Slice of life in a different world (from mine)

I decided to watch this drama because of Ma Yi Li. I watched her in a few other dramas and she was great. She was the only one I knew in this drama and decided to go ahead nonetheless. I must say that I was glad I did because I loved this short series dearly.

What I Loved About It:
- The cinematography was, to me, breath-taking. I liked the different shots of the scenery, the people, the animals...
- The acting was very good because it was very natural.
- "Oh my gosh, camels!" was my thought and I found it so amusing because it featured a slice of life which was so different from my own.
- There was a bit of a plot and romance and just plenty of small and biggish things going on in this place.
- It showed me a vastly different world from what I know and I felt intrigued and enlightened.
- I liked the romance between the Wen Xiu and Batay. They looked good together and I was glad that they were sincere about each other.
- A fairly happy ending in the end.
- Lessons -- Life happens. Choices have to be made in the spur of the moment or not but "time heals (?)" ... Life goes on. No matter where we are, we are just trying to make things work out (for us).

What I Didn't Like So Much:
- The scumbag in the form of Gao Xiao Liang made me detest him greatly. He was immoral and manipulative. He was a liar and a cheater. I hate such people.
- The death of Snowshoe turned out to be immensely sad. The whole scene tore me apart.

Overall, I am delighted to generously give this drama a 10/10. I truly enjoyed it and found this production full of heart. I highly recommend this drama! :o)

I'm curious about what was happening with the Muslim minority in non-Muslim countries.

I watched it as an Arab Muslim who wanted to know what was happening with the Muslim minority in non-Muslim countries

Kazakhs and Mongols I have always known that their customs and traditions are similar to those of the Turkish tribes, their clothes are also similar to them, Kazakhs are known to be Muslims and even when the religion was not mentioned in the drama, it was clear that they are Muslims. I do not know about the traditions of the Kazakhs, so I have no authority to judge whether the director was able to portray them in a good or bad way, but I am a Muslim and I think that I have the right to criticize those things that contradict my religion.

first of all : Alcohol is Haram(forbidden) for Muslims
It is not (you CANNOT drink alcohol) but (you MUST NEVER drink alcohol)
It is not something that can be taken lightly in Islam, I admit that in our time there are many who drink alcohol despite their Islam (but they are considered deviants from the religion and their action does not make drinking alcohol permissible)
Everyone in the drama drank alcohol and danced together at the wedding

Which makes me remember the second thing: Intermingling.
It is wonderful to spread a cheerful culture about Kazakh traditions but mixing that image with alcohol while both men and women dance together? That is not something Muslims would do.

Finally and most critically was: Why did no one object to Tuoken's relationship with that non-muslim Mongol guy?

In the Mongol tent there was a statue of Buddha and paintings of the Buddhist religion, if Su Li Tan family was really Muslim how did they allow their dead son's children (the children were born Muslims) to be raised with a husband from another religion? It is okay for a Muslim man to marry a non-Muslim woman (because the children will follow their father's religion) but for a Muslim woman to marry a non-Muslim man? This is HARAM.

actually I don't understand many parts.
Is it because the writer was interested in conveying the suffering of the Kazakhs without paying attention to the details related to Islam? Or is this really what happens to the Kazakhs? I hope to get my answer from a real Kazakh !!

Worth the watch

Initially, I thought this would be boring, not my typical kind of drama. To be honest it's not this typical kind of drama you have around, it's a true gem. The story was raw and authentic, and as was the romance between the actors. It was incredible to witness the borders of the countryside and how they're different from the mainstream culture you see in your usual dramas. It's defintely worth the watch.

Good story about love and acceptance others who are different than us.

To the Wonder is a melodrama about being human and learning to accept others for who they are regardless of their culture, language, and race.

My Reviews:
1. It is a heartfelt drama with no boundaries when it comes to love and acceptance of someone different from you.
2. It is a story about human kindness that melts her heart with love and acceptance regardless of culture, language, and race.
3. The cinematography in this drama is awesome.
4. It is short and simple yet engaging.

I give it a 7.5 rating
