Watch for amazing chemistry
Call it cutie lie instead of cutie pie 😅😅 So a lot of the time the sheer lack of communication just to stretch the story fustrated me but good lord the chemistry was off the charts. Even when it felt too much watching the ML'S play off each was too much of a treat to give up watching and im not even talking about just the love scenes. The ML just really played banter well. Lian's Micro expressions of wonder, longing and exasperation, Keua's vulnerability and mischief. The actors did a great job. Plus the friends group was so lovely and absolute hoot. Syn was one of ny favourite characters. A definite rewatch with a little bit of skipping maybe.Esta resenha foi útil para você?

It was cute like it's name lol
I like this drama, it was cute and interesting. Also, there was some cute fluff in it so :).The plot is about NuKuea, who is this rich boy that got engaged to Hia (ML, Zee's character). When they were young, their grandparents promised to have them get married. So, they were engaged since young. Hia is smart, handsome, serious and hot. Kuea is playful, cute, sensitive, and adorable. They're basically like brothers and friends.
One day Kuea finds out that Hia got ownership of his family's property and this makes Nuea become suspicious of Hia's intentions towards him. Nuea lives a double life of a good boy image to Hia, and an amazing artist at the club.
Eventually, Nuea finds out the truth, and they have a happy ending.
Also, there were some side couples like Hia and Nuea's friends to make the drama complex and cute.
Sum it up, if you like cute and funny; and some hot fluff this drama is for you.

We as the audience know, that nong is trying very hard to please his older fiancee. In his presence, he always immediatelly changes his behavior, even his way of talking. There are many scenes where he is seen quickly changing his clothes, taking his earring off and stuff when he spots him coming. All his friends are helping him hide all the stuff. It's like his stern parent is coming, lol. Yet, we know that hia already knows. All his gifts for nong are things nong "secretly" likes. He also already knows nong is crazy about him, yet he treats him morelike some kind of a guardian than a boyfriend, which gets repeatedly broken by a sudden hot making out scene, which then immediatelly reverts back to how things were. Why? I don't know. There's even a second couple that strangely mirrors the same dynamics.
There are many scenes which are fun. And some moments are SO goofy:) The mentioned kiss scenes are great. On the other hand, 12 episodes is not much, so to spend most of them going in circles and just repeating this hot-and-cold and cold-and-hot-again combo, would be a waste... So, the mains jump right into confession & bed scene in epi 8/12 (I'm sure not complaining about that bed scene;) and then start living "like a married couple" already (it's not really legal in Thailand) and I wondered what would next 4 episodes be about. The second couple is revealed to be the more angsty one... But when you expect them to finally have the crucial confrontation, the older one gifts the younger one A DOG.
Nevertheless, if you ignore this little stumble, the second couple then repeats in epi 10, what the first couple did in epi 8. And it's even more entertaining:) With scenes like this, who can really stay cross with this series?:)
Then, only 2 episodes remain, but perhaps it's better that way, making yet more of them would probably cost too much:) Just the amount of hairproduct, jewelry and makeup all the MALES wear here LOL. They are just like cut out of a glossy kind of magazine, just in every scene. One scene at episode 7 nong gets to meet hia's friends, and they're all gay and they all wear bleached hairdos and open shirts with a necklace and several earrings and overall look like models. Including Zee of course, but with him, his age starts slightly showing and more importantly, with him it's different. Without Zee, without the enormous luck that someone like him was the main cast, without the audience having the blessing of looking into his Zee's eyes to find it's not all shallow and materialistic... There are so many gift-giving scenes that they practically replace a couple's story here, then there is a post-ending "story" in which the YOUNGER one is promoting face moisturizer, LOL... Okay, now I need some straight drama with less pink lipped men to balance this out.
Overall when I rated this, I wanted to go considerably high, for all the enjoyable kiss scenes & bed scenes (my favorite were Yi & Diao's), but also I had to consider the whole nonsencical buying/cohabitating/grooming idiocy & Zee's previous show 'Why R U'. Because this is definitely NOT better.

very good
if you are someone like me, who watches BL for shits and giggles (and of course the BL itself) I would recommend this show for sure. The people who are hating on this show are probably the same people who like tharntype and I do not trust those people!! the romance scenes in this show were fantastic, they did not disappoint. The actors were great, obviously the story was a bit all over the place but I have seen a lot worse let me tell you! the amount of romance scenes you get with this show is worth ever minute spent watching it.Esta resenha foi útil para você?

ZeeNuNew, that's all
Tbh, I liked it. It's not the best show and I thought it's gonna be a pain when I saw how Kuea is behaving like programmed robot but then he showed his true colors which made him much more interesting and hot. Even though I don't get why he pretended to be someone else in front of the person he grew up with and loves the most, I liked his and Hia Lin's chemistry like when he teased him all the time and pretended he didn't know about his secrets. Well, that'd be good for the start but this plot is dragged to the end which made this series boring. It's also a shame my favorite second side couple appeared there so little. They had amazing chemistry and it's the same like in Bed Friend, zero screentime. But I'm hyped up for Middleman's love. They need their own series now.Esta resenha foi útil para você?

Okay, so overall, I would recommend this show, and I would watch it again, but probably only in the background while I’m not fully paying attention. I didn’t mind the fact that the storyline was lacking. It was good overall, and at first, but sorta feel off in the middle, and then got repetitive in the end. Especially with the calling off the engagement because of secrets and insecurities. And then the fact that Lian shows actual interest or feelings for Kuea, and he decides to not call it off yet, or agrees to continue and to advance and etc. Personally, I didn’t care for the engagement since birth thing, since Lian is so much older, it made it weird. Had they been a little closer in age, it wouldn’t have been so bad.. I’ve seen that before and it was okay. Honestly I do like that they made them so different and not know much about each other. It makes sense considering that Lian was in already out of college before Kuea even entered high school. I’d say the best part of this show is the 3rd couple, the spicy value, and Poppy! (What would we have done without our comedic relief?☺️)I don’t wanna say too much about this show because it will be repetitive, but mostly, I think that the show could have still been pretty good, had they only communicated for 5 minutes. That was everyone’s problem in this show. The age gap, the secrets and all of the incompatibilities could have been fixed and avoided with just a conversation. Honestly, I loved the casting, though.. they did a great job on that. And the soundtrack is pretty good, I love NuNews voice so much!

The chemistry is insane.
My favorite BL to date. It used to be 2gether but after one episode of this series, I was completely hooked. The prduction value is sky high and the music is increadible. I have read the book and this series takes a pretty cool premise with a very basic plot and elevates it to a whole other level. The acting is incredible, especially Zee who plays the subtleties in Hia Lian's character very well. Nunew is also great and I can't believe it's only his first role. Max and Nat shine in this BL as well. I really love this series.Esta resenha foi útil para você?
all the things
I loved Zee until this series, now I'm struggling to even want to watch him in anything else because the character he plays here gives me the skeevies. I never thought that could happen because I loved him so much as Fighter, but apparently, it's the character I love.In Cutie Pie, there's so much toxic manipulation going on. And I dropped it at episode 5, imagine how bothered I would be if I had kept going, which is why I dropped it. I know it's super popular, fans are all over Zee and Nunew, and all of that, but I honestly don't care about the hype, and did not like the drama. It's got loads of manipulation and toxicity running around the table, people not being their authentic selves, communication issues, and for all I know, consent issues later on. I didn't get that far.
I think if folks have any sort of trigger related to narcissists, manipulation, and toxic relationships, this is not going to be the drama for you. I handled the manipulation of Fighter with Tutor just fine because Tutor was one tough cookie in Why R U and knew how to hold his own where Fighter was concerned. Just like Saint held his own with Zee. But in this, Nunew just seems young and out of his depth and that's how the character is played. It bothers me because they're continuing to play the roles for the fans and recognizing Zee's addictive personality (watch him in interviews and such with Saint 3 years ago, you'll see what I mean), it's just going to get worse and likely Nunew doesn't have any defense mechanisms in place like Saint did.
I just backed out of Cutie Pie before it got worse. I actually was excited for this drama when I first heard about it so I was disappointed that it ended up being so concerning. But it's going to continue to grow in popularity, people will continue to love it, and so be it. I just had to join the small group of folks who didn't like it and have been brave enough to say something. I hope Nunew and Zee are excited about being glued together through the rest of their acting careers, because that is exactly what is happening. And, honestly, it's a cute trend in old Hollywood, but not today.

idk...
I had high opes for this series because... well, Zee. He's a wonderful actor and he acts with his eyes and he literally can be paired up with a wall and it'd still be good. but for some reason, I just could not get into the Main CP or MaxNat. It was one of those common toxic masculine relationships. I was only able to get through until ep. 5 and I couldn't even finish that.I know people say MLs chemistry is amazing but in all honesty it was not different form some other BL CPs I've watched. I'm glad it's popular and people seem to love this series but it was just not for me.

Toxic
I got to see up to chapter 4 and it seems like a lot. It's an extremely toxic series. The series starts and it's all red flags. I've encountered too many cases of lies, manipulation, harassment, "I forbid you to do this", "I force you to...", "you can't choose for yourself". Characters you don't know where they come from or what they intend. Ridiculous situations. There are good actors, but others are so bad that even laughter escapes them. I've already given him enough chances. Please don't waste your time.Esta resenha foi útil para você?
Good start but a little draggy mid-end
First off I wanna start this review saying that I don't understand the main reviews from this drama. Why are they so bad?I feel like these people started watching it and then when KP started, they kinda left it to the side and weren't as focused on Cutie Pie no more tbh.
For me it started really good, to the point that I ranked it on my top 3 BLs ever. But towards the end it has unfortunately fallen down. Now that it's over, I don't think it can make it to the top 5.
PS: I loved the ending (not the drama itself, but the extra things that they gave us). I love how BL series lately are addressing Thailand's nonsensical relationship with the LGBTQA+ community. And then there are like 2 little plot twists, and some behind the scenes in between. I'm glad that they ended the series this way instead of straight to the credits.
STORY
The story isn't something spectacular. It does have some different vibes from the usual, since the premise is two rich guys engaged to each other while one of them keeps his real personality secret from his fiancé. You have to always keep this premise in your mind. If you don't, then you won't enjoy it as much.
It started really good. I liked the fact that Kuea was hiding his "secret life" to Lian. I mean... it's not like he was cheating on him with someone else, it was a pretty innocent white lie. But yeah, I liked that contrast of the character. I would have preferred Lian finding out later on the series, but anyway it still worked. Then the story progressed with a push and pull, and we can see the doubts that Kluen has in regards to the relationship. Mainly because he isn't truly being himself in front of Lian, and because Lian has never really told him that he loves him back so he is doubting about his feelings.
I must be honest, it started to get draggy from episode 8-9. The dynamic of Kluen and Lian was the same all the time. Their interactions were copy paste, so it felt a little boring towards the end. Some lack of communication and stupid assumptions didn't help, but the chemistry was on fire.
We also have two other couples in the show. The second couple was portrayed by Nat and Max who "debuted" as a short lived couple in Why R U. Unfortunately due to covid it wasn't possible to enjoy them as BL partners. Then they had a couple other projects but Cutie Pie is definitely their best one to date. They have improved so much! And they seem to be way more comfortable around each other which helps a lot when acting. I feel like their story needed a little bit more of explaining.
How did they meet? What's the accident that Yi mentions all the time? What's the relationship between Yi and Diao's fater?
I liked them as a couple but I'm still missing more background story to be able to fully enjoy them.
The third and last couple is my favorite, and probably the most popular one. Unfortunately they don't have much screentime. Their story starts late in the drama, but it has so much potential! The actors have good chemistry, they look cute together, and I want to see more of their relationship as Syn and Nuea. They gave us too little, and I would be pleased to watch a spin-off or a special episode only about them. Definitely the hidden gem of this drama.
ACTING
The acting in general was good. Zee never disappoints with chemistry and steamy scenes, he really knows what he is doing.
This is NuNew's first drama and I'm surprised. He was so good on his debut. He was able to make me feel for him, even if sometimes I couldn't understand his reasoning.
As I've mentioned before, Max and Nat improved a lot from their previous works and their chemistry is great. I think Nat shines better playing characters like Diao and Blue (WRU?), instead of the sassy/power bottom Nuea (Y-Destiny).
And what to say about Tutor and Yim? Although I couldn't see much of them due to the little screentime, I can't wait for their next project. And hopefully they will partner again. Cutie Pie was their first drama too and they did good based on the fact that they had no experience. I will repeat myself: I want more of them!
MUSIC
I like the main song. I was singing it every time the episode was over. It's catchy. However unless the song gets into my head, I barely pay attention to it. I tend to focus on the acting/scene and the dialogues. So although the drama has many musical moments I can't say much about them. But I've been getting notifications from YouTube of music videos by the cast singing the OST, so maybe I will take a look soon out of curiosity.
REWATCH VALUE
I don't think I will rewatch the whole series. But I will definitely rewatch NueaSyn scenes, and probably some specific LianKuea and YiDiao scenes. But a whole rewatch? I doubt it.

I LOVE THIS SERIES!
What a bunch of grumblers writing some of these reviews! Stop complaining. This show is as cute a Thai BL romantic comedy as I have seen. It's not meant to be a drama or a social commentary, it's just meant to be fun. It's not perfect, the plot might be a bit far-fetched, but not a single series I've watched is flawless or makes entire sense, for goodness sake! What a talent NuNew is! He can sing and play beautifully, and boy, can he act. I'm actually watching the series through for the second time and I'm seeing the finer nuances of his performance. For one who is still so young, he's just so good! And his pairing with Zee is wonderful. One of my other favorite BL series is Why R U? in which Zee also stars. He is a good actor and he is beautiful to look at. (In episode 3 of CP when he's sitting on the edge of his bed in nothing but... well, enough of that!). His role in WRU called for more expression than his role here (though I'm catching more expression on my second viewing). He's great!
It's also great to see Max and Nat again and to see them as a couple as Hia Yi and Diao. I admit I was a little disturbed by the idea of two men who are supposedly in their mid-twenties having two young lovers who are basically still teenagers, but both couples are just so cute together, especially as the secrets they are hiding from one another are revealed and they come to understand each other better.
As for the other characters and actors, for the most part they are peripheral to the story and serve little purpose, especially the members of Kuea's automotive engineering class team, but they still play their parts well. I particularly like Yim as Syn, the Buddhist wisdoms-quoting monk-in-the-making, and the rest of the team's 'satu' responses to him. It's so fun. As for his budding relationship with Nuer, they are cute but not integral to the main story.
The direction and pacing of this show is better than in other series. It's tighter and there aren't so many long pauses and repetitive action views. There are a few scenes that don't add a lot of value to the show, and--for me--there is a bit of plot confusion in the latter episodes concerning the secrets and who knows what, but overall the plot moves along logically and smoothly.
Truly I love this series more with the second viewing and I expect I'll watch again. Watch it with an expectation to enjoy the fun and I think you will.
