A Great Story
An unusual story of the supernatural combined with a murder mystery. It was entertaining from start to finish. There was a lot of emotion and drama that will keep you immersed in every episode. I liked every side story and every character in this drama. The script is very well written and will make you laugh and cry.The only thing between a 10 and my rating of 8.5 was the romance. It was sold as a romance so I looked forward to watching that unfold. For me, it never really did. The kisses were awkward. The last kiss, which followed the loving stare of two people, looked like she couldn’t wait for it to be over. I wonder how many takes they had to do to make it look even that good. It looked like he was trying but she was not into it. In fact, she never sold the chemistry between them at all. The words were there but words don’t make chemistry, romantic acting does. This is just one man’s opinion.
So don’t let my opinion of the romance stop you from watching this great drama. It is well worth your time.

The story is original and unpredictable, however what really sucks you into are the characters. None of them is your typical hero or heroine. Obviously there's still a drawn line between protagonist and villlain, but you won't find perfectly moral and just people who always fight for the right. And that's what makes it so interesting, the inner conflicts of each character and their relationships with others and the law as well.
Lee Bo Young does an incredible work with Jang Hye Sung. I'll admit that I had a problem with her character in the beginning, but as I started to see her layers I started to appreaciate, and even like her prickly yet quirky personality. Also, althought the first drama I watched with Lee Jong Suk left a bad taste on my mouth, I still managed to like his skill and his character as well. He did a good job.
Kudos for Yoon Sang Hyun who did a good job as Attorney Cha haha Sometimes he was irritating and obnoxious, but in the end we all knew he was a good person. He also was a good contrast with Hye Sung's detached (at first) approach to her job. As for Jung Woon In, his villain at first seemed kinda generic and uni dimensional, however as the episodes went by we start to see his real self and motives. Obviously nothing excuses what he did, but at least you feel bad for the guy and even shed some tears.
My only problems with this drama were only two: the lack of both romance and a good represation of law. I know I'm not an expert, but some things were kinda cringy to watch, especially coming from people who are, supposedly, impartial and unbiased. As for the romance, I admit I'm a huge sucker for fluffy and squee-worthy moments, but I can kind of understand since the main focus of drama seems to be on the law/mystery/thriller aspect. Still, the small amount of moments was good.
Also, I don't have a problem with age gap, and even if you have don't worry too much because that isn't even the focus (althought focusing more on it would be interesting for the drama).
The music was good but forgetable. I like OSTs that not only are good, but also make me want to download it and listen, hence the slightly low (compared to the other aspects) grade.
Overall it's a very good drama. Not my favorite, but good anyway and I guess I'll rewatch it one day, more than once actually. It has a good feeling to it despite it's heavy themes, so it's pleasant to watch.

Anyways, I really liked the story. You know, law and order, the boy trying to keep a childhood promise, and the girl becoming lawyer...It is sweet and touching.
No need to mention that all three leads' acting-chemistry was really good. Yoon sang- hyun, I love you! ^^
and Lee Jong Suk, he just cries so good that when I see him crying my eyes become watery, too. -.-
THe only problem is in the second half of the drama, the story kind of loses its' spark and we have long, unnecessary episodes..I think the writers wanted to show us Soo-ha's growing up and I admit that it was necessary for the plot.
But, that murder case and love interests between these three took slightly different twists than I expected so, honestly I had to skip some parts.
I have to give it to them though, I did like the final.....^^
One last thing is....there is one specific OST which I listen to at certain times...It is so emotional that I would love/want to meet the composer so much...That music fits the story so well...*.* Maybe that's why I keep remembering this drama.
P.S. The poster is very beautiful and meaningful, right?

Shades of justice.
Drama, supernatural rom-com fictional story, don't count only on that. This story tells how hard is to forgive some one. If you think justice have only one shade, then you must watch all episodes. Stubborn nature of human for revenge, only take person to destruction, loneliness. How injustice can destroy the families, shown beautifully. Hope you guys love this series.Acting, direction, casting is fabulous. Key point in this drama is story. How story turn your view about all characters shown beyond the expectation.

The acting was impressive. Lee Jong Suk stole my heart! The first drama i have seen with him and for me it's his best drama even now at the end of 2016 it is still his best. The female lead is a great actress i love her, i love them both XD
The music 10/10 the OST is now 3 years later still in my head...lol.....

This drama was recommended and as I was open to recommendations, I went in with little knowledge of the story other than a brief summary indicating it would revolve around law. After episode six, I desperately appealed to people who have watched this with one simple question "does this ever get good?" I feel people who don't get the rave reviews asked the same question. The whole drama in general has a feel good lackadaisical aspect about it. The law is poorly done, the characters uninteresting and there is little to cling to. I was told the characters are very compelling. Yet, you have a pretty boy highschooler crashing on his "noona" who helped him like 10 years ago, I'm surprised he remembers her. Unsurprisingly, the "noona" happens to be a pretty lawyer who is hired for no reason at all. She is neither qualified nor has taken her job seriously prior to that point. Then is the innocent lawyer Cha who is actually, the only character I felt any affection towards. The acting though is decent, nothing worth raving about. I've seen them all in different dramas before and the feeling is the same.
The selling point could have been the villain, who is the best actor in this alongside the mom. However, he is such a nonsensical villain who up to episode 10 has no backstory hence rendering anyone who can't tolerate this anymore, disinterested. It starts with him committing a murder which is never explained. He then nonsensically wants to kill the girl/later woman who witnessed his murder and testified against him. What makes even less sense is that no preventative measures are taken by this little girl and her family to prevent any future mishaps. I'm just saying if I testified against someone and they yelled they were going to kill me. I would not only expect witness protection but I would appeal to the government and relocate somewhere! Plus, evidently, you can now burst into a courtroom and just testify.
It would have been great if the villain plotted his revenge well, but it's not that any of his actions are done well. It's that the officers and system is so terribly incompetent that I just don't get it. That is unintentionally incompetent. The drama doesn't portray it so but you find yourself wondering why no one is investigating shit or even finding very blatant evidence that I as a viewer could find...
I honestly have so much more I can write about especially in regards to how incompetent they are as lawyers and what a dumb law system that is that seems to pardon people based on reasoning rather than evidence. My 5 is generous.

When I read the intro for this drama I liked the whole concept idea for a moment thought it would be a nice twist to the regular K-dramas with a hint of police work (You know something like CSI). But truth be told it was far away from my expectations.
The acting was well done, nice amount of humor, not enough "police feeling" and perhaps too much DRAMA. I don't regret watching it, but I would definitely not watch it again at least in like 20-30 years from now. This could have been completed on a 16 episode series 17 tops. The last one for sure it was a waste of Time.
But... I guess as a drama addict you must face all kind of dramas.

Charming, solid plotline, cute and intense moments, but lacking in a subtle way.
So, I've always been a fan of older lady-and younger guy love stories. Maybe its because it's unrepresented in Kdramas and maybe I like it because I'm in an age gap relationship myself, but I always like watching dramas with this premis to see how they are going to do them. I found this drama while searching for these type of stories, and after all the glowing reviews and the supernatural element I was super excited going into this.'I Hear Your Voice' is a really good drama and I enjoyed it immensely. But in my humble opinion (which as you can see many disagree with) it could have been better. Why? Maybe my expectations were too high after reading these reviews but... well, my biggest disappointment with this drama is that I feel like the leads lack chemistry. As I watched, I was sold on the male lead loving the female, but I didn't quite get the same intensity from the female lead towards the male. Maybe its because I watched 'A Witch's Romance' just before this drama and their chemistry in that is the best i've seen in a Kdrama EVER-- its hard to top that level of interaction and chemistry and perhaps I went into this a bit spoiled. But in 'I Hear Your Voice' the FL falls in love very subtly, and as such, maybe its too subtle. The ML feelings are immediate and intense, they are a core part of the plot, and at first she isn't on the same page, but when she catches feelings, it seems a bit forced. And while it was nice watching them those feelings play out, I kept hoping they'd have super heart-stopping romantic scenes and they never truly did. I mean yes there are many cute moments between them, but as someone who loves to internally squee at cute scenes, there just wasn't enough for me, and this made me sad. And part of the problem might be that the second male lead is a great match for the female lead too, in terms of personality and chemistry--so it's almost difficult to root for the main male over the second lead at times. In the end, I felt like I wasn't given enough GOOD reasons to want the two leads together, even though Jang Hye Sung seemed to be drawn to Park Soo Ha, I would have liked to feel it from her more intensely. Ultimately she treats him like a child for a lot of it (and he acts like one too sometimes) and I never felt the drama managed to quite break that dynamic for me-- perhaps because Park Soo Ha's actor comes across as so young in this. His inital attraction to the FL starts as a crush when he is a boy, and the drama (in my opinion) never quite shakes this-- He really does seem like a High School Student with a long-lingering crush. Dont get me wrong, the love story is cute AF, but I would have liked to see their love evolve and feel more 'real' and I was disappointed in that respect personally.
Other things I didn't like were just tropey things that plague most dramas-- the 'horror movie' trope where people do stupid stuff instead of running away, taking precautions, etc, are par for the course for kdramas so it was fine, but they did rely on it a bit to advance certain dramatic plot points, which was frustrating. Also some of the courtroom stuff was kinda laughable in the way it was dramatized-- they tried really hard to make the legal stuff seem realistic, but they definitely broke/bent the law in this drama to fit the plot and it is a tiny bit silly at times. That said, the second female lead-- the rival lawyer of the LF was great though, and they do an amazing job of turning her from conceited villainess to a real person with real feelings. And the main villain really shines too--- he is terrifying at times, and is a real highlight of the show. In fact, all the acting of the side characters in this is really solid, and at times they outshine the leads.
The plot itself was very different and rather cool with the supernatural element in it, and the premise itself is where the drama shines. Its very clever and riveting and it makes you sad and mad and all at once. I was stuck on the edge of my seat for a lot of this drama. I was not bored at all and I dont think I fast forwarded unlike I usually do with other dramas. The flashbacks of the female lead are also where this shine, Kim So Hyun does an amazing job as the young version of Jang Hye Sung, and those scenes stood out to me as really memorable.
Over all, it was a pleasant drama with a great premise, intense moments and quite good acting. It's a good first step into noona-type romance kdramas. If you are a fan of that type of kdrama definitely give this one a try! The suspenseful story will keep you hooked for sure. It's not my fave Kdrama but its definitely worth watching.

When clichés are done right
There is a reason why some plot points are overused so much that those become clichéd because when those are done right, you get something wonderful. This drama contains a lot of clichés --
Traumatic past/childhood ✅
Leads childhood connection ✅
killer chasing female lead ✅
love triangle ✅
temporary amnesia plot ✅
situational cohabitation ✅
Frenemies ✅
I hear your voice is not a typical fantasy romance drama because despite having fantasy element like Mind-reading it still is very much rooted in reality. It's a heavily character driven drama where each character has it's own charm with strengths, shortcomings and dedicated character growth.
characters :-
1. Jang hye sung (Lee Bo Young) :-
One of the best female protagonist in any kdrama. A strong female with imperfect/flawed personality. She is not an ideal character but rather a realistic character who has her shortcomings , embarrassing moments, selfishness yet comes out stronger as the situation demands. She comes out childish and immature at times like, when attorney shin was ashamed that he couldn't get justice to his client in the past which hye sung did but she was cluelessly asking him again and again to praise her, and also acts selfishly at times like when she didn't have any proofs for min joon guk's trial in her mother's case she begged seo do yeon to do anything to get him behind the bars But when she is faced with challenges where she herself was wrong like the twins case or the gramps case, she does not hide it and tries to fix her wrongdoings.
2. Park soo ha (Lee jong suk):-
Another protagonist with tragic past and a supernatural ability however what makes him different is how he matures with each episode. He is somebody who has a tragic past and the ability to read minds because of which he does not act like typical teenagers However he is still immature in his own ways e. g. He has a very perfect image of jang hye sung in her mind whom he is writing in his diary however when he faces her in reality his delusions are immediately shattered which shocks him so much that he throws that diary in dustbin however he picks it up immediately after a few second because he still have a debt to pay for saving his life. His character has seen a tremendous growth throughout the season e. g. when he meets min joon guk at the restaurant he loses his temper however later on when he kidnaps hye sung, soo ha doesn't lose temper and calmly tries to solve the situation , first he confirms that whether hye sung is really there and also informs the police beforehand. There are other examples of his growth too like how his behaviour towards attorney cha changes overtime.
3. Min joon guk (Jung Woong In):-
A perfect villain who was once a kind-hearted human being but slowly turns into a cold-hearted pure evil villain. I didn't feel sympathetic with him at the end because in the quest of revenge he actually became so evil that he was not only attacking people to whom he has resentment (park joo hyuk or jang hye sung) but also innocent people who actually treated him well ( hye sung's mother, attorney cha and the fruit seller lady). He was well aware that he has gone too far ( even asks that random lady the same question in a roundabout way ) however he decided to still walk on the same path
4. Cha Gwan-woo (Yoon Sang hyun):-
A very mature and idealistic lawyer who losses things he care about because of his ideals e. g. He tried to save his girlfriend's mother's murder suspect despite knowing his connection with hye sung's past which lead him to lose hye sung as his girlfriend and in the end it turns out that he was wrong all along because of which he was so ashamed that he resigned from his job. However there are many moments throughout the show where his maturity even outshines the leads
5. Seo Do Yeon ( Lee da hee) :-
Very selfish and Mean prosecutor superficially but a very complex character who regrets her past actions yet still embarrassed to admit her mistakes. Her growth arc is one of the best.
6. Hye sung's mother (Kim hae sook):-
Best mother in the world
7. Seo Dae-Sook ( Jung dong-Hwan) :-
Somebody who never admits his mistake
8. attorney shin ( yoon joo sang):-
a wise senior public defender who has many regrets
The soundtrack of this drama is amazing especially "why did you come now" from jungyup or the acoustic version of "Echo" from The band "every single day".
There many trivial scenes which makes this drama special for me e. g. the train scene where hye sung sees all the used news papers and realize how bad her attitude was towards that old gramps or the dance scene of hye sung's mother where despite acting cold on-phone to her daughter she was dancing in happiness.
I've seen many kdramas and cdramas but this is the first time I'm writing review because I loved this drama that much.
