The Scam Cafe
Right off the bat the technical problems were too glaring to ignore. The washed out black levels were a true eye sore that I had to make a custom color profile for it through the media player. A big portion of the drama was shot in direct bright sun light which amplified the problem even further. Enough technicality, the drama was supposed to offer a mix of romance, comedy and law, although hints of these genres do exist but the drama did an outstanding job in failing miserably with incorporating and mixing each one of them. They may throw some cheap lines within the legal field but that wasn't enough to qualify it to slap the law genre tag, let alone its name. I find it hard to believe that someone would find this funny. I think even our primitive ancestors would have a hard time with it. Finally, anything involving the romance as a concept was unquestionably broken. They couldn't even have a chemistry running despite being the first step for any kind of romance. Lee Seung Gi shouldn't have accepted this project. For dramas that waste 90% of its runtime on absolute nothingness, this drama would have a strong placement in my Top 10. With all that being said, unfortunately, this drama isn't the worst of its kind; I've seen worse.Esta resenha foi útil para você?
Started strong, identity crisis midway
This was very promising at the beginning, with interesting characters, a good story line, and entertaining writing. But midway, when the ML decides he actually loves the FL, it becomes mawkishly saccharine and the writing loses its crispness in favor of predictable sentiment. The story them morphs into a "Me,Too" polemic, with a lot of added drama and conflict that seems tacked on as an afterthought in an attempt to spice it up. By the last episodes I found I no longer cared about the characters, with the FL's indecision and the ML's family issues. Seems popular to make the MLs weak and simpering characters these days, led around by the FLs and basically becoming so sympathetic and understanding that they are doormats. It's still not awful, but overall it seemed a bit of a mess to me. YMMV.Esta resenha foi útil para você?
If you don't like silly dramas with exaggerated scenes, stay away.
7/10 Amazing with some not-so-great moments. It's silly and cute with some social justice points and mildly inappropriate romance. wouldn't be comfy watching it with my mom, but can recommend it to peers. Though this one is full of flaws in my personal opinion, I still enjoyed it and can easily recommend it.PROS:
I love how much he loved her and how he fought for her and vice versa for her at the start. There wasn't any unnecessary, "let's break up and be apart for something we can get over in two seconds if we just talk it out," kind of stuff. I also loved how even if sometimes it felt preachy, in the end, they always tried to kind of balance it out. It left a smile on my face.
The supporting characters and even the villain are just phenomenal. they made the story sometimes. You will be laughing your face off and then crying at some points as they touch on a lot of issues.
It's a happy ending and I am a sucker for those.
I'm not someone who likes to complain about plots or acting or OST because I go with the flow of the story and accept it as it is. I don't criticize the writer or blame it on the attitudes of FL or ML.
CONs:
So now that you know this, it's shocking to me that this story had so many unwarranted highs and lows with the love story, that it made me consider badmouthing the plotline in my mind, which I never do. I just hated how she always treated him like crap and he had to apologize for everything, even though he had her best interest in mind.
It also felt a little too preachy with the girl power. I'm sick of this girl power, independent woman crap that keeps getting shoved down everyone's throats in American media and now seems to be infiltrating my safe space with K-dramas. they even had to ruin her style to do it(the ugly dress, in the end, distracted the audience from the story because it was so questionable and cheap).
This honestly was the most immodestly dressed FL I've ever seen and I've watched a TON of dramas. I like K-dramas for their purity and innocence. this one broke that. if you're into that then I guess you'll love the 16+ rated scenes. I didn't. Also dislike how they turned FL into an insufferable person at times for her wild takes that made no sense.
But if you wanna have a laugh and you don't care about innocence and purity or rollercoaster love journeys, then watch it. You'll have a blast.

It has bigger potencial...but...
I give 4* because of Jo Han-Chul. I only know him as a positive character, and here he gave such psycho-switched scenes that I was incredibly fascinated. The other characters did not significantly surprise, but they did not disrupt the series either. I know the I-love-you-but-pretend-to-hate-you type of relationship rejection is corny but I enjoyed this Lee-Seung Gi fest as well as the constant bickering between the main characters in the beginning. The character of the clever and wise main female character is great. Perhaps the chemistry between the main characters on the part of Lee Se-Yeong was a little lame for me. Lee Seung-Gi was great and played it really well, but I feel that it was somehow cold from the female character's side. More emotions went out of her in The Red Sleeve with Lee Jun-Ho. On the other hand, Ahn Dong Goo was throwing such glances here that he deserves more space and scenes :). Overall, it was a fun watch, had a lot of funny scenes, and dealt with important legal issues along the way.Esta resenha foi útil para você?
fun To Watch
I started watching this drama because Lee Seung Gi is one of my favorite actors and singer. I new he would not let me down on this drama. I was right his performance was great. I fell in love with both lead characters. I love the lead female character with her strength, demanding, yelling and harshness on crooked and evilness. I loved her compaction and humanity for the victims. I love the male leading character conviction, commitment, and honesty. I love how he would appear coldhearted but yet he really was kind and loving. All the characters in this drama was great. The characters in the café made the whole Idea of the café fit into the story. The actors did a great performance which made the story sincere and believable. The twist and surprises in each episode made you wanting more. Great ending and great story.Esta resenha foi útil para você?
Storyline meh, chemistry great!
First few episodes were a little hard to swallow. It’s the typical Korean shouting, bickering, slapstick humour which I don’t particularly like. I initially didn’t really like it- the typical over-reacting, the bickering and shouting, the humour etc... but it started to grow on me after a few episodes and I found myself more drawn to it. Not your typical law drama, nor your typical romance drama. The FL character is somewhat interesting- she’s loud, VERY outspoken, has no filter and will just tell you exactly what she thinks IN YOUR FACE! 🤣🥰Some eps are more interesting than others..Up till around Epi 14 it was quite engaging. The villain however was just too overdone and annoying. Last two episodes was kinda dull.. so in terms of storyline it was a 7, but the chemistry between the leads was a 9. Some nice PDA scenes in Epi 11&12, and it’s a happy ending.

Though it's always predictable to see the rich and problematic businessman who does all certain things to get what he wants.
The comedic part on bits and pieces makes it enjoyable to watch without having it too heavy to digest.
Both Lee Seunggi and Lee Seyoung did a fantastic job in the comedic aspect, as for the serious acting we don't need to doubt it. But my scene stealer would be Ahn Donggoo and Kim DoHoon, it seems like they are only supporting but their supports really makes the whole team completed.
Would love to see Kim DoHoon on another project, and I hope his career will be brighter along the way.

Nice Story with great execution
There are lot of people are unaware of the laws in the society which are created by the government for people. The lawyers and rich people and many multimillionaire companies use those for their beneficial. This series leads us to being aware of your human rights and laws which we are not aware of.In the series both characters are lawyers and well educated law professionals. The story starts from the lead cast of the story resign her law firm job to start a cafe which also gives law advices to the people. The place of which The law cafe is going to open is owned by the another lead cast and hero of the series. Then many uncertain events occur between them as each episode is going.
A full of comedy, Drama, Love , Romance with some law studies The law Cafe creates a soft corner in your heart. Someone who is in Law industry must watch this series and others can also learn some of Law hacks and how the lawyers do it though!
One of the most thing I liked about the series is how they build the characters, as they are firm on their principles and attitude of doing what they do. They both do mistakes and they learn from it.
Another thing is how keep the chemistry between the two lead cast and ignite the romance between them as connecting the past scenarios and reasons behind it.

Suspicious partner with less suspense but this GREAT
If you watch enough dramas, you will notice that there's a lot of romances with the themes of crime or with the setting around the justice system, and most of them have a strong dark or serious tone to it. Shows like "suspicious partner" are some of my favorites, managing to have a great romance and still deliver a great suspense. BUT this show, despite also having these themes, goes for a more comical or heartwarming approach.. Great Romance, I felt like the characters really worked well together, it didn't fell forced, even if it has those "they stare at each other for 10 minutes as soon as they see each other" moments and it wasn't at all, depressing. They are in love and they build a strong relationship overtime and do their best to not let it crumble.
.Great performance, I wasn't expecting much and even tho there wasnt the need to deliver crazy heart wrenching scenes, but even the side characters have great chemistry. Also child actresses were phenomenal, that ghost kid almost made me cry.
.Strong OST too.

A fun light law romcom with good ensamble of actors…
What i like:- The mainleads r both great actors, they portray their characters well… ML is a smart conflicted guy who’s in luv with FL from the beginning n FL is a pretty sassy girl who is kinda annoying sometimes but also has the biggest heart… their chems is ok, especially entertaining when they were bickering…
- The supporting casts are good… i like how they r this big happy but with a bit problematic stories, who support each other throughout everything … when they r together, there r lots of funny scenes… the villain is also good, u’ll hate him for sure…
- It’s a HE with a big nice wedding where all casts are present, even their clients, the best kinda ending…
What i’m not too fond of:
- The plot is a bit too predictable… n it’s getting repetitive in some parts, like FL got a new case, she went against the big bad wolf, ML&the casts help, then somehow solved… over n over like that… however i like how the casts r there for each other from the start… i like their dynamic, n it’s what makes me like this drama… so I guess it’s not that big problem for me?
- The hostage scene in the end is ridiculous! Somehow everybody was there n watching while ML was held hostage n fought for his live… there were def times when the police could just take out the villain, but nobody did nothing… 🤦🏻♀️
- The casts r just there, not really having a background story for most of them… so it’s not the kinda drama u’ll be hooked emotionally…
Anyway… i always like when they mix law with romance, for me it’s just interesting… so overall i still really enjoyed this romcom… however I wouldn’t recommend this to people who expect smart plot & some kinda twisted surprise, there is none… so just keep in mind this is a light fun watch with great casts n some funny scenes… if u like that kinda drama, then just give this one a go, u’ll like it… 😊

This show should have higher ratings
The main couple is just perfection. The plot is not the best but is interesting.
As I have said before the couple is what makes the show.
The characters are likable and interesting,
It ends with a wedding what more do you want a couple that has amazing chemistry and their relationship is so healthy and it feels like their equals is partnership.
I just love this show.
Also its so funny.
All do it does deal with some heavy subject matter that might not be easy for everyone, but i really think they did a good job dealing with it especially when they were talking about consent. For the most part is keeps a light and fluffy vibe. Which I appreciate a show that can be serious and fun whiteout it feeling weird because it is a law drama.

THE LAW CAFE!!!
I’ve just finished watching The Law Cafe, and wow, what a rollercoaster of emotions, humor, and unexpected twists! From the very first scene, I was hooked by Kim Yu Ri, a passionate lawyer who has a bit of a wild side. She resigns from her public defense job to open a law cafe, and the drama takes off from there with her quirky determination and complex relationships. The chemistry between Yu Ri and Jung Ho is intense, layered, and, at times, hilariously awkward. Jung Ho, a novelist with a hidden past, is clearly more than just her landlord—he’s been secretly in love with her for years, and watching him struggle with his feelings is both frustrating and heartwarming. Their back-and-forth, especially with Yu Ri’s boldness and his reluctance, makes for some of the most enjoyable moments. I mean, who else could casually declare love while being so direct, even when it’s totally out of left field?
The storyline dives into some heavy stuff, including workplace accidents, family secrets, and the haunting past of Dohan Group. Jung Ho’s attempts to atone for his family’s wrongdoings, especially related to Yu Ri’s father, are as captivating as they are heart-wrenching. There’s a constant undercurrent of tension as they navigate not just their own issues but also the dangerous world around them.
I’ve got to say, the side characters were also a treat. From the bumbling but lovable employees at the cafe to the emotional support provided by the people around Yu Ri and Jung Ho, they really add depth to the narrative. Plus, Yu Ri’s bold approach to justice is a refreshing change from the typical stiff legal drama protagonist.
But, let’s talk about the romance. It’s chaotic, passionate, and super real. Jung Ho’s slow burn of 17 years finally sparks into a torrid love affair, but with all the drama surrounding them—family, revenge, and betrayal—I couldn't help but feel both thrilled and anxious for them. The conflicts they face are more than just legal; they’re deeply personal, and it shows in every scene.
In the end, despite some awkward pacing here and there, I absolutely loved how everything came together. The show has its cheesy moments, yes, but it balances them with moments of raw emotion and real connection. And don’t even get me started on the wedding—it was dramatic, perfect, and the cherry on top of their beautiful journey together.
The Law Cafe isn’t just a legal drama; it’s a story about finding the courage to face your past, fight for justice, and love without reservations. I definitely recommend this one to anyone who enjoys a good mix of romance, mystery, and heartfelt moments.
