casting director & stylists saved the day
the story was compelling in the beginning, and i was OBSESSED initially. but then....oh well.the leads being a stunning couple was the e
best part of the show. (I'm sorry, but my bro song kang still can NAWT act very well? he's better in non romance dramas imo.) regardless, him and KYJ had amazing chemistry imo, aside from some of the v cringy lines the writer included for whatever reason, the two's chemistry carried the whole show. i started watching the drama for kim yoojung, and she did NOT disappoint. she somehow looked even prettier thanks to the amazing stylists. same to song kang, who i actually never realized was so handsome but damn the stylists really went tf off in this drama.
unfortunately, this and the great osts+visual effects are the only good parts. the story went downhill every episode tbh. gah damn the writing was so ass, and clearly with a LOT of borrowed elements from other dramas like Goblin?
they did not have to do sm to hide who the villain was at first to just grand reveal it to be the most obvious villainy dude? no seokmin was the big bad guy? really? people literally overlooked him and thought it would be someone else as hr was such an obvious choice that no one would've ever been surprised...but damn. like um, yay for the lack of creativity?
what was the point of the first creepy assassin dude hired to
go after dohee? could've just shown no do-gyeong in disguise
(masked like the SGBS villain maybe?) carrying out no seok-min's tasks. it would have made do-gyeong's character more impactful. or hell, even seokhoon being evil like everyone else was guessing would've been better than the introduction of a completely new character who dies out randomly and has no other part.
wish the side characters like perilla leaf gang and the secretaries had more useful roles. tho the gang stuff was actually pretty funny at first, it could be better. the secretary romance could've been MUCH more as ms shin had past trauma about relationships, so it could have been very emotionally impactful if her relationship with bokgyu actually developed in a better way. But naw. it was just cringy.
i liked what they did with star jin at the end, the angel arc, but kinda wish that was dohee ngl. if star jin's character was completely removed from the show, it actually wouldn't change anything storywise. i think the whole "dohee's dad signing a contract w guwon and saving her life" plot was actually extremely unnecessary. it was interesting af when introduced, but they didn't make good use of it. poor dohee was yet again tortured mentally and emotionally, and then the inevitable breakup(ah, the return of the noble idiocy trope) which lasts like less than half an episode until they're back again(and then guwon leaves AGAIN goblin style and then comes back again in less than half the ep like girl??? ). wtf was the point?
then the repetition of the past lives stuff from wolshim's pov. it added the "he saved me" part sure, but was mostly just recycled from guwon's flashbacks so stuff we had already seen. like, was all of this really necessary? we get that yall have a save each other trope going on, but damn they alr saved eo like a thousand times even without all these, like WE UNDERSTAND?
they should've just chosen either the past lives stuff or dad's contract stuff tbh. or imo just made dohee that little girl instead of star jin, which would've been smmmm better as the dad would sign a contract anyway and she could've been able to be adopted by madam ju anyway if just a few tweaks were made to the story yk? but naw they aint doing that.
let's get to episode 15. oh god, the worst episode.
i think a better way to go about this would've been if seokmin, after reading the demon manual, realised that he just needed to kill people and then commit suicide for him to turn into a demon.
then it would've explained his invincibility because how tf did this ordinary ass guy get thrown against a wall with enough force to crack all his bones, get crushed by part of the cement ceiling, yet still somehow get up fine, run that far, grab his gun and shoot all within a few seconds of dohee and guwon hugging???and why didn't guwon just.....stop the bullet? if dohee had enough time to react and turn around to protect him, im sure guwon did too?
not to mention HOW THE HELL DID SEOKMIN SURVIVE THE
FALL FROM THAT TALL ASS TOWER? even if it was a river, there's barely any chances of survival as hitting still water from that height is like hitting concrete. plus he just set his damn face on fire and didn't even react???????? be so fr is the immortal powerful demon guwon or seokmin??
the writers really lost the plot after guwon got his powers back. i wish they'd just have wrapped it up there and not drag it on for 16 episodes and ruin the show like...
anyway, i LOVE yoojung in general (loved her in 20th century
girl!) + her w song kang is cuteee, so I stuck with the drama and enjoyed it a lot initially. this is sad, because i was lowkey emotionally attached to this and looked forward to every friday and saturday because of it. even tho i had a lot of negatives to say, i still liked it enough and i feel bad leaving a negative review. but i think i only liked it because of yoojung. if the leads were different, tho.... would've never finished it

A wonderful journey from hell to heavenly love.
I am not a regular K drama viewer anymore so I cannot say this dama was a cliche type of drama. It was recommended by a friend so I decided to watch it since there appeared to be a lag in good dramas during the Xmas period. I was pleasantly surprised at the content and I just enjoyed every minute of each week. The storyline brought me back to savor the progression of the relationship and the consequences of their polar opposite that attract circumstances to overcome. Visually the drama was outstanding and the stylist did a great job on all of the characters something that always irks me when a CEO or financially privileged character is dressed like they were shopping in a bargain basement. This was not the case throughout the drama and it added to appeal. The acting: Superb and worth a high rating. The chemistry was just HOT HOT HOT between the leads and their interactions were natural and did not feel forced. The secondary couple was cute and the actors that laid roles that were not the most appealing in the character they played had a compelling joy of contrasting evil vs good. Overall the FL and ML complimented each other which made this drama very satisfying to watch. Perfect casting. Excellent scriptwriter. CGI and Cinematography were all visually pleasing.
The music -- I was not distracted by music so it was fine and was not overdone or inappropriately injected into scenes as to make the viewer annoyed.
Rewatch value: Would rewatch since it was 16 episodes not binged. Some characters would be more enjoyable to watch the second time around -- the ML and FL assistants; the "gang members" the family members and their acting and roles. Very entertaining drama and I would recommend it to any viewers who enjoy love stories, push and pull situations, and overall pure romance situations throughout the 16 episodes (drama was appropriate length) -- no dragging or fillers.

A Romcom worth the while
Firstly I would like to say that all the cast members did a great job in their respective roles. To me, no one felt lacking in any way.Song Kang seems to be the perfect fit for the role. The charisma needed to be shown by the character Gu Won was perfectly depicted by him. His acting seemed great and emotions could be felt to the audience. Looking at him playing the character was really a delight.
Kim Yoo Jung proved how experienced actor she is. Couldn't have had a better female lead to accompany Song Kang. Do Hee's character was perfectly played by Kim Yoo Jung. All emotions she portrayed could be felt by heart.
Starting my review from the first 4 episodes: I was personally hooked on to the show from the first episode, the encounters between the leads and the later tragedies were perfectly fit in the episodes. The plot was made perfectly understandable from the start and the episodes and their storyline always made me want to know more about the story. All characters were shown in these starting episodes and had some screen time to each of them. The episodes had great comic lines and equal amount of other things going around to make the audience hooked upon the show. Most important thing that dramas should have is the power to keep the audience engaged in the starting episodes and this drama hit that note well.
Episodes 4-8: The main plot started to take place here. All the conspiracy in the drama can be seen unfolding in these episodes in the perfect pace. Each episode ending was made so perfect that would keep you on your toes for the whole week waiting for the next episodes. Gu Won characters develops quite a bit in this stage and shows different emotions in him. Both leads share a great chemistry in this part especially the comic timings in these episodes. Focus also starts mainly to finding the culprit and keeping Do Hee safe. The scenes were always some what predictable but the way they were shown and portrayed by the characters was what made a difference.
Episodes 8-12: The chemistry between the leads is best shown in this part. A perfect honeymoon phase starts that everyone would love to watch. The leads slowly get closer to finding the culprits step by step. Some parts of the past also start unfolding which makes the story interesting making one wonder how Gu Won ended up like this. Many questions remain unanswered during these episodes but the way the main leads carry the story was just great.
Episodes 12-16: The climax part of the drama was expected yet was able to bring some unexpected twists. All questions are answered well in these episodes. Unlike some dramas where everything is hurried up in the last episode, this drama did it well in maintaining an appropriate pace in unfolding the story. Nothing felt too fast or slow. The last episode will also leave one satisfied since nothing was left to be completed at the very end. All moments that a viewer would want are shown.
There were scenes in every episode that felt heart touching, gave you a smile and kept you wondering.
Madam Ju had a good impact till the end of the story even though one might feel in the early parts of the drama that she had less screen time.
Noh Suk Min was as expected and one could predict everything about him yet his portrayal kept me engaged.
Seok Hoon showed clear feelings since the start yet he was not predictable and one would question his intentions till quite some time throughout the drama. It was good to see his character was never made over clingy or interfering and was just perfect as a supporting person. His comic scenes with Gu Won were quite enjoyable.
Ga Young might have seemed a bit irritable at first but to be honest till the end she become a great person. Even her actions in the first half of the show were understandable after watching the whole show. Ga Young actually was a very determined person and I personally loved her character.
Do Hee's secretary and Park Bok Gyu were a gem considering the amount of laughter they gave to the audience. Their scenes with each other and their respective superiors were very cute and funny. Both showed equal love for their superiors. Bok Gyu's back story was quite some fun to watch. Both these characters played and important role in helping the main leads throughout their whole journey.
All office characters were prefect and a joy to watch. I could easily watch more of them on screen.
Do Hee's family had many issues yet their roles were portrayed well. Knowing more about them would have made the audience connect more to them, although I have no complains since the characters which got more screen time were actually the ones that should've been given in the first place.
The production of the drama seems great. The scenes and scenery shown are beautiful. Some scenes were edited so perfect that you would fall in love with the scene. The water scene on the small rocky beach type area was just perfect and I could've kept watching it.
The OST was just perfect. Can't get enough of 'Our night is more beautiful than day'. One of the best OST's of 2023 for me. The background music be it in the fight scenes or romantic scenes was on point and enhanced the beauty of the scenes.
In some parts it did feel like they are taking some time to show the obvious and felt that there could be some more story added to the show. Last episode might feel like a filler episode with cute scenes. The story was predictable at many points which made the cast the biggest reason to be hooked on to the show. The back story was shown twice at a point in the show which dragged an episode. Some characters could have been explained better.
I can honestly not find many shortcomings since I really liked the show although I do know it wasn't a perfect 10. Overall I would highly recommend it people who love to watch a cute bubbly romcom with a mystery storyline.
P.S. Feel free to tag me or message me if you want spoilers as I tend to avoid giving spoilers in my reviews.

Filler romcom? Yeah. Compelling Demon-human fantasy? Nope.
So the "RECIPE FOR MY DEMON" goes like –
(Take your Goblin, doom at your service, tale of the nine tailed, Strong woman do bong soon, destined with you and some other dramas) — handpick elements you like in a container, sprinkle some Song Kang and Yoo Jung visuals and shake the jar twice with spice nd sauce (jealous/psycho/ctuesy side kicks) , garnish it with some special OST and ta-da!! Your My demon is ready to serve xD
I wasn't expecting much and I didn't recive much either. My demon was enjoyable if you go to see it for the eye candy cast, their chemistry but if you expect a logical fantasy story, take a step back, especially if you've seen other dramas from this genre before.
What I enjoyed is the comedy that popped up here and there, Song Kang should try more Comedies (enough of sending out butterflies lol)... his quirky, childish demon was fun to watch but tbh I would've enjoyed more if Jeong Gu Won was more of a morally grey savage demon becoz we're talking about a demon, not angels. Or are you telling me he changed into an "upright demon" for her? His character arc was just so imbalanced.
On the other hand Do Do Hee being the CEO of Mirae F & B was relatively better since its Kim Yoo Jung acting there who carried some emotional scenes gracefully too when her character solely felt like a damsel in distress always about to die until our demon arrives. What a flat, lazly written character for a FL who is shown as an strong independent individual, smart enough to own a company lol.
Although their romance worked greatly but in some emotional scenes I still felt Song Kang a little bit out of place. It still seemed like one of his better performances from previous though... then these two being cuddly love birds was kinda cute xD. That being said you'll be enjoying this drama if you were looking for a romcom with moderate ups and downs.
Now don't come at me for why I'm comparing this to any old dramas of similar genre because I highly object to the creater's creativity. Just where is the story lol... Looking at the budget and all the hype around it, this certainly could have been far, far better only if they thought of an actual story, something unique, non-cliche. After all the promotions and teasers almost promised us a compelling fantasy.
So this is how my demon was. Unfortunately not recommending it to anyone.

Song Kang, please make a deal with me
I decided to write reviews based on my feelings only so do not expect any deep thoughts from me. I am no critic. I watch stuff cause I need an escape from my everyday life. So far I have the opinion that if you signed SongKang in a drama, I am going to love it. I don't know what kind of spell he cast over me but I enjoy everything he does. I always love a plot where there really is not the typical heroic good guy. I love bad guys, so when I read that this was going to be about demon making deals with people I was sold. The cast overall was amazing, the story captured me till the end. I absolutelly love the , true’ song and is living rent-free in my mind now. I fell for Kang Seung Ho and how he portrayed Noh Do Kyung. His storyline was the best for me and it broke my heart a little at the end. Definitely gonna watch it again sometime in future.

Finally i have finished this....
This is my first review that i wrote, because this show made me do it. As the show got hyped soo much and got this rate(8.5). It's HUGE disappointment. If you are new to this type of shows, or if you like predictable, looping kinds of story with MEANINGLESS staring at each other with cringe scenes. This is for you. And i won't even talk how much is this show DRAGGED. Start was average, then when you go through the episodes it gets worse and worse. It felt like when i watched this, story was made by 14yo teenager.Esta resenha foi útil para você?
Stunning Visuals and Perfect Blend of Comedy and Romance
My Demon is an amazing show that really impressed me. The performances by Song Kang and Kim Yoo-jung were outstanding. They brought their characters to life in a way that was really believable and engaging. Their acting was a big part of what made the show so good. Another thing that stood out to me were the visuals. The show looked beautiful, with really stunning scenes and special effects. It was clear that a lot of effort went into making the show look as good as it does. The balance of comedy and romance was perfect. The funny moments were really well done, and they made me laugh without taking away from the story. The romantic parts were sweet and heartwarming, adding a nice depth to the show. The way the show mixed these two elements together made it really enjoyable to watch. It's a great show if you like a mix of laughter and love, and it's also just a visually stunning series to watch.

bog-standard story
I don’t feel very strongly about this drama. It’s average, it’s okay. Nevertheless, ;) here are a few points I want to say…What I liked:
- Intriguing start -> The first few episodes were interesting. They grabbed my attention. After watching the teasers, it was clear, that I was interested and would definitely start this show. Mmh I was especially intriguing were the episodes from 1-6.
- I was in the mood for romance and loved how they slowly started to catch feelings for each other. It felt like Do Do Hee was always very in tune with her own feelings, which leads me to the next point
- The FL-> Do Do Hee. A very confident FL. Confident, yet very aware of her status and aware of her position in the world. She knew she was alone and stood up for herself. Her choices were understandable, and it was very easy to connect to her. I just really liked her character. At least for the first episodes. I mean they didn't really use the potential and kept her developing static.
- The Music -> Another drama with an OST that suits my taste. The music stood out and pushed the drama’s quality. Nice sounds and songs that flowed nicely with the story.
- Expensive production. The set and everything did not feel cheap. Everything looked expensive and well produced. I liked the costume design and everything.
- My Demon couple has breathtaking good visuals.
- Kim Yoo Jung!!!
What I disliked:
- The story progression after ep 6/7 -> the story progression after the main leads get together is always critical. For me personally the lovey-dovey scenes were too much. Maybe I can conclude from this, that I was not feeling the couple to begin with. If I love two characters, I love their together time as well. They’ve had so many of the dating-scenes in this drama, which were a bit boring to me. Or maybe it just sometimes feels like the writer/producers check these scenes of a checklist… Like for example: We now need two to three episodes of staring into each other’s eyes, cuddling, eating cake etc. to make the viewers happy and after that we are going to make them suffer. This is a formular for many kdramas. I’m not critiquing this formular. I know that many people like it and that it brings familiarity to the plate. But it was very bog-standard in this one and it felt like I was watching points being checked off a checklist. Not very nicely integrated into a flowing storyline. Doesn’t help that I wasn’t a fan of the chemistry. In german we would call it 0815.
- Murder/Killer Plotline:-> didn’t care for it. Was a bit boring.
- Past-Lovers Plotline: -> didn't care for it either. I don’t need lukewarm past-lover plotlines to deepen the relationship, if writers are not confident that the main storyline of their romance is enough to keep the viewers invested. If they include past-lovers, please do it in a new way or fully fleshed out.
- The recycling of scenes -> Rescuing and saving again and again
- The most standardized SML ever -> Just unnecessary love-triangle since he didn’t stand a chance anyway. Useless and boring as hell.
- Song Kang -> I feel like I need to be very careful with voicing my opinion on this matter since he has a lot of fans… but without any prejudice… I was not a 100% sold on his acting in this one. Especially his comedic timing was questionable. He had some comedic scenes that were supposed to be funny. But I just did not feel it. It all felt the same through the whole drama. But it’s not like I can’t stand his acting or anything. Just a sidenote: Song Kang is undeniably an incredible handsome man.
- The comedy -> This point goes in hand with the one before. I was just not a fan of the comedy. The way they edited it or maybe even produced it felt off. Humor is subjective and, in this drama, it wasn’t my taste. With Song Kang it seems like it was partly his comedic timing and partly how they staged it in general
- The Side-characters -> None were intriguing to me. Mostly boring and sometimes even… dare I say tacky? Looking at Park Bok Kyu and Shin Da Jeong. I’m not criticizing the actors and actresses. I think they are all very talented. Especially Seo Jung Yeon. It was just hard for me to connect to any of these characters.
In some cases, I don’t even mind over the top or tacky comedy. But it’s very subjective and hard for me to pinpoint why I like it in one drama and not the other. Maybe I just have a complicated and complex relationship to humor in TV series and Movies…
Lastly, I want to say that I am not searching for perfection in a drama. Not at all. I even know my favorite Dramas have flaws, but I am willing to accept and embrace them. In the end I need to be able to at least either connect with the characters or the plot must intrigue me. Sadly, this drama didn’t do that for me. My review is not supposed to be hateful in any way. I’m just trying to give reasoning for my rating. If you are wondering where this rating stands in my rating system:
9, 9.5, 10 : Personal Favourite / 8, 8.5: Great / 7, 7.5: Really Good/ 6, 6.5 Good/ 4.5, 5, 5.5: OK / 3, 3.5, 4: Bad/ 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5 : Horrible
The drama is not horrible but it isn’t very good either. Just OK in my opinion.

A fate that renews their faith and a love that reunites them—again
‘My Demon’ follows the life of Dodohee as she navigates through fantastical mysteries and personal struggles that lead to the defeat of an already lie-ridden and lust-driven chaebol family. A suspenseful feud over the nomination of the mystery heir that would come to inherit the role of CEO for Mirae Group arises, and the adopted daughter of the family is left with tough decisions to take in order to survive. Regardless of the classic business magnate trope of which deems itself recurrent in modern day Korean dramas, ‘My Demon’ uses its commonality in a way that brings structure to the complicated fantasy themes brought to scene. The series excels with its stellar performance that depicts the hardships and fear that accompanies the role of being the country’s top influencer. Its entirety—from outfitting and cinematography to script-writing and character complexities—exudes a sense of superiority that reigns it above all other releases of its genre. Additionally, its high viewership rating and audience response indisputably succeeds it as one of the top dramas of 2023. Though the esteemed actors visibly play a pivotal role in its popularity and emerging fanbase, the series’ comedious usage of demons is unique and attractive to devotees of diverse genres, notably romance, fantasy, sci-fi, and thrillers.
The summoning of love rather than your typical demon serves a lesson that what is stronger than fear is weaker than the human complexion. This means that the essentialness of being human and experiencing love can transcend even the strongest of emotions like being fearful. “What’s best for you is what’s best for me…” All that is needed in the face of challenges is each other and when Dodohee and Jeong Guwon open their eyes to this truth amidst all else, it’ll represent the true testimony of love which promises the show with its build-up of tension, rivalry and romance.
Their existences throughout the timelines presented intertwine in a fateful clash of values in forthcoming to the eventual turn of events that leads the series into its mysticality. Their connection grows stronger through the difficult circumstances in which they find themselves, unveiling a healthy face to their relationship as they put in favor trust, responsibility and understanding. With Kim Yoojung personating a rich celebrity through Dodohee and Song Kang a handsome immortal as Jeong Guwon, together, the main leads journey to find meaning in their successful lives—but not without being at high stakes of losing the traditional values that hold together their individual mindsets.
They attempt to grapple onto their old selves and struggle to accept any change from the past, something that causes them both to get farther away from their reason to live; getting them farther away from what makes the insignificance of being human hold value....something of which viewers will get to piece together with the answers hidden throughout the sixteen episodes of the series.
The demonic antagonist has diverse contradicting personality traits that make for the quirky authenticity his character brings to ‘My Demon’ and Song Kang’s not-so-flawless portrayal of Jeong Guwon contributes a decent portion to the show’s overall wittiness. Rather it be unintentional or not, his serious attire, inexpressive face and monotone line-delivery was a laughable distraction to the certain scenes that can especially make one wonder whether those particular moments were even acted out in synchronization to the script, or completely out of character. Taking in consideration the actor’s mediocre embodiment of Jae-eon from one of his most recent previous lead roles in ‘Nevertheless’, it could either be lackluster performance from his part or a mere penchant towards taking on cold-hearted and stoic roles. Nonetheless, this characteristic aspect of Jeong Guwon itself took on a new face to the character, coming off as yet another comedic appeal to the romcom.
As for Kim Yoojung, her role as Dodohee provides a strong consistency to the show’s romantic appeal amidst its outwordly ambience. The renowned actress has proven to have the remarkable talent of turning lines on a script to a whirlwind of emotions.
Overall, in the emotional aspect of the series, Dodohee’s rather structured and consistent persona paired with the male lead’s tendency to be random and impulsive highlighted the polarity of styles between both actors. These stark differences in personality enabled a certain duality to their connection and especially made for a compelling watch.
Kim Tae-hoon's exceptional acting and execution of Noh Seok-min was undeniably the highlight of 'My Demon' as he provided the series with its much-needed thrill and action. He succeeded in bringing to life a goose-bump-raising villain and, in my opinion, carried the entirety of the series in the acting aspect.
The seamless harmonization between the fun storytelling of emerging secrets and the enigmatic anticipation of who would come to take on the country’s most reputed company amidst a gripping murder-spree was remarkably conducted into the exuberant romcom drama ‘My Demon’ deems itself to be. Its perfect execution of mystery and romance furthermore made for the extravagant dance of passion it ignited within viewers with its additionally enthralling take on the forbidden love between a fate-intertwined demonic power and a reputed influencer.
As expected, the couple’s fans are left in awe once more as their passionate characters grapple a hold on international k-drama viewers, bringing rise to the success of both acting careers.

Full of clichés and the looks of a rich style magazine
This show is for some reason very overhyped. This drama was a chore to finish for me, but I'm the completitionist type and so I endured. Otherwise I would have dropped it around episode 4 or 5.
The plot in this show is laughable. It had potential as a premise if they had gone on a different direction but as it is, it's just pointless and it doesn't even bother in explaining how things work in the fantasy of this world. One of the main things that annoyed me so much is how they decided to include once again the super cliché of main leads knowing one another from previous life (hers that is) while completely ignoring the core christian believe that the whole series wants to portray. Nothing is really that explained anyway, even his powers as a demon are mentioned superficially. Actually, the fact he's a demon is just overall brushed over and it's a background prop to be used in some scenes. It could have been cool and more explored but it wasn't.
Both main characters did have a bit of personality at the start, something that made them more individual, but this is dropped very early on as soon as they start being together, they become baseline neutral with nothing unique. Their quirks are completely dropped . Rich girl meets rich boy and they fall in love, how refreshing. She also becomes damsel in distress and he's your average "bad boy" that is actually not bad but that it gives him the edge to be appealing to viewers. Whether he was bad or not it's not really explored, because except for a couple of grey area situations the show always wants to portray him as good.
In other clichés we also have here, we include two forgettable side characters that are interested in the main two (and mid show they were almost unbearable, especially Jin Ga Young).
All scenes and environments are very fabricated as if taken from a photo-shoot of the actors for a fashion magazine, and so it happens in outdoors scenes too, the little magical details are very on the face put there purposely, some little fireflies, some bubbles, some water droplets...etc.
This also brings me to the fashion. The whole show is basically a catwalk for upper fashion trends and their hair and makeup is always ˖⁺‧₊˚✦perfect˖⁺‧₊˚✦ Not even when they are in bed there is a hair out of place nor they stain the bed sheets despite having a cake of makeup on.
Continuing with the clichés we also have the funny side character couple that while it made me chuckle a couple of occasions and overall I think they were better than the main couple, some others it crossed the line too much into second-hand-embarrassment territory.
Side characters are just very superficial and add nothing to the story nor we learn much from them either despite sometimes having longer scenes than they should for that amount of pointless dialogue. This is the case of all office workers for example as well as some of the family members of FL.
The villains here are very cliché and their motives are just plain bad, and they all had itchy rashes because... they're sooo *evil*. There is a bit of a motive for their actions but then towards the end it crosses the line of absurdity. The cherry on top was main villain falling from that tower and surviving, eyes rolling I saw stars✧˖°
Some of the moments with more tension, like for example that moment between the end of episode 15 and beginning of 16 are solved in such an anticlimatic and fast way that you wonder why they even bothered. Clearly the whole idea of this drama was creating those ˖⁺‧₊˚✦perfect˖⁺‧₊˚✦ moments where they hug, kiss or look at each other and they filled the rest of the episodes with things in-between so it looked like something. But it seems they didn't even manage enough fillers to do this since after the beginning of episode 16 when they already solved the main issue they still had so many minutes to fill the episode with little bits of secondary characters that no one cares about because the plot didn't care for them before anyway. Also, Jin Ga Young spent half the series saying she was going but didn't lol and then when actually something interesting happens to her in the last episode that could have been explored as a small side plot and it's just left there. What the actual hell is this writing lol
There is not really a discussion on anything obviously, like morality for example. At one point FL is taken aback by the reality of the ML's work as a demon, but then it's brushed off because the script said so and because they have the lame excuse he saved her mother when she was pregnant with FL. It was as weak of a plot point as expected.
The most interesting character in this show is God, but obviously is a background character just so she could save him in the end. I liked the detail of her hat.
Overall I think that while there are shows that can be entertaining and use some clichés, this one almost was playing a bingo to see how many of them they could include in this show. For me personally what makes this one worse than some other shows that also use clichés is that overuse of very crafted scenes, fashion and hair/makeup that make everything look so much more fake rather than fantastical. Even their more intimate moments are just so on the face "we're doing this now" that it was taking me out of it and I didn't find it cute. This is paired with the fact I didn't think the main actors had that much chemistry and specifically ML actor was so stiff at times.
Something else that I found extremely annoying in this show are the recap scenes. Sometimes you would have a recap of scenes two minutes after some of the scenes in that recap had happened. This was so overused that I started skipping them. As I said, they simply didn't have enough material for this show and they reused as many scenes as they could as recaps of cute moments between characters or to reminisce about some character.
Product placement is also quite on the face many times.
Music is also very annoying, they reuse the same couple of songs continuously to no end. Also the song that one of the bad guys in the beginning was using and that becomes a trigger for FL, who in their right mind would say to their partner "now it's our song". Like, excuse me sir? just because you say now it's our song it doesn't mean the trauma is going to disappear. But here it does because script said so. I didn't suffer what FL had and yet every time that song appeared again it was irksome to me as a viewer so imagine someone that has nearly died and associates that song with a psycho. I would knock my boyfriend's head with a saucepan if he told me that song is "our" song now. No thanks!!
If you want to watch because of the ML, or you don't mind extremely thin plot and very fabricated everything then you might enjoy this. If you care about plot AVOID this, it's not worth the time I assure you. If you care about certain level of realisticness even in fantastical settings then avoid this too, there are no explanations for almost anything and the main focus is put in the main leads intimate moments and them walking from one place to another in ˖⁺‧₊˚✦perfect˖⁺‧₊˚✦ fashion.

EXTREMELY overrated
The appraisal of this drama is excessively inflated. So in other words, all of these reviews literally don't make sense. It has a boring plot, always the "met in past life" trope, jokes are extremely overused and boring. I'm so sure that the only reason people even watch this drama is due to it being Korean, having popular and pretty actors, and it just keeps making middle finger/f**k you jokes and I don't care about swearing but at some point all the jokes are way too used. I seriously don't understand what people see in this show.P.S: The female lead is actually so annoying, the way they tried to make her cool, independent but also kind, and soft inside I cannot emphasize how overused this trope is. Same with the male lead, but instead his character is new and unique but unique isn't always the good thing. The only good character in this show was the grandma, and of course the writer had to kill her off the bat.
