I think these two dramas have the same vibe. The main character is tired of life and decides to work in a bar/cafe. They interpret life with the customers who come to visit the bar/cafe. Drinking can be calming and fun.
Both of these stories start with one of the leads tasting a cup prepared by the other lead, and falling in love with the world of coffee. The lead persistently insists that the barista teaches them and shows up at the cafe everyday until they agree.
It's a series of short, reflective, and largely self contained stories. Both seem to be rather European in the writing and directing style. Questions are asked but answers aren't necessary.
Same similar relaxing, down-to-earth vibes as Recipe for Farewell.
The topic is coffee, and there's no serious illness, so it's a bit lighter to watch as well.
> Both male leads are charming in How About a Cup of Coffee and Coffee Ikaga Deshou
> Almost bearing the same title
> Slice of life
> Coffee barista as a job
very much a slice of life treat with every episode..... each with its unique set of challenges when people gather and share life issues and see how to resolve them ..... Watch it! .... absolutely brilliant !!!!
