable. The female lead character (not actress) is physically, and mentally abusive; she is childish, and petty. She behaves like a 5 year old. The male lead is kind, patient, and respectful.

Ugh, I wish the writer made the female lead character down to earth, without being bratty and abusive. I hadn't read any of the other reviews for this drama, but I'm guessing that's the reason why the overall rating is under 8.0.

Realistic Tempo Drama

This drama started off strong. The cinematography was above average for a chinese drama, and it avoided many, if not most of the clichès one can expect when watching a historical Chinese drama.

The first episode was very, very good, and promising. The reason why I chose to drop this drama, was simply because I felt extremely bored by the realistic tempo. What I mean by that is that the story was very simple and unfolded very, very slowly. Now, normally, I would call this draggy, but because it fits the realistic atmosphere of the drama, I will just say it was a realistic speed. This is just like Story of Ming Lang, which was also just too slow to keep my attention (but fit the realistic story).

It was really nice to see the character dynamics between the ML and FL. They are both characters that you could automatically enjoy watching together, and the realistically slow way in which they earned each other's trust after their arranged marriage was both sweet and refreshing to see.

I dropped this, so I can't give an overall review, but I would say that what I did see was original and well done.

The cause of the new generation

While there many good writers and many very drama nowadays. There are still so many irritating FL and ML stories popping up just for the sick of catching some wave to the drama. Badly influenced the new generation.

While love can be the most complicated thing. It also need to make some common sense especially for those that are not stupid in the drama. Always such smart FL and ML alway make the most stupid mistakes just to make the drama more interesting just goes to show how bad these writers are. Totally not capable and no new ideas but just trying to follow and copy.

The downfall of the industrial are in the hands of these making attendance writers and producer. Its ok to make your payroll fill but dont continue to provide bad influence to the new generation
